I feel like I'm the only one who hasn't talked with Cecilia yet!! I guess I'd better reach out to her. Are any of you doing an event the day after or before. I want to do a welcome party and either an excursion or brunch the next day. Quote: Originally Posted by Ashleyloriann I haven't gotten married yet but we have booked DJ Mannia for our DJ. I have made a lot of trades and everyone else on here has too from what I've read so I would talk to Cecilia about it again. We are using an outside photographer & florist so we are getting a sound system for the ceremony and getting the gazebo decorated. The corsages they put on the gazebo I am going to have them put on the tables as centerpieces after the ceremony on the bridal party tables. I also opted out of the cocktail hour so instead of that we get 10 people comped for dinner. Hope this helps

Glad I'm not the only one stressing this one. My FI's parents STILL haven't booked. Which I find super annoying bc they say they are for sure coming. My travel agent always makes it seem that usually her brides have more ppl book right away, so she's actually making me feel worse about it. My dress just came in as well! It fits, but will need some contouring. I want to lose 20 too though! Argh, my FI makes it so hard! We are having our engagement photos taken in two weeks and will be doing invites late October, early November. I'm planning to have a little DIY party to put together the passport invites, OOT bags, and possibly some other stuff. Quote: Originally Posted by Tantan Wow, you ladies sound super organized! Still haven't decided on my dress although I am givingyself till the end of this week to make a decision. I sent out invitations a while back as we live in London and needed to give quite abit of notice to our friends and family to get to Cancun. I haven't sorted bridesmaids as some of those I would like till haven't confirmed whether they're coming yet. Which is a pain! But hey! Are you guys traveling with guests? And how many do you have confirmed? I feel like it's so close, and only a few of mine have confirmed, getting quite worried that we'll have no guests! Lol xx Quote: Originally Posted by TuffLuv I have decided I am no longer going to worry about who's coming and who's not as long as my parents, his mother, & my brother are there. Initially I stressed over guest but I can't. If it's just me and my FI then so be it. Right now we have about 20 confirmed. I think more will confirm but like I said I'm not going to stress about it. Those who can't attend can celebrate with us at our AHR and see pics then. I would say try not to worry about your guest count (if you can). Af2492 My tip, don't get too overwhelmed on here. I started getting really freaked because I kept seeing all this stuff other brides were doing. I kinda got wrapped up in it all. But I stepped away from wedding planning for a couple months because we bought a house (!) Now I realize that part of the appeal if the destination is NOT having to get obsessed with planning. We'll anyway maybe I was just venting! You may be excited to do a bunch of planning! Lol

Congratulations! That's my date too!!! We are getting married at dreams Cancun!

Yeah, I'm sending to everyone already booked. I'm planning to do passport invites. Hopefully they'll be super cute, so I want everyone to have one. I'm debating on sending to those already declined. But I hope that people will just view it as a sign of respect not a request for a gift! Lol! Idk, I feel like everyone who is invited would appreciate a real invite. That's my plan anyway.

No, I'm gonna keep it, at least for now. Idk, it seems like many brides trade that, but I am not planning to at this point. I still don't get why it matters if there's another wedding. Whether your reception starts at 5 or 530 doesn't change the fact that your reception location and the location for the other ceremony will have to be different. It doesn't make sense.? If you kept the cocktail hour and traded at the last minute, I wonder what would happen? How much have you talked with your WC?

Ashley, have you read many of the reviews on here of the resort? Most of the brides have seemed to indicate that once there, the coordinators were really accommodating and even gave them extras. Did they give you any reason? Obviously, wait and see isn't a good answer, but I think they will accommodate you. Maybe email the general coordinator email?

Thanks Jenny! I hope that's not the case, but if so, I'll figure it out. What type of item do you think they'd count the photography as? I'm definitely not going to use their photog, so I really want to trade for that. I guess worst case, I can ask them to be there for our welcome party and goodbye brunch. But I'd really prefer to have something I need! Lol Ashley, I'll let you know what I find out. I prob won't email my coordinator for another week or so. Just trying to get all my thoughts together.

Yes, phone and email. There has been a hiccup or two, but overall she's been super helpful! We did a group rate which saved my guests about 400ish. So yeah. Plus we can do payments through their site, I sent eSTDs from the site for free, made a wedding site, and a honeymoon registry. The $50 deposit you make goes towards your trip. So it's a free service. There are others aw well. I understand the owners of this site also offer a similar service. I'd def recommend working with someone.
