  1. Matt- This is one of the weddings that got me rethinking my stance! Love this wedding---and I JUST realized that this is the THE Arlenis, of Le Reve fame! The fact that she had her wedding here says volumes about the quality of this venue.
  2. Jessica: I read an article in Brides magazine last night/early morning on color palettes that might be helpful (in the most recent issue I believe). This application on their website appears to be free: http://www.brides.com/wedding-ideas/wedding-style/color-studio-tool
  3. Very sad news, both for the family of the deceased young woman and the young man who has to live with this for the rest of his life. I hope that safeguards are in place to prevent anything like this from happening again.
  4. Jessica: Have you tried pinterest? It's a great place to see examples of color schemes: http://pinterest.com/jene4423/wedding-color-schemes/
  5. Congratulations! The DR is beautiful, and I know that you'll find lots of brides on here ready to help you with your final decision. Welcome!
  6. I love this idea! Even if it doesn't fit into my budget, I'm sure that a few of us could go here and hang out with the turtles for the day!
  7. It's tough...I am looking at some other venues in the area so we'll see what happens!
  8. Choco- I am so backwards! I am still in the process of finalizing my venue for the actual wedding but think I have a dress. (My venue of choice, Grand Coral Beach Club, decided to institute a very large new site fee. However, I am still leaning toward staying at NJ.) You also must be psychic, because I've never mentioned a dress, but I tried on a Mori Lee yesterday! LOL LOL I think I have settled on a dress (not a Mori Lee), and I have to say, I am very surprised by my choice but pleased---especially as it is way under budget. I'm just waiting for it to go on sale, even though it's fairly inexpensive now.
  9. Shara: One of the ways that I pitched a DW to my FH is that we could save money by having the wedding and the honeymoon in one locale. We will definitely move to another resort, but will try to stay in the Riviera Maya area. P.S. I have entered a number of honeymoon contests, so if we win one of them, all bets are off!
  10. Lizzie: I think this dress looks great on you: nice silhouette and love the lacy pattern. I do think the rhinestone adds something to it for sure, but I might consider getting a belt with just a bit more width to it. However, the belt is still very nice, and I think I'm just trying to gild the lily! LOL
  11. I have a question for BV brides. I was all set to book Grand Coral Beach Club, when my coordinator told me that they are instituting a new, very large site fee! Booo! However, after looking at the amazing weddings at BV (photographed by Del Sol, of course!) I am really starting to look at BV with fresh eyes. Are there any other brides getting married here? Any past brides have comments or advice on this venue?
  12. Girl, you are serving it up in that dress! Absolutely stunning!
  13. ETA: Rather, what template did you use? I know you mentioned that you used your cricut machine.
  14. Lala-Would you mind sharing the program that you used to cut out your invitations?
  15. Thanks so much for these links---I entered quite a few more contests today. Note: There are a lot of links with deadlines today or later this week, so enter away everyone!
  16. I use a wedding email for all of my wedding-related stuff. Using a gmail account is the best option, IMHO, not the least reason is because now they sort your email into categories, including: primary, social and promotions.
  17. Thanks so much. If I'm honest, the stress is really starting to hit me this morning (delayed reaction?) LOL
  18. Ladies: I truly appreciate your support. It means a lot! Basically, the story is this: I had a date on hold (via my planner), but the Grand Coral Beach Club (GC) was not allowing brides to book until they came out with the new menus. Unfortunately, with the new menus came a new $2000 site fee. Given that it's about $4000 to rent the entire place out, I think this is absolutely ludicrous, as I'm using their food and staff. My planner was very surprised about the whole thing, as this fee seemed to come out of nowhere. I have a feeling that GC may lose some business over this whole thing. FH tried to make some suggestions about having the wedding elsewhere, but there is no way that I'm having the wedding where we live or in my hometown. FL would mean that his parents would try to invite all of their friends, as would having it on certain Caribbean islands. No thank you! I'm just going to trust my planner to do what she does best.
  19. Miss Jali- They JUST announced the new fee, which I can't help but think has something to do with the fact that they are becoming more and more popular. *sigh*
  20. Oh sorry, I forgot to include that! I had planned for 60 at the maximum. At this rate, FH and I will be eloping! LOL
  21. No invites or save the dates, but now I'm worried that I'll have to cut the list even more if I have it off-resort.
  22. Well, my planner is working on it, so I'm not quite ready to panic just yet.
  23. I completely had envisioned my wedding and reception in that space. Grand Coral Beach Club was my top choice, and there was nothing else that came even close.
