  1. Hi Cynthia, if you are a new poster it can take a while for your posts to appear as they seem to be checked by moderators Hope this helps x
  2. Wow Vivalicious, your dress is stunning! I'm glad you are happy with it! They did such a good job with it. It makes me feel even more excited about my DressilyMe dress seeing how well yours turned out I'd love to see some more pics of close up details If you do take any more pics, would you mind taking a pic of the inside of the bodice? Apologies for not seeing your posts sooner, I've been away at my brothers wedding in another part of the country. My new SIL's dress cost £4,000...over $6,000USD. She did look stunning in it though. It will be interesting to see how my £160 Dressily gown compares!
  3. Ooooh so your dress is on its way now?? You must be so excited! I asked for functional buttons on top of a zip and they said they wouldn't include the loops to cover the zip so went with lace up instead, you did well to get them to agree to it! Please post pics of your dress, I'd love to see it! How did you get them to send you pictures? They told me that they couldn't as they are too busy at this time of year x
  4. Krager, that dress is beautiful! A "true" mermaid, she looks like she has come straight from a magical underwater princess land! Please do share pics when that beauty arrives!
  5. I could kiss you Thankyou so much, you are brilliant I just had a panic there, one of the downsides of ordering a dress online haha, I should have been wise like you and ordered a colour chart but didn't even think of it!
  6. Help help I'm panicking, hope someone replies... I ordered my dress from dressilyme in Ivory a couple of days ago. Reading the internet, they say ivory at dressilyme is very white. The problem is, I'm ginger. Pale skin. Pure white dresses looked very stark on me. Is the ivory dressilyme dress going to wash me out??? Should I have asked for a different shade?
  7. Glad you like me dress too I wouldn't count on being able to return your dress if you buy it custom made - even if their T's & C's say they take returns some won't in practice, and you will have to pay for the shipping which is nearly as expensive as the dress! If I were you I would get a quote from either DressilyMe, Babyonline @ DHgate or Jasmines (or all three) depending on your budget - Jasmines is most expensive, followed by Dressily then Babyonline but I think the price reflects the quality, although many people on this board have been happy. All of those sellers will custom make a dress from a photo. The way I see it, ordering online from China is a risk, but some money can always be recouped by selling unless it really is awful And we might just end up with the gowns of our dreams with a tiny pricetag! Work has now started on my dress, super excited
  8. This is an honest opinion: I love your dress and have dress envy despite the fact that I only ordered my dress yesterday! (my post saying about it is in moderation). It is beautiful. Utterly beautiful - but then I am a sucker for lace dresses
  9. Well ladies, I have finally ordered my dress! DressilyMe had this dress http://www.dressilyme.com/p-stunning-satin-tulle-a-line-bateau-neckline-natural-waistline-wedding-dress-38078.html on sale for a few hours for a crazy price of £77 (about $120 USD) so I took the plunge and got a custom size (extra £10 or $15 ish) and asked for a load of changes including: - Sweetheart neckline - Lace up back - "V" shape on back - Detachable lace straps - Detachable belt - Extra 1ft length on train as I'm very tall These extra changes cost $55USD so £35. $28 or £18 shipping Total cost: approx $210 USD or £135 GBP! I also looked to see what import tax/duty will be on my dress - £27 which isn't bad at all. I'm so excited and will definitely post a detailed review when I get the dress and also post any progress pics if I get them!
  10. PS To edit the photo and add arrows and text, I just opened a photo in Paint and did it that way, nothing clever, just used the line tool to draw arrows and added text boxes. Quite crude but seems to do the trick x
  11. Who did you use MrsAC2B? I think going with white is probably a good idea...can't believe they went with what is clearly pink instead of nude! The original is gorgeous x
  12. Congrats on placing your order, that dress is beautiful! Who did you order from in the end?
  13. Dressily gets fab reviews on ProjectWedding http://www.projectwedding.com/groups/boards/dressilyme-dress-es , from posters with lots of posts to their name so more likely to be genuine Also plenty of positive experiences with them on this thread x
  14. Which do you think you will go with? I'm torn between babyonline and Dressilyme - Dressilyme has a sale on at the moment but it will probably be over by July when I get my measurements professionally taken
  15. Vivalicious: To be honest, I think Jasmines, DressilyMe and Babyonline all do fab work, the quality seems to increase with the price so pick whichever one fits with your budget
  16. Congrats Carla! Which DHgate seller did you use? I'm a UK bride too, Suffolk, and we're planning a honeymoon in Mexico That Essence dress is lovely, make sure you show us when it arrives! I've pretty much decided on using Babyonline at Dhgate, just need to wait to get my measurements taken by a seamstress and try on another couple of dresses in bridal shops just to be sure!
  17. Hi ladies, I have been browsing this thread since I got engaged, it is absolutely fascinating to read all of the experiences of brides kind enough to share their dresses! I have decided to go ahead and order my dress from China. There are two dresses that I have tried on and loved...firstly the Sottero and Midgley Phoebe, with a request for beads instead of sequins and detachable lace straps! I have been quoted USD $299 from Dressilyme and $189 from Babyonline @ DHgate. I want it in ivory though, the dress looks kinda grey in the photos? Even though the maggie website says it is ivory... Do you think the Dressily/babyonline would make it ivory or with a grey tinge like the pictures? I'm not sure how to explain to them what I mean! The second dress is the Pronovias Barroco (also with detachable lace straps), but I'm worried the tulle would be scratchy. I have so many questions, if any ladies can help I'd love to hear your thoughts: 1) Which dress do you prefer? For reference, I am 6ft tall without shoes. Size 4-6 in US sizes according to a conversion chart, 8-10 in uk sizes. 2) Do you prefer the phoebe with or without the sash/brooch under the bust? 3) Do you think Dressily and Babyonline are both capable of these dresses? Which would be more suited to which dress in your opinion? 4) What sort of neckline do you think would like best on me? This is a hurriedly snapped pic of me in a straight neckline dress, bridal shops in my area are SO hot on no pics! Its the only dress pic we have managed to sneak - please forgive the quality! Sorry for such a long post, I'd love to hear your opinions! xxxxxx
