Hey ya'll! After discussing current fitness goals and routines in another thread, I thought I'd introduce myself more and share my own fitness lifestyle and plans as I near my big day. Would love to hear from all of you ladies! Here's some background on me... My name is Katie and I live in Alberta, Canada Grew up in New Brunswick, played basketball and tons of group sports for the province, and generally loved being active. Once I began my Hns in Psych, the iron (ie. gym) became my passion. I came to love lifting deeply and since then have been educating myself, trying new things, and basically using my body as a test experiment Coming into my Master in Counselling psych, I really stepped up the training, and found a lifestyle that suited my goals - Fighter Diet, by Pauline Nordin. Her approach to workouts, nutrition, and much more inspired me to push myself further than I thought I could. Specifically, she helped me finally take the plunge into gaining the muscle I always dreamed of. For years I had trained and basically spun my wheels with undereating for the most part. In May of 2012, I began a very methodical and slow build to gain the muscle I wanted. I am very diligent with tracking, and there are simply no shortcuts to where anyone wants to go. So I have developed incredible patience with this process! A year has passed, and I am happy with how I've progressed, both mentally and physically. The mental aspect to training and this lifestyle is what keeps me going the most I think. So with a wedding coming up in early 2014, I plan on continuing to eat at my current surplus of calories until a small lean down a few months prior! I am going to continue as long as possible My training schedule is a 5 day split, although I am switching to a new type of program for next 4 weeks: day 1 - delts day 3 - legs (hamstrings - deadlifts, etc.) day 5 - chest/triceps day 7 - quad focus leg day day 9 - back/biceps Over next 4 weeks, I will be doing Kris Gethin's DTP program (bodybuilding.com). Here are some pics of me (trust me I am not a vain selfie photo taker, these are few and far between lol), along with Erin Stern who is a tall lady like me and is a fitness superwoman! (I am 5'10", not common to find tall women in the sport!) TRAIN HARD YA'LL!
