  1. I am giving one bag per couple (just adding a little more of this and that) and one per individual. So far with my estimates I'll need to make 17 bags.
  2. I am doing them for my guests (destination wedding to Kailua Kona, HI). Unlike other bags I've seen posted, mine are pretty cheap as I expect my guests to use them for the beach and dispose of them once they leave the island. In terms of what I'm putting in them here is what I have so far: 1. water bottles (not personalized) 2. assorted snacks - chips, etc. 3. chapstick (1 per person, up to 2 per bag) 4. sanitizing hand wipes (2 or 3 per bag) 5. Tylenol packets (2 per bag) 6. thank you card 7. brochure with places to eat, things to do, and timeline of events 8. travel size (1oz) sunscreen 9. Wet Ones regular wipes (4-5 per bag) 10. soft vinyl zip pouch (to keep the small items organized) I purchased the bags from from Discount Mugs and it came out to less than $40 (including tax and shipping) for 50 bags. They are just plain non woven style white bags that are big enough to use as beach totes. If you click on the link, just know that the price has gone up since I purchased them (approx 3 months ago). I don't even think I'm going to personalize them. http://www.discountmugs.com/product/tot90-non-woven-printed-shopper-tote-bags/ All in all I'm spending approx $10 per bag, and that is over estimating how much snacks and water are going to cost since we are purchasing those when we get to Hawaii. I'm sure $7-$8 is a more realistic number.
  3. I am having a destination wedding in September, we are going to Kailua Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. Our guests will be flying in from Guam, the East Coast, and West Coast. Because we know how expensive the trip out is (in addition to hotel, car, etc.), we felt it was important to make welcome bags for our guests. Rough estimates I am spending about $13 per bag which includes the bag itself, wet naps, sanitizing wipes, chapstick, travel size sunscreen, tylenol packs, chips, water (no personalized labels), and mini first aid kits. My welcome bags are not fancy, I just bought plain waterproof bags which my guests could use as beach bags during their stay. I am also not personalizing the water bottles, etc. In the end just look at your budget, destination, and who is coming. Also think about the other activities you are providing your guests. We are on a tight budget to we don't have any fancy pre wedding activities, we are also not having a traditional reception (just dinner), so it was important to show gratitude in a different way.
