You too? I am really feeling behind, what about all the time that I thought I had to plan?

Now I am nervous and feeling behind, I haven't even decided in STD's (insert giggle and weird face here ), not that I would like to have any of those. HAHA. Now on a more serious note, can we find a new name for the Save The Date cards? Ok, back to the subject, I am August 22,2014 and I am not sure about what I want as STD or dress, flowers, colors etc. You are already sending them out? OMG. I am biting my nails. I attended a seminar for Palace Resort and they have other options besides of what they show in the websites, including Indian wedding decor. I am booking the reception place after we come back from our trip to PP this weekend, so exciting. In regards to food, I think I am going with a plated dinner and I am sure is going to be indoors, not beach reception for me.

Now I am a little clearer, WestJet, the airline, is also a TA and is holding rooms on their end so you can not put a hold on rooms on your end, meaning that WestJet is already holding a group rate for you. Am I clear now? I did not know WestJet was a travel agency too! I am using a TA, we are having a room block and I am getting all the resort benefits. So I think that by going with WestJet you are missing out. Now you mention, IF WESTJET has the 10 rooms available. What about if they don't? Do you have a contract with WJ already? I hope not! Why dont you request to talk to a TA through the info that Tammy provided in a previous post?

This is a little confusing and interesting. You need a room block if you have or don't have a package, matter of fact, every one does a package, either complimentary or paid, that is the way you can get the group benefits, you should investigate a little more since if there is not room block you have no guarantee that your guest will be able to get a room at the resort, it is a very small place.

OMG Theresad, I have the same idea, for the invites and STD. (STD doesn't sound too good, does it? LOL) can you tell me how much Fine Art is charging you, I also want a TTD in a Cenote. I think we are connected. If you don't want to post here, can you send me a private with details? Thanks

Hi Tataries, No more planning for me for the wedding for now, planning our engagement party right now. I will be going to Playacar on the 17th, I am also trying to do a site visit to Moon Palace, just to compare. Will post pictures when I come back. Or maybe from there, relaxing by the pool!

You should certainly be talking to her about that, there are many benefits including unlimited free events if you get 75 room nights booked, as you mention 10 rooms for 7 days each that is already 70 room nights, if you get 5 more which if I were you I will definitely book them, even if that means you paying for those extra 5 nights out of your pocket,.

Not true, maybe you miss understood? I have been talking to Playacar and they told me is up to me to use them or to use a TA. I have been talking to Elvia and Rocio. What I know is true, if you don't have a group block then, your guest can end up in other resorts if they are sold out and they will not be considered as part of your wedding. You will also not get any of the benefits, even if they are there for your wedding.

Your idea of a party sounds good, I thought about it but I just feel like for us, it will be another big expense, we are planning an engagement party right now, we talked about 3K, then the budget when up to 6K and at the end of the day, I know is going to end up at around 8K. I told FI that our engagement party is for people to get a feel of what it would be when in Mexico, get them all excited, and also, they can take it as our celebration if they cant make it to the wedding.

Congrast Theresad, I went on that forum and it is great. I am also working with Teresa but waiting on the visit to start working on the group block. I love DIY so I am thinking and thinking on ideas for my STD which I want to send out by mid, July. Haha Dwbride... I am actually going to the Pronovias fashion show here in NYC next week, I got an email/invite from The Knot, I have no idea what I want (dress) so it will be nice to get some cocktails and see some dresses. Until before being engaged I was sure of the type of dress I want, but now that I am engaged and we are planning a DW, I am lost! Right now I am keeping myself entertained planning the engagement party and with all the DIY. The other day I went to Trader's Joe, they have great affordable flowers so I want to see how long they would last and how long would take them to fully open, so my house looked like a flower shop, little flower arrangements all over. So much fun!

Hi all, I agree with most reasons for everyone: -We did not want to spend $40K in just one day (New York) -When FH and I were just dating I told him how much I would love a beach wedding and the answer was: NO, I want a traditional wedding! Things have changed a while after that; I was all resigned to the big traditional wedding but then shortly after the engagement he started asking about the cost and after all we have traveled he was the one that proposed the DW -We just bought a house, so it was either getting a personal loan to be able to afford a wedding or a DW. -We also love to travel and have been to Mexico (Rivera Maya) and just love it there. -I am originally from the D.R. and have tons of family in there so it seemed logical to do it there but no, we are going back to Mexico. We know that not everyone is going to be happy and not everyone is going to be able to make it but we are sure that whomever makes it is because we are really important to them.

Hi dwbride2014, isn't it exciting?? I got to a point where I feel I don't have much to do until my May trip for the site visit, I just want that to happen so I can keep going with the planing.

That is great. I sent the wedding date request form but havent heard from Elvia, I am sure is available though :-) I want August 22nd, 6pm. I will take lots of pictures when I am there and share with you (hopefully we will get to see a wedding while there)

I have not signed our contract but I am going to Playacar in May to check out the space before fully committing to a group contract. The wedding contract we will probably send this week. Let me know if there is anything, pictures, etc. that you would like while I am there :-) I am not as anxious to send the save the date since we are planning an engagement party in June where we will officially announce our date and location. Still we will send an official save the date shortly after the party, but I rather just see the resort and have everything worked out before taking that step. We are thinking August 22nd. Booked this far out? What, I already have a contact at the resort and working with Teresa from Vacations4less as a TA... I have been in contact with the resort but have not put the room block yet. I never thought a resort would be booked with so much time in advance. That is crazy, you are getting me nervous now
