Thanks in advance for any more insight you can share + photos!

Of course if a bride is ever having trouble I will step in and deal with the resort but I always tell my brides I handle the travel and am here for any extra help if needed but I feel a middle man between a resort wedding planner and yourself just adds more stress. I'm glad your dealing with the resort yourself now and can get things straightened out :) however I would file a complaint with that agent because that's certainly not good service for your big day!

Hope it all falls into place :)

The  upgrade gaurantee could be to royal golden or diamond club.  These are upgrades but separate from the Don Pablo.  You have to be booked into the Don Pablo to get those Don Pablo upgrades.  I was there in April it was $25.00 per person per day for upgrades from Regular Grand Bahia to Don Pablo section.

    Thanks everyone!

Hi if you send me your email address I can send you some pics that i received of the piscis.  It is a covered outdoor area right by the beach.  They do decorate it with mini lights on the trees but you can add lanterns etc if you want to add some colour.  It's a beautiful setting as I was there on vacation just this April.  You will get beautiful sunset shots.  It is quite informal, but  the view to me is what made me choose it for my reception.  Also it's private, away from most things.  There is a bar there too.  If your looking for more formal then I would suggest the Italian restaurant which is right next door.  I have pics of that too.  The Italian restaurant is indoors, they have a little section off to the side which they reserve for weddings etc.  It's away from the main resort guests.  If you don't want to pay for the Piscis, but still want that private feeling then this would be the way to go.  The steakhouse is not private at all......i did not like that.....however I liked the food there.  If you rent the Piscis, yu can choose your menu from any of the restaurants.  Hope this helps.

I'm doing the Piscis too! I think it's a beautiful setting. AND it includes the DJ for four hours unlike the other resturants.

My mom actually called to speak with Someone a couple weeks ago. If you have Over 50 guests who HAVE to pay for a private dinner and the Piscis is cheaper than the private dinner at one of the restaurants. So it was an easy decision.

    211 more days.....

I feel like a kid on a long car drive, "are we there yet? Are we there yet".

As far as  Piscis is concerned........ do you have your dinner there to?  I'm liking the idea of this location.  I understand that you pay 1700.00 for this location and that it includes a DJ and open bar..  Do you only get the bar for 2 hrs though as per the romance extravaganza package?   If anyone has any info on this it would be much appreciated.

I had the same issue with my original date.  I had called them and spoke verbally on the phone they said they would confirm and i heard nothing.  So i sent an email and they sent me an email with confirmation of my date.  Now i have it as proof in case of double booking.  I also sent another email weeks back and no response......i know they are busy.....but just a quick reply would be adequate and settle my concerns.  I just want to relax and let them take care of everything.......and I will,  once I get that email.  I might cut and paste the email and resend, and hope that will work.

Things have changed a lot in the last few years with this resort then because people didn't have to pay before. That's a bummer!

Does anyone know what the "Remember" package is? Donnalee told me that's the package they use for vow renewal and symbolic weddings, but that wasn't included in the packages she sent me.

Check out the Grand Bahia Principe website.  They list wedding packages there.  I'm pretty sure I saw the remember package on it.  Check it out:)

Does anyone have any clue what this new "Don Pablo Collection" option is for the wedding packages? Are we now able to do our dinner there, or what's the difference that makes that package option $150 more?

Love that they've included the 2 hour bar in a package finally! And it's pretty cool that your parents get special treatment as well

Also, how many people have done their legal marriage prior to GBP? Do they refund you the $250 minister fees? Is there a nonreligious ceremony option? The FI and I are not religious in the least bit.

Love this thread! Anyone else looking to get married November 2014?

I am thinking that the Don Pablo collection offers premium drinks in the package.  I was there last month staying at the Don Pablo and this was a great thing for me as I am fussy with drinks and they served nicer wine.  You could call the concierge and they would bring drinks (wine bucket/ice/glassess etc) right to your room.  It was a nice touch.  I am in a quandry now as I want that service when I go for my wedding but don't want to exclude myself from our guests.   Other than that, I don't know what else it entails.  I sent an email but they didn't answer it except saying it was a VIP service!!!!!  That helped.....lol

  10. Hi, Its quite a walk from the piscis restaurant to the other bars by the pool and lobby for your guests to get drinks. This is the same situation for the gazebo. I feel it's a bit of a rip off that you pay all that money for the rental of the private facility but you still have to pay for the bar and bartender!!!!! Especially since it is an all inclusive resort. The fact that you bring so many guests to their hotel should be a huge consideration on their part. Barb

  11. Why pay to get married twice!!!!! Even if you get married at your home you still have to pay when you get to the resort. It would be a symbolic ceremony only which yes you do sign papers but they are not legit...lol. Lots of brides going to Mexico do this because of the legalities down there, but Jamaica is fine...... I had considered this scenario too, but it just didin't sit well with me not getting officially married in Jamaica with all my friends and family paying so much to be there for me...... Not to mention, I wnat the day I say "I DO" to be the real deal......Just my opinion :)

  12. I just returned from there last month. There are 2 parts to this beach. One by the Gazebo with is rocky and good for snorkeling, but its quiet and private which is great for a wedding. The main part of the beach in my opinion is great. There are lots of palapas for shade and sun loungers, and failing that trees for shade. The beach is man made but it is beautiful......not Negril by any means but still awesome. You can walk out in the water up to your neck, its very protected and I did not encounter many rocks there. It all depends on which part of the beach you are at I expect. I was at the Don Pablo section which is faily close to the Jerk Chicken Hut "Pisces". It's great if you have floaties too......just make sure you have lots of sun lotion on!!!! lol
