  1. I would recommend that everyone get trash the dress photos! We paid $600 for a 1 hour session, but it was totally worth it. Our TTD pics turned out to be my favorite pics we got. It was really fun to do too. The experience is worth it! Now we have pictures that are beautiful enough to blow up as pieces of art too! As for the dress, I got a polyester dress from Davids Bridal in their $99 sale. The only real similarity to my actual dress was the sweetheart neckline. It was perfect though! The polyester didn't absorb water which made it easy to work with. It also worked really well in the water and mad for pretty pics. If you don't want to spend the extra money on a second dress, everyone says that their dress comes out fine after a good rinse. I was just too nervous to try that.... My two cents though.... Every bride deserves to get a beautiful set of pictures like this! TOTALLY WORTH IT!
  2. I used Marvin with Maya Floral for my wedding in June. I paid $165 for my bridal bouquet. The cost saver here was... i got the bridesmaid bouquets for $75 apiece and then used them as my center pieces for the reception. It was perfect! It saved us so much money not buying 5 extra center pieces too!
  3. We used Maya Floral for our wedding. We got bridesmaid bouquets, my bouquet, and a ton of rosea petals. The work was perfect, they got to the hotel right on time, and they are priced very fairly. I would recommend getting a quote form them for sure!
  4. I got my TTD dress at Davids Bridal on SUPER SALE! It was 100% polyester, which turned out to be perfect because it didn't absorb water!

No one stopped dancing the entire night! If you are looking for a big celebration or party, then you should definitely put money for a good DJ into your budget. I went through a period where Ivan didn't respond right away, but I just emailed him a couple times with the same message and he got back to me. GOOD LUCK!

If your FI is just nervous about the water, I would recommend doing pictures at the beach. It is a great compromise. I was the only one that got fully submerged in the water. We mainly just stayed in the shallow rocky area. Our pictures turned out beautiful! I really hope he changes his mind though, because our TTD pics turned out to be the best pics we got! I was nervous when we started, the a good photographer will tell you where to go, what to do, and what looks great. It really is a once in a lifetime opportunity! 8. I wore a veil at my beach wedding... The pictures were fabulous! The only problem I had was that it was a windy day Andy veil was getting blown all over the place before the wedding... We got creative and fastened iron either side to the back of my dress so it would lie down... But definitely something to think about.... Overall though, veils make for beautiful pictures and you don't have to wear it the whole night. A tip with flowers in the hair too... Be careful putting in real flowers in Mexico because in hot and humid weather it won't take much time at all for the flower to wilt and look sad. Get a real touch silk flower so it stays pretty all night!
  9. Everyone should expect to just enjoy themselves. I just got married at the royal in June and our guests mainly hung out by the pool or beach and relaxed. We did find ourselves hanging out in big groups a lot, playing volleyball, etc. As for meals, don't expect to eat in very large groups because typically the hotel will only make reservations for 8 or less. We did have larger groups eat the Spice, the buffet, a few times and the hotel is more accommodating at other restaurants if it isn't peak hours. Basically, everyone treated it as a vacation. It really is a ton of fun having so many people you love on vacation with you. A bunch of our friends are already trying to plan and "anniversary" trip! The only thing i can say for you is get ready to live on caffeine. All your guests will be super relaxed, but you will probably feel obligated to run around seeing everyone every day. But just enjoy every second!
  10. Our wedding colors were royal blue and ivory with touches of hot pink and sparkle. I wanted the pink to show in the flowers so I got my girls hot pink roses and my bouquet was a mixture of roses, daisies, and calla lilies and mostly hot pink with a few lighter shades of pink mixed in. It turned out perfect! If you are getting married in the Playa del Carmen area I would strongly recommend contacting Marvin at Maya Floral.
  11. Here is a picture of me and my grooms rings. He had mine made one of a kind with 2 yellow diamonds surrounding a center diamond. His ring has been passed down in his family. It means a lot to him
  12. I would recommend to be careful with linen. It wrinkles really easily. If you want to do tan I would at least to a blend material. Less fuss... We decided on charcoal slacks for the guys and a charcoal suit for my groom. They looked classy but understated. In the end we just went to men's warehouse and made them try on a ton of stuff until we decided what looked best. Best of luck! The men's clothes was the hardest wardrobe choice we made!
  13. We went for a more informal look since we were going to be outside on the beach in mexico in the summer time. I still got the guys to wear slacks and let them roll up their sleeves. My groom wore a slim cut suit that looked relaxed but really classy.
