  1. I think we are doing the DJ which will be expensive.... I definitely agree that it is hard to justify for the small wedding, but I'm planning on only having one, so I will bite the bullet and splurge! It is something we debated, but overall I don't want to worry about the music, just want us and the guests to party carefree
  2. Huge family here, which actually is one of the things that made a DW more desireable. We made the decision to invite immediate family (siblings, parents, grandparents, first aunts/uncles/cousins) and a few very close friends. This firm cutoff on the family side allowed us to avoid hurting feelings and angering people by inviting some distant relatives and not others, which seems to happen to my other relatives when they plan weddings back at home. We have a few aunts/uncles that will get invites that we aren't super close with, but don't worry about them deciding to come anyway.
  3. Still debating on this ourselves. I am thinking of telling everybody to meet in a certain area for drinks the first night. I know I will be flying out as early as possible, so we should have time to toss the bags together before everybody arrives.
  4. I don't think they are necessarily a must, but we are doing them as a gesture of gratitude for our guests spending lots of time/money attending our wedding. I think for larger weddings it would be too difficult, but we are only having about 30 ppl making the trip. We are doing one bag per couple or single person to cut down on the amount of stuff we need to bring as well.
  5. We are doing the legal paperwork afterward so we don't have to screw with worrying about changing passport and other identification til afterward. There's enough other stuff to worry about beforehand planning the trip and wedding details
  6. Package at resort is $3k but each guest over 20 is more for dinner/cocktail hr and we estimate around 30 guests Things added on such as DJ plus the insane taxes will probably be another $2k Air and hotel will be about $3200 - $3500 Not sure on O.O.T. bag costs yet, but probably a few hundred dollars. I also think we will book the airport transfers for our guests. Overall I assume we will land around 10k, maybe a bit more.
  7. We've taken vacations together, so it isn't that big a deal for us. We would rather have close friends and family to have a fun time with than be alone. To each their own, though! Perhaps plan a spa day for the two of you with a couples massage for some alone time?
  8. I was just on Target.com It looks like all of the suit separates as well as all ties are buy one get one 50% off currently. The grey suit looks decent, just not sure if we may want to go with something a little lighter fabric wise or not. The tie sale/selection is pretty good though!
  9. [email protected] It would be greatly appreciated! Not sure what the point of having to have x amount of posts is. I understand wanting traffic, but it also promotes people over-posting things that aren't necessarily worthwhile just to be able to open files that other people post.
  10. Mine I actually sent a facebook message to and then she emailed menus to me. I just suggested email because I figured not all resort concierges have a facebook account set up
  11. Email your resort's concierge as well. Mine was able to send a drink menu.
  12. Quick tip for anyone in the U.S. you can just take out most of that link and change the .ca to .com for some freebies. Ours are worse though! For instance, the Canadian one gives 250 cards whereas the U.S. version is 100 I believe. Anyway, still hard to argue with free!
