  1. Hi BDW brides, I'm newly engaged on Mother's Day ( my b-day). I'm super happy and excited and now overwhelmed!!!! I've been lurking for years when I was a MOH now I'm the bride. Woohoo! Planning for a spring/summer 2015 wedding. Been with my fiancée for many, many years , we have 3 children together ( kids and teen) and so we are looking for the most perfect destination. Still haven't decided between a cruise or resort, so I 'm looking for a family resort, fun for my children and romantic for us. I have a huge family, who have waited for this day for a long time, so it's really important to me that my family will have a great time. Good food, activities, nightlife and be reasonably priced. This is a family celebration. Help me please!!!! Wise and Knowledgeable brides any suggestions would be appreciated.
  2. Thanks, I'm just getting started and need all the help I can get.
  3. Being of Caribbean decent myself, I totally get the need for you to share the island culture and experience with your guests. Food & music are high on my list of important things. I think you should select an island you haven't been to yet, so it will be like an adventure for you and your fiancée, but makes you think of "your island home". You going to probably have to personalize it a lot so that it won't be cookie cutter.
  4. Conrats, A TA or a wedding planner is a really good resource. Budget is so important to most brides. Look for the Destination first then the resort. I'm going to make a list prioritizing what is most important to me to least. I think this will help me choose.
  5. Congratulations, This site is AMAZING!! Happy planning.
  6. Hi, I'm a 2015 bride also, with the same questions .You're not alone. It can be so overwhelming to choose a destination. Just keep in mind that the most import thing is your happiness. The earlier you start planning the better.
