That is so funny! My FI was the same, he wanted 5 and I only wanted 1... He won the battle, but I have to say, I really enjoyed his enthusiasm as well!

I would pressure her to let you know ASAP if she is going, and include how expensive everything will be...to discourage her. She sounds like a selfish jerk, you shouldn't feel bad for not wanting her up there next to you.

This is so interesting. I was going to ENCOURAGE guests to take photos, b/c I thought the best photos were unposed ones, and that's what I usually see from friends, and its such a surprise when ppl see photos of themselves when they don't expect to, but I don't want ppl ruining my professional pictures! I will have to think about this one. I think people are generally sensitive when it comes to posting bad pictures of other people, especially the bride and groom, but I can see why they don't want pics being posted online before they see them.

I have 5 bridesmaids and there are 5 GM. I told my girls I wanted them to have similar dresses, but they could choose it themselves. They are also paying for it themselves. Same with the guys-they are wearing gray pants and white button downs. Hopefully they already own a pair. We are giving them rainbow flip flops, engraved compacts for the girls and monogrammed toiletry bags for the guys, as well as welcome bags , so we don't feel bad at all. We also don't care that much about what they're wearing.

We paid for our wedding party's attire, gave them gifts let them know 2 years in advance of our wedding. So the people that stood in our wedding didn't pay any extra than a regular guest would have. No one in our bridal party gave us a card or gift. Which I know they paid a great deal to travel but at least get us a card we went out of our way to buy attire, shoes, jewelry, monogrammed Champagne flutes,  accessories that they can wear again and again not to mention their welcome bags filled with items Cups, flip flops, sunglasses, etc.... I have always paid for my own bridesmaid dresses and shoes outfits that I will never have a use for again (i.e. satin heels dyed purple with rhinestones) My girls had sundress with straw wedges. Our groomsmen we gave chucks. If I had to do it again I would only get the basic gifts that i was given for standing i.e. the monogrammed champagne flute. My effort definitely went unappreciated. Man, that really sucks!!!

I like simple, so I don't think you need more either. However, I do like the really tall hurricanes with a floating candle, with a flower stem (like an orchid) in the water. And then you line them down the aisle. I also like the baskets of flowers hanging on the chairs down the aisle.

Good idea about handing them out at the Welcome Dinner, I think I will do that too. I wanted them to be in each room for the guests arrival (b/c I thought it would be such a great surprise!) but I don't want to pay the hotel to deliver them. Plus I have some guests staying at different hotels. Lugging everything down there will definitely be a pain, but I think it will be worth it!

Some people really suck. Everytime I got a comment like that, I couldn't help myself and said "no one is making you come" b/c I honestly did not want anyone there with an attitude like that. Sorry, but it's MY wedding. I now just walk away- my mother made a comment like "why bother having a DW if..." and I literally walked out of the restaurant during a family dinner (it was an argument that was building). I was tired of getting into fights and defending my choices. My FSIL also made me annoyed once, and we were talking about it this w/e, and I had to stop the conversation, b/c it's just not worth it! It's easier said than doen, but we have to do what we want to do- we only get one wedding (hopefully).

It's awkward, and easier said than done, but I HATE it when ppl get their feelings hurt about anything about your wedding. I'm sorry, but I thought it was MY wedding. I say do what you want. I changed one small thing about my wedding, and I regret it and think about it constantly. I wish I had stood my ground. You should do what YOU want on YOUR day.

wow,all of the four seems very very pretty with specific condition,but as to me,i will not accept black wedding dress,and white dress will be more perfect for the big day,it is sacred and stand for our pure love. First of all, I LOVE the idea of a black wedding dress. The bride wants to stand,out right?! I love it, but I couldn't take all the looks ppl we're giving me. But everything's Vera wang does is flawless.

Yes...why why why do ppl think its better for us to wonder if they are coming, than to just say no. I'm thinking about doing electronic invites, with "pages" of info for wedding 411, RSVP, FAQ...maybe a better way to get RSVPs?
