It does take some time getting used to...and you have to get used to back tracking later on in the day...especially since they monitor your activity to start. It gets easier!

It took me a lot of time and stress! I sent out STD's about a year ago and told everyone to save the week of Nov 23 - 30. The TA had told me to wait for the travel bookings to open up (around April) before we could book anything. About January, I was getting anxious and had her start working on prices for me. Plus I had about 3 or 4 other TA's checking prices for me too. Unfortunately, there were no wedding times left at GBP that week so I started checking out other resorts or doing an offsite wedding. Bottom line, I like the resort and you can't beat their wedding prices so I changed my week to Dec 7 - 14. Then I couldn't get the time I wanted, but I wasn't changing it again. Getting the travel arrangements together took 3 - 4 weeks. I just hope the whole vacation and wedding comes together smoother! I'm really hoping that everything comes together soon!! I've already changed my date once, but have been told I am confirmed for December 07. The unsettling thing is that no one from the resort has contacted me, or asked me for a deposit for the Piscis private venue, even though my TA says it's booked for me. I've emailed the resort numerous times trying to confirm with them, but they seem unable to tell me. I don't know what's going on...but, I'm hoping it works itself out, because I am 4 weeks in just trying to confirm a date and a venue and travel arrangements for guest, and don't really have any solid confirmation of anything... :-S

Nice to know.. i kept checking the price drops but the rate we got was saving us 500+ a person. It didn't drop below our group rates.. and now it is showing sold out. I do have an amazing travel agent so I guess she got us the best deal posssible :-) SusanMike2013 - who is your travel agent? I'm getting a bit frustrated with my current travel agent and company that I am working with, and am starting to think that I should consider others. Would you mind PM'ing me the information?

Can I just ask you new brides how long it took you to book and confirm and sign contracts for everything? (like have your travel details and wedding date and venue from resort secured) So far, it's almost been a month for me, and even though I've been told dates, every time they've sent me an invoice or a contract, it has been wrong...so I really have confirmation of nothing. I am just wondering if this is the typical experience that most people are having? And maybe this is the average time it takes? I was really hoping to have everything done and signed and set in stone by now...but, the fact that it isn't is only causing me more stress.

I believe day passes are $75 dollars per person...

I'm so glad i found this thread!! Originally, I was thinking of ordering the tumblers from VistaPrint...but $50 would've cost me close to $300! Doing what you ladies are doing would cost me less than $100. And those labels off of Etsy are soooo much cuter! Thank you!

I currently haven't been offered any kind of deal at all...so, at least I can ask my TA if she can get me something comparable to yours, seeing as how you're flying with Air Canada as well. Fingers crossed that it can happen. I already feel a bit bad for making people travel to come to my wedding, so if I can make the cost burden less for them, I'm gonna try!!!

My TA just spoke with the wedding organizers there on Friday, March 15th. That day, they gave me a wedding date of December 05, 2013 @ 3 pm. But, I had to re-schedule it as I want to have the private reception venue and it was not available on the 5th. So...since I had to give up that date and time, perhaps you can get it now!!! Also...the WC told my TA that in order to have the private reception venue (which I have to pay for!), I MUST have a minimum of 45 guests. Have any of you past brides been told this? My TA also said that if I don't meet that minimum, they may move my venue. I think that's a bit over the top, especially if I am willing to pay for this. Any comments or advice??

There is another Grand Bahia Principe thread that is really active...and lots of people posting...both past brides...and future brides like yourself (and me). I was also unsure about what to think...it was one of the first suggestions that my travel agent gave me, but I didn't know if she was just trying to sell one of their more popular vendors, or if the suggestion was actually made based on my preferences. Check it out, it's called, "Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?" There are also reviews done of the resort and I've been reading through them here on this forum. After reading through these threads, I feel a lot better about the suggestion and have gotten many amazing ideas and great information from others!!!
