  1. I don't think I will feel ready till it's over! LOL. I have my invitations and was putting them together last night. I'm skipping the DJ but thinking we will do the photobooth I'm also using an outside photographer (Dean Sanderson). Can you tell photos are really important to me? You are right, there are just so many details to consider!
  2. We are thinking around 4:30 sunset is 7:15 and we wanted the hour before sunset for pictures, and we want to be at our cocktail hour . Time is going so fast, I'm not ready at all!
  3. . We are wedding buddies! I am getting married April 24, on the Tequila Terrace .
  4. You must be getting really excited! I am doing my own silk flowers for the bouquets and we are taking them with us. I am too much of a control freak to trust a florist I have never met But we are using the resort florist for a couple centerpieces (the one included in the package and one extra) the design I want for those is extremely simple. My invitations came in the other day and they look great I'm still trying to decide the best time to send them though, how far in advance do everyone send theirs?
  5. The menu cards aren't for the guests to pick their meal, it's just a nice addition to each place setting that let's the guests know how many courses will be served and what they are being given since they only get to pick an entree. They aren't necessary but I like the way they add that little something extra to the place setting and I like that they give guests information about what they are eating I think I would really like to do menu cards, I think I just need better descriptions of some of the items I have picked. I was thinking about the buffet, but I am hoping we won't have enough people for it The options that Juan Carlos sent me for a buffet looked great though, I think you'd be fine with any of them. I am using outside make-up and hair (Styling Trio) because my MOH is allergic to the makeup the resort uses, and I wanted airbrush makeup which the resort doesn't do. I am also using an outside photographer, Dean Sanderson. I am considering using an outside videographer but I am not sure it is really in the budget...... I know we get an hour of videography from the resort which turns into a 30 minute film. It's not my first choice but it might be the best option right now.
  6. Are you ladies doing menu cards? I am trying to decide on that now while I am picking all our paper products to make sure they are cohesive. I love the idea of individual menu cards, but I guess they technically aren't necessary and might be difficult since some of the descriptions in the wedding book are pretty vague......Just wondered how you ladies decided to handle it?
  7. @@meganwitt - Your wedding was beautiful! It looks like you guys had so much fun! I am looking now at videographers, who did you / are you planning on using?
  8. I vote for dress #2, no belt. You look amazing in both but I think the second one is more the vibe you described.
  9. I couldn't wait so I just paid the money, it was worth every penny!!
  10. We have had a few people complain but most people are really excited. We know not everyone we want will be able to come but this was the best way for us to keep the guest list small and still be able to have a nice wedding and honeymoon. If we had our wedding at home we would be obligated to invite way too many people and then we wouldn't be able to have a honeymoon. Maybe I'm a bit selfish but I think this is the one event we are allowed to be.
  11. I'm doing an hour long welcome cocktail party the night before the wedding. I think that is just long enough for everyone to mingle and get the info they need they do whatever they like for dinner while the bridal party does a quick rehearsal. I also didn't want to pay the resort to pass out my OOT bags so I am giving those out at the cocktail party as well.
  12. I wish I had waited longer to ask anyone to be my wedding, I have a Maid of Honor and a Matron of Honor. I love them both but they each have asked me which one will be standing closest to me. So I keep putting them off since I don't want to decide! I also am including my daughter and my FI daughter, they are too old to be flower girls so they are bridesmaids and then I got excited at the beginning and asked two more friends to be bridesmaids. Now my FI is only having 3 guys and we decided on a smaller wedding than I originally thought. I want to drop the two friend bridesmaids but have no idea how to do it without hurting feelings and I have to find a way for everyone to stand so both honor attendants are equally close to me! I really wish I could just start over with the whole thing..
  13. Congratulations Vanessa and Ginger! Can't wait to see your pics and read your reviews!
  14. I asked Juan about the webcasting and they currently do not have that option but they "are working on it". I'm researching options but all seem really pricey. If you have an ipad or iphone and just have one person, facetime would be the best. I am wanting to have 10-20 people. It's looking like the best thing will be to have someone record it on my ipad and then upload it to utube or something similar. I was hoping they would be able to watch live, but that is where I run into trouble.
  15. Has anyone webcast your wedding? If you have, did you use a service or use your videographer do it? We would like to do a live webcast but the resort doesn't offer it yet
  16. I think these are questions we all have had along the planning way Try to take a deep breath and know you are in the right place. I have had a couple panic attacks already but the ladies here answered my questions and calmed me down. I have also found that the wedding coordinators are a lot better about communication then they used to be. Juan Carlos always answers me within a couple days and is really sweet. He is also great about offering suggestions for ways to get what I want for the least amount of money.
  17. I can't wait to hear how it all goes for you! I was thinking 2 hours is plenty. Also thanks for the chair info, $2is certainly better than another $10
  18. It was the first day I was feeling good after finishing chemo, my kids were staying with their dad so dressed myself up, put on some makeup and took myself to Starbucks for a cup of coffee. This giant (6'7'') gorgeous man walks right up to me and introduced himself with his fabulous Australian accent. I was hooked and we have been together ever since, getting married in April 2015
  19. @meganwitt- a TTD session is also known as a Rock the Frock session, you don't have to ruin your dress. If you do some fun shots around town, or in a cenote, the dress is usually just cleaner at the end. It's the paint, saltwater or beach shoots that can damage it. Anyway, just thought I should mention you dot have to rule it out because you want to wear your dress again.
  20. Did any of the previous brides use the photo booth? They seem so fun but I'm wondering what all they have and how it turned out? Also do I understand the chair up charge? If you upgrade the chairs you pay for them twice? Once for ceremony and once for reception ?
  21. @gannonham- so excited for you! You are in the home stretch now to answer your question, the reception is 3 hours but you can extend for $15 per person, per hour
