  1. cmingalone - I am booked for a reception dinner at Jellyfish in February.  We will be staying at the Colonial.  Have you thought about transportation for your guests? I'm hearing that Majestic has a free shuttle to the Jellyfish restaurant! I hope that's true!!
I don't know, I doubt it. Heard the ME and MC is a good 30 min drive to JF. JF offers shuttle bus reasonably priced for pick up and drop off
  2. I am on the FB page for ME brides an I am freaking out at the sheer volume of brides who mentioned that they themselves (Bride/groom/wedding party) got sick or guests got sick...is this an outbreak happening at the ME??

For US citizens we dont have access to Dukoral. :(:( My FI and I are leaving in 2 weeks for vacation/wedding planning and then  we are set to bring 40 guest back in Feb for our wedding..INCLUDING my 6 year old daughter. I am on the verge of tears right now

  3. Is anyone aware of the large number of cholera outbreaks coming out DR in the last 60 days? Specifcally large numbers of brides reporting some sort of illnesses of themselves, bridal parties or guests who stayed at Majestic Elegance have been coming back sick over the last 60 days!.....

Have any other resorts reported illnesses?

  4. Hello Everyone, When is your wedding? She just sent all the menu and decor options to me and said we would start communicating regularly about 45 days before wedding. For me to send her one file with table/reception decor I like and one for ceremony and one for cake and flowers. I just used prices off her sheets to over estimate and set my budget. I was wondering how much is it costing everyone for decorations and flowers for your ceremony and reception at the Jellyfish? Did you send pictures of what you wanted to Mayte and she gave you a quote? I feel like when I ask her about things like that she is a bit too vague for comfort. Please help!
  5. Hi. Can anyone give me information (or who to contact at the Majestic Elegance) for rehearsal dinner, welcome party, bonfire, whatever else could pass for a pre-wedding get together? I sent an email to the Majestic site (wedding coordinators and meeting planners) for this information but it has been three weeks and I have not received a reply. I'm getting married at the Jellyfish but my guests are staying at the Elegance. Thanks!
I'm in same boat, getting married at JF in February but want to organize welcome dinner/ drinks. It can't be so hard, I thought it should be as simple as making reservation they guest relations the week before we leave..? I'm headed down July 18th for vacay so I'm going to try to meet with someone. We are brining 40 people to stay at their resort

I need some help with pricing. I am wondering if anyone who is staying at the Majestic Resorts has, or is planning on having, a photographer and stylist come to the resort prior to leaving for the Jellyfish and what the vendor cost is (seeing as neither of them are staying there longer than 2-3 hours and we are not getting married on their property)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Forgot to "quote" you when I replied to your question..please see last page of thread regarding off site vendors at Majestic :)
  7. Majestic-Vendor on site-to pay fees or not... We are staying at the Majestic Elegance for our Feb 28th -2014 wedding. We are getting married at the Jellyfish, so I have opted not to pay any outside vendor fees for makeup/photographer to come onsite. I would rather put that money towards upgarded items for the reception. I am going to use the bride room that was just completed at the Jellyfish to get ready and I have requested for Anna N. (Makup/hair) to come there. It also allows me time to check on the progress of set-up etc...to ensure it is the way I want it and I can work with Mayte in person for any last minute changes or updates...IE: weather/additonal guests etc.... I plan to arrive at the JF around 10am. I have opted not to use much time for "getting ready" photos..honestly this is my second marriage and I had 2 hrs of getting ready in my room and various shots of drinking champagne with bridal party.. for the first wedding and those photos have styed in a box since the day I recevied them..I never framed any or put any of them out. THey were really great to look at but that is about it...I preferred to have reception photos framed. I would rather use my time allotment for full reception converage thatn me in my bra getting into my dress...
