Are you planning on wearing your hair down or any other accessories (necklace, earrings?) I think that affects the belt vs. no belt as well. If you hair style is going to be simple, and no neckle, and no or simple earrings.... I vote the belt. It adds an extra something to the look.

I wasn't going to bother with arranged seating. I figure one of the peak points of having our wedding in Jamaica is the laid back, no worries atmosphere. Everybody is going to be subjected to one another for 7 days, so they can choose their own seating as far as I'm concerned . We will have a separate head table, and can figure out where we should sit in relation but otherwise I'm not concerned about it. We also aren't going to be doing many speeches or anything like that so it's not important to us to have a seating plan.

Date: November 12, 2014 Time: Around 4pm likely Hotel: Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Ceremony Location: Beach Front Cocktail Hour: Undecided, maybe Beach Bar... probably before dinner, after the ceremony Reception Type: Maybe semi-private, depending on size of group Reception Location: Aunt Ruby's maybe Reception Time: 7-10:30pm Music: Steel Pan drums for cocktail or reception, undecided Photographer: Bringing my own (family friend) Videographer: Bringing my own Travel Coordinator: Not 100% decided. I sent mine out in May! Since you're a year off, if you're going to send them you should probably do so soon! We just wanted to give everybody as much notice as we could so that we wouldn't feel guilty when people tell us 1.5 years later they "couldn't save" and "didn't have enough time". Selfish reason, but it makes it easier haha. We had debated doing STD or just invites, but since it's destination decided to do both

Awesome, thanks! We are beginning to discuss making our invites, the FI and I... wondering about the best way to do this. In order to get a good quote, we need a good estimation on the group count for the travel agent. But we won't really know that until we get RSVPs back from the invites. But we really wanted to send pricing info WITH the invites... lol. Ideas? I was just going to ask people personally if they are thinking they will come or not, get the group quote, then send that out with the invites. Did you guys have people mail back RSVPs or just email? We sent out Save the Dates last month won't do invites until later this year!

Thank you for the help!! We will be having about 50 people as well . Which menu items did you use at the Calabash? Is it easy enough to just ask your guests what they want and specify beforehand versus subjecting them all to the same item? Where did you fly from? I'm still in the silly mindset of over-worrying about how much guests will have to pay, we just really want to keep it below $1600 each if we can, so that's why we were leaning towards the Beach originally... but especially since there will be some children coming, the Suites would be more fun for them we figured.

I usually use this one: "[email protected]" And Loreto Lazo always responds within about a week or so. I'll be coming from Toronto, ON!

We haven't asked all the available dates, just specific ones. But I find they answer their emails within a week at least, which is better than a lot of other places. We were looking at the Beach, but are considering the Suites if we can get a good quote. Where are you coming from?

Okay, I got info for the suites. But now looking at prices for guests, it seems the Suites might be about $500 more a person. Has anyone found that this is worth it? Or are the Beach facilities just fine? Which restaurant would you recommend for reception at Suites, and did you do a semi-private, private, or open? Heeeeelp! haha

What date are you looking at for November 2014? That's when I'm looking at too!

Does anyone think the upgrade to the Suites is worth the additional money? My mother is all over this and thinks the lazy river and additional options would be a better suggestion for the group.

Thank you . I finally received information about the Suites' weddings. Has anyone noticed that the Suites doesn't offer a semi-private dinner? Just public or completely private? At least that's how it looks on the paperwork they sent me.
