  1. Does anyone know if you can pay extra to have a plated dinner in the terrace? I'm reviewing the menu options and am not really a fan.
  2. Thanks for posting Kristie! Now I can have some numbers to plug into my budget. Gotta love these boards!!
  3. Cool thread. I think I will be posting on here once I decide on my dress.
  4. These dresses are just beautiful. I too am looking for something very similar. With the lowcut open back, detailed straps, and fitted going down. Unfortunately the designers I LOVE are way out of my price range. Did you wind up ordering the knockoff online? If so, how has the process been so far? So here is the dress I have decided on: Top of Dress Back of Dress Dress on London Runway - I just want a longer train I have requested quotes from: - Babyonline (no reply yet) - Jasmine's Bridal (no reply as they are behind on their replies) - EnjoyWeddingLife ($179) - DressilyMe (refused to make due to the complexity of the top bra) I am a tall (5'9") female with a naturally large chest (34D) and a small waist (26"). So I need a dress with support otherwise I just look frumpy - but I've always dreamed of having a backless dress as I am muscular (Bikini competitor at bodybuilding shows) so I consider my backside a major asset. I plan on having a lace veil to match the length of the train. What do y'all think? this is my first post so it may take a while for the pictures to show. Thanks! *hugs*
  5. I'd like to know if you don't mind sharing with me. Can you PM me? Thanks Kristie.
  6. Yes, I'm in the States. Thank you for your help. I just wish someone would get back to me already so I can at least reserve my date. I don't however have a TA. I'm not sure if I want to book directly through Palace or try to find a TA. Which is why my last post was asking for a reference on a TA in NJ.
  7. Or does anyone have a TA they would recommend using? I live in NJ, so someone up here would be ideal. Thanks
  8. Does anyone know what the cancellation policy is? Can I just give a deposit to at least reserve my date and then in the meantime get all of my million and one questions answered? If at that point I change my mind, I can pull out. I have been sending quite a few emails to Palace and have no heard back from them.
  9. These are very nice. How much did the entire thing cost you for all of the materials? How many did you make?
  10. Thank you for responding to my post Kristie. The travel agent that your guests booked through, was that your own personal TA? Or was it from Palace? As for the menu options, I actually had it in one of my emails so no need to send that over. Thanks anyway
  11. Hello Lovely Brides out there, I am an OCD bride-to-be (April/May 2014) with a million questions that I hope someone out there can shine some light to my darkened Destination Wedding Planning. I have not yet signed a contract with Palace b/c I want to be sure on a few things before I sign on the dotted line. I don't want to get hit with any last minute surprises on the "big day". So to avoid having the added stress of the "what if's", I came up with a list of questions that I feel may or may not be deal breakers. Getting someone from Palace to answer my concerns is becoming quite tasking. So if some kind person out there can help me out, I would appreciate it very much and this process can be a bit more painless. - Is there an additional fee to have a ballroom backup in the event of inclement weather? - What exactly is the outside vendor fee? I've heard a few different prices. But would like to know exactly what someone paid in real life. - Is the venue insured? If there is some unforeseen reason why the venue can not take place, am I covered? I don't want to loose out on my money if a "natural disaster" happened. - What are some taxes or additional fees that any of you had tacked on at the last minute and didn't realize you were going to have to pay for it. I would like to prepare myself as much as possible here. - Does anyone have a sample menu of the reception dinner choices they would like to share with me? - Is there a cake cutting fee? What about a fee for the cake table? - Are coffee/tea served? If so, is there an additional fee for this? - Is there a rehearsal or run through prior to the wedding day? - Did your guests book directly through Palace? If so, what was that experience like? Did they pay upfront for the entire trip, or in partial payments? Did Palace coordinate airfare and ground transportation to/from the airport? - Does Palace provide the bride with a suite or a separate dressing room to get ready in? - What did you guys do to feed your vendors (photographers, videographers, dj's, etc)? Did you include them in your per person package? Or did you just order something else strictly for them? Or do you not feed them at all? - Does the hotel offer a vault in the main office for the bride/groom to hold their wedding bands and any money they receive at the wedding? I know a resort DR did this for a friend of mine who got married there so they would not have to worry about keeping such valuables in their room. In order to access the vault, both parties (bride or groom and hotel manager) had to insert the keys in at the same time to gain access in the vault. I think this is a brilliant idea, b/c it gives you some piece of mind that your belongings are safe. - Did you or your guests get taxed on using their resort credit? I read somewhere online that this is a new policy and people were getting taxed to use there credits. Can anyone confirm that this is true? - Would anyone like to share with me a final invoice listing the total cost? Thank you in advance for whoever takes the time out to answer my questions.
  12. Just wondering if anyone out there can give some insight on what the nightlife in the resort is like?
  13. I would love to see pictures of your venue at the Beach club. Can you PM them to me or email them to me? It can give me a basis of comparison. Thanks

  15. Hello All, I just got engaged 2 weeks ago and am in the process of looking into resorts in the Playa del Carmen area and came across the Paradisus Esmiralda/La Perla. The resort looks amazing and I'm reading some pretty great reviews on this website. I do have an off beat question to ask though. I know that it's an all-inclusive resort, but what type of liquor do they serve? I've stayed in some resort where their "top shelf" is NOT the same as U.S. top shelf. If anyone can shed some light on this, I would greatly appreciate it. Truthfully it may make a difference if I book my wedding here or not. I've been to a destination wedding where the liquor was not what I was used to drinking and got sick from drinking it. So basically for the past 7 days I was SOBER! LOL. Totally not something I want to have happen to my guests on my wedding.
