I know eh? We put too much pressure on ourselves!! Don't stress ladies, you'll get it all done. And if not, your wedding day will be beauitful and amazing anyway!!! That's what I'm telling myself these days -
My dress is champagne, and hers is pure white, I personally think it will be fine, I don't think they have to match exactly. But that's just me, your preference may be different. I think it will be pretty regardless I also got her flip flops from the website, the plain thong flip with the flower on the toe. So cute!

Yes it was with the checked luggage. They taped it up (obviously) but the post said bring extra tape with you in case security asks you to open it and look at what's inside. Then you can tape it back up again. Sounds like a handy idea!! -
I got my flower girl dress from David's Bridal online. I really liked their selection, and sometimes they have great deals! I got this dress at 50% off. Spaghetti Strap Chiffon Dress with Floral Neckline Style MK1331. For some reason I can't attach the picture, I'm sorry! It's really cute, and best of all my FG loves it, so that's a bonus! (she is 5 going on 16 so I was worried) The dress is longer in person though, maybe the model in the picture is tall, or maybe my niece is just short. But the dress goes right to the floor. Which is fine, it's a pretty dress and will look great on the beach!

No Camera Policy for Wedding?
jackshayne0123 replied to Snoopy129's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Yes good point, it's never a good idea to advertise you're on vacation because that screams "my house is vacant!" We have decided to let our guests take pictures if they want, but are reminding them to remain in their seats, and be mindful of our photographer and the shots he is trying to take. I didn't want to limit people from taking their own pictures, because they might catch a moment or an angle that our photographer misses (the photographer doesn't have a second shooter) I think this will be ok, our group is small, family and close friends, I think they will understand. -

Are they in Cuba too? We checked out Sunwing tours for the catamaran, they had a sunset dinner cruise that we were really interested in, but it was a bit on the pricey side, $43 per person. I should see if I can find them online. I too am trying to finalize music right now, and my welcome letter. My amazing co-worker who is a rock star when it comes to graphic design is doing it for me. She's awesome. How much decor do you have? I read somewhere that some brides have packed their stuff in Rubbermaid bins. That might work for you? One week woooo!!! -

Hello-New Here! Have No Clue Where To Begin????
jackshayne0123 replied to Twinkies2011's topic in Newbies!!
Hello, welcome and Congratulations! I agree, planning a wedding, even a destination wedding, can be so overwhelming! There is a lot to consider, and this site is very helpful. It has so many forums, ideas, and the brides are so supportive, it has been a lifesaver that's for sure! The wonderful thing about a destination wedding is that there are no rules! It can be as extravagant or as simple as you want. Although I agree, it can become overwhelming very quickly. You see what other brides are doing, all the "extras", OOT bags, favors, decorations, group excursions, and I personally found myself thinking "should I do that? Am I doing enough for my guests?" But don't do that to yourself! Plan a wedding that fits you, your style, and your budget. Don't let all the ideas and examples cloud your head. Although each wedding is beautiful and the possibilities are endless, it's easy to get wrapped up in it all and spend a fortune and stress yourself out. Your wedding doesn't have to be elaborate or a spectacle. (it would be nice though, a girl can dream!) Plan for your style and taste, and it will be amazing and tailored just for you! -
That's so exciting!! Bahamas sounds incredible!!! Let the planning begin!

And that's what counts!!! It's the moment and how you two felt, not all the extras -
I agree, 3-4 days would seem so rushed! No downtime to relax and soak it all in....IMO When and where are you getting married?

Yes krobb it's coming soon! 2 weeks today and we'll be on the plane!! We don't have the catamaran figured out yet, it's been more complicated than I anticipated. Because we don't want the full day excursion (which we could have easily booked through Sunwing) our travel agent has to find a Sunwing rep to see if what we want can be booked. We are just looking for a dinner cruise for late afternoon/evening, dinner and a couple of hours on the boat. It's a high maintenance request apparently! I'll have to touch base with my TA tomorrow to see if he's heard back from Sunwing. Congratulations!!! How was your big day? -
I think the date of your AHR will depend on when to send the invites. And how casual/formal the party will be. I would think a month's notice would be fine, but it depends on your crowd and if you think they need more notice than that. We aren't really doing invites since our party is so casual, so once we book the room we'll just send an email and text and say hey, hope you can stop by! Nothin fancy from us! If you wanted fancy, you should have come to the wedding! haha
-
A send off party would be fun, I think that's definitely original, personally I've never heard of anyone doing that. The only question I would have about that is what about your dress? Would you want to wear it and let everyone and your hubby see it? Unless that doesn't matter? But that's definitely a cool idea!

No Camera Policy for Wedding?
jackshayne0123 replied to Snoopy129's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Holy cow this article is blowing my mind! I NEVER thought about any of this before, but everthing said is so true! I'm going to get my FI to read this for sure. And I am also loving the idea of asking people not to post wedding pictures on Facebook until we get back. We are staying an extra week after the wedding as our honeymoon, so we get back a week later than everyone else. I was imagining all the pictures that everyone would post, all the comments and "tags", and that's great, because they are back from their vacation and eager to share...however it was our wedding day and posting the pics before we even get to look at them and having Facebook land seeing them before us does make me sad. I am re-thinking all of this! -
I think the AHR can be whatever you want it to be, the great thing is there are no rules! I say make it as fancy and elaborate, or as casual, as you like! We are having a "reception" once we are back, but it's not going to be anything fancy. It will be at the pub by our house (location is important!) LOL they have a private room we can rent out, we will order some appis, they have a screen where we can project our photos and video, just have drinks and hang out! I want to put together a slide show of all the vacation/wedding pictures, and just have it play throughout the evening. We will just send out an email/text blast to our friends, no RSVP required, people can drop by throughout the evening. We want to keep it pretty casual. I wasn't going to wear my dress when we first started talking about this, but now I am kind of changing my mind. Even though it's a pub, it's our wedding party and I may as well!! I probably won't get another chance to wear it, and I'm the bride, dammit, so why not?

That would be my guess, maybe she works with the girls from Canadian cities and flying from different airports. We also go for a week because it seems that that is what the packages offer, 7 night (or longer) vacations. Not many cities offer 3-4 day trips. Montreal does, not sure if other cities do. And I'm fine with that, a week vacation, yes please!

Oh no that's awful! Were you able to do damage control, mascara or glue falsies or anything? I didn't call the salon early enough, so I'm getting mine done 4 days before we go. I wanted to get it done sooner, but with the excitement of Christmas, I forgot about it. Fingers crossed I like them and I don't have any allergic reactions. I'll post pics if it all goes well!
