  1. Haha! I love orchids, I went to Trader Joe's this weekend to buy fresh flowers, I always like to have fresh flowers at home, they make me happy, that is the reason I feel like I will never go with silk flowers for my wedding, no matter how much cheaper they are, I fell they don't look pretty and the beauty of flowers relies on their freshness and scent. I got me some gerbera and lilies. They always have beautiful orchids, at a very cheap price, orchids that sell at some other place for $45, they have it for $17, but I didn't get any, them all were already all open and I like when they are not so they last longer. I also already have like 6 orchids at home, 2 of them are re-blooming, which I was never able to achieve before. After they finish blooming, keep them and don't transplant them, even if you see the roots coming out of the pot, orchids like tight containers, let me know if you need any help with after care. :-)
  2. I joined in March and just last week I had over 30 post, I was getting excited! this week doesn't seem to be working. I am up to 109... patiently waiting.
  3. Sehausle, I am with you, I keep looking at this picture and how I can really see the definition and happiness I see in the eyes of the groom (no make up) compared to all the black I see on the bride's eyes, I am sure she has beautiful eyes too, but TOO much eyeliner so is hard to tell. Is actually the one thing that you can see the most in the entire picture, it makes her eyes look so small!
  4. I would never leave my 3 months old at home to go to a wedding, let along a 6 weeks old. I understand that you have always been there for her and she not so much for you, so why ask her to be your bridesmaid to start with? I imagine a bridesmaid is someone you can rely on and that would be there for you through your entire wedding planning.
  5. I have so many people make the comment, I cant wait to your wedding, I just pretend I didn't listen, or just nervously laugh, I had my engagement party and invited everyone that was invited to my wedding, the party was about 100 people, I expect to have maybe 30 people come to my wedding, 40 if I am lucky.
  6. No one wants to reach 150 today? wow, slow Monday!
  7. Hi all, The more I read about RSVP's the more I get worried. I plan on making OOT bags and I promise, I will only make the number needed by the RSVP date, if anyone books after that, those will not have an OOT bag, that way they will remember next time to be prompt and responsible, and I will make sure when I distribute the bags in front of everyone to say that I only got enough for the people that RSVP'd by the due date since I didn't know if any other guest would be coming. I don't have any extra money laying around for rude's people extra bags. SMH
  8. Good morning, hope everyone had a fun weekend. Lets get to 150 this week!
  9. Yesterday I was looking at a check that my FH received, I remember the check coming in May, I also recall telling him, "deposit that check be ause you only have 90 days from the date of issued to cash" we are 4 days away from that dateline, I have put the check by our entrance console, where he also puts his keys" - the check have been in there for at least a month, I asked him yesterday if he wanted me to deposit the check, he said, "no, I will do it on my phone", that was yesterday morning and today the check is still not deposited. I am writing this here so we all understand why people wait lat minute or past the due date to RSVP, it is called procrastination, in my case, we are talking about money, not a fortune but still money and if people act like that when it comes to money, imagine a wedding that is not even theirs and which they would have to spend their money to go to.
  10. I m 45 post still to go... Hopefully I will get there by next weekend! I don't even know anymore why I want to ge full access, I have e everything I need already, is maybe just out of proudness. Lol
  11. Is a donkey loaded with tequila, here are some pictures, LOL, so much fun! http://gedachtenkrachten.com/mexico/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/tequiladonkey.jpeg http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/83341/lightbox/post/1841370/id/174073
  12. Yes, about adding some Mexican culture to the wedding, for that I also might have a mariachi for the cocktail hour, not sure though, people seem to think is a waste of money but I think it would be fun! I have also considered a tequila donkey for the reception.
  13. I would definitely not be chasing anyone either.
  14. Yes, is something that I would like to do, I am originally from the Dominican Republic and the wedding cord tradition come originally from Spain, we both (Mexico and DR) were colonized by Spain, so I think it would be a nice way to bring that part of me to the ceremony. I would probably use Swarosvki crystals though.
  15. Absolutely not crazy at all. We all want the best. I didn't noticed your wedding is "sometime in 2015" so you certainly have time to pick a date and resort
  16. OK. In my resort (MP) packages only include ceremony prices, you have to pay for every single thing during the reception, so for me choosing the complementary was a no-brainer. If I bring my chair sashes and table runners which would be no more than 10 per table, plus I add a center piece for lets say $100, this is $110 compared to the $300 my resort charges per table. For my ceremony I went with a catholic and pay the catholic priest fee $350 and I get my bouquet, groom's boutonniere, decoration for the chapel, etc. as part of the complementary package. I would also get some flowers for the church and use the horse carriage, and might or might not hire the solo harpist, all this would be no more than $1000, so that sure is best than the catholic package for $1675. If I add the priest fee 350 + $1000 for horse, harpist and decoration = 1350. I am saving $325 - If I have 5-6 tables at $300 each that is $1,800 based on 6 tables, compare to $660 if I do my own, My total savings so far are $1475.

  18. Icis, So how are you creating STD's without Resort and date?
  19. I am trying to get in contact with Gonzalo Nunez but every single website link I have tried doesn't work, can anyone guide me in the right direction?
  20. Oh, I have not even thought about this, I have a full year to go, I will have to subscribe and come back here later on. Is anyone here using Disco Mobil Cancun?
  21. I am aware that the access does not happen immediately. I have been debating if I should pay the $30 but just this week along I have about 60 new post, I joined a couple of months ago but have been slacking since I had so much time to go. Now I can't wait to get there
  22. Never thought of that either, why would they charge so much money for someone that is coming to just do your make up? They shouldn't charge a vendor fee for make up artist, does anyone here knows if moon palace charges for this?
