I KNOW 100% i am not using the resort photographer, i dont feel like i should get nothing in return if i am not using them!! Ugh, frustrating! Since we can't receive any credit for not using their photographer or videographer, we might request them for our hour long cocktail hour. Our own photo/video people will be with us during this time as we're off doing our own pictures. Either that, or maybe we could use them during a rehearsal. I don't want them getting in the way of the photographer and videographer that we're bringing down with us.

You can extend your reception. The cost is $15/person per hour. 2. I've heard of people in the past being able to swap or obtain credit for some services not required in the wedding package (i.e. obtaining a $150 credit for not using the resort photographer). I however have had absolutely ZERO luck with having this happen and I feel all I ever get back from Pilar is a flat out "NO" to any request I send. I'm quite frustrated by the lack of consistency in this and would love to hear from any other brides with recent weddings who have received credit of some kind.

She's been great to work with!

We're legally marrying before we leave Canada and since we're paying for a wedding commissioner in winnipeg, she offered to write us a script for the Mexico portion if we wanted. I thought this was a great idea (since she's basically doing this for free for us) but I'm unsure if the Mexico officiant will want to read someone else's work (or if their English is good enough to read something they haven't already memorized!) Also, did you girls find the officiant hard to understand at the Now Jade? I'm really not picky either way with which script is used, I'd just hate for her to do all this extra work if we're not going to use it. Also I'd hate to get excited about her script if it's not something that can be done down south! Any info would help!! Thanks We're doing a symbolic ceremony as well and we were also worried about the English of the minister. So we wrote our own ceremony and are going to be having one of my brothers "officiate" it for us.

When isela took me to castaways to show me the setup she said and thats your dancefloor which was the other section of castaways so i was happy with that. If im completely honest it was a very hot long day and by 9:45pm i was completely shattered and so was some of my guests, by the time the speeches were done and food was served it was almost time to wrap up anyway so for me personally im glad i didnt waste money on dj's, dancefloors (because the one in castaways was a big dance floor anyway) and all the other extras. We stuck with the divine package with a few tiny additions and it was great Xxxxx I'm really happy you liked Castaways. Originally it wasn't our first choice, but I think it should work out well. How did you find the temperature in the room in the evening?

I have a question - what are you doing (or what did you do) about sleeping arrangements with your fiance the night before the wedding? I want to keep it traditional and sleep apart and not see each other until I walk down the aisle, but the hotel cannot offer us separate rooms the night before. So one of us would have to go sleep somewhere else. My fiance doesn't think this is a big deal (to sleep together and see each other) but I kind of do. But at the same time I feel bad asking my fiance to sleep elsewhere as we both want to be comfortable and get a good nights sleep. Thoughts/suggestions/comments? Thanks ladies! Jackie Do you have any girlfriends or bridesmaids you could have share a room with you the night before? Maybe they traveled there alone, or they have a room with two beds and your groom is friends with their husband/partner? Your groom could swap rooms and stay in their room instead?
  9. Have any of you done a signature drink? We need to hand in our wedding planning form ASAP, and this is one blank we haven't filled in. I'd love some suggestions if you had a great drink for yours!
  10. I did it! I ran the New York City Marathon (26.2 miles or 42.2kms) on Sunday! I finished in 4:22 hrs. My legs are KILLING me now, but each day since the race has been getting a bit better. I ate like a pig on Monday after the race, and now need to get my diet back on track, now that I'm not training for the marathon any more! My legs need a rest this week, but I think next week we're going to dive back in to Insanity - and we'll be four weeks out from our departure to Mexico!

You look amazing and your dress fits fabulously!!
  14. Arrrg, it's so much cheaper to ship stuff to the USA than Canada. I just shipped my poor brother in California 24 pairs of maracas to bring down in his suitcase. I then followed that up with an "if you have room in your suitcase for a giant donkey piñata, can you please let me know"?! Poor guy! For those of you who live in the USA and can buy your own cheap stuff, count your blessings!!
  15. We're really liking the Insanity DVD's, I'm very curious about these T25's! I actually really enjoy Sean T, he motivates me. After the NYC marathon (next weekend!) we only have just over a month until we leave. I figure I'll give my poor body a week to recover from the marathon and then we might hit the Insanity DVD's hard for the few weeks we have left until we leave. Maybe post wedding we'll try the T25's. So in terms of the gel bust cup saga, I went to a bridal store this afternoon and bought a pair of foam push-up cups. I'll figure out something to do with the gel ones (knee or elbow pads? sponge painting?) The great news is that when I brought my dress in for alterations it totally fit. As long as I don't gain a ton in the next 46 days I'll be golden! The seamstress even said if I lose a bit, that's okay too! Thank god for corset backs!

  17. Today marks 48 days until our departure to Now Jade!! I bought two chocolate advent calendars and today we opened the first door! I was only going to buy one calendar and start counting down 24 days in advance, but when I was in the store I decided I was too excited and switched it to a 48 day countdown! Yeeeehaw!!!
  18. Well, I'll keep you all posted with the gel bust cup question if I learn anything further. We're flying to NYC next week so maybe I will ask security at the airport. But I might just try to find some foam ones so I don't have to worry at all. Today marks 48 days until our departure to Mexico!! I beat my goal. I had to take some time off from working out/running because my body was definitely mad at me for putting it through 13.1 miles of practically ALL HILLS. (Baltimore is one of the hilliest half marathons/marathons if anyone is wondering about doing it..) I planned on starting T25 this week, but I got in a little over my head with my halloween costume, and I've had to dedicate all of my extra time to sewing on lots of singular ivy leaves, haha. So hopefully I will start Saturday morning! Keep up the good work ladies! Congratulations!!!! A half marathon is a tremendous accomplishment, especially on a super hilly course! I hope your body is recovering from the beating you gave it! We fly to NYC next week for the marathon too! I feel exhausted right now, but I'm sure my energy levels will pick up before the race. I think the Insanity DVDs have been helping me a ton with my core strength and cadence. Can't wait for the race!

  21. So I went out and purchased some cups to have sewn in to my dress and just realized I probably can't use them because they're the gel push up kind, and we were planning on carrying my dress on (i.e. no gel rules for carry on baggage unless a certain sized marked container). Do you think that counts for something like bra cups?! I feel like I need to go find a pair of foam ones now just in case I have them sewn in and we get to the airport and have to rip them out. What a waste of $20, they can't be returned. Hmmmf.

Christina - Have you checked with your airline?

I think they made a mistake - it might be Now Sapphire instead. I'll let you know if I do hear back though!
