  1. Another thing to consider with the eye lash extensions (and what most people like about them) is that you have a more finished look for all your wedding events without having to worry about your mascara running (rehearsal, photos by the pool, etc.). One less thing to worry about. When I did them, it was prior to a vacation. I loved that with a tan and the extensions, I didn't really need make up. You are not supposed to get them wet though (like submerged), so that is something to consider also. Hope that helps
  2. We opted for the white fabric covered arch, decorated with flowers that match my bouquet. I purchased some glass globes for the reception that hang from the trees with a tea light candle inside. I am going to use a few of those on the arch sans candle.
  3. Not sure if any of you are still looking for the style of the first dress posted but I believe it is a Maggie Sottero. The style is Billie
  4. Yes!!! One of my fiances friends RSVP'ed that she was attending and we were frankly surprised because she lives in another state and we really don't see her much anymore. She put a deposit down and then when the final payment deadline came around she never reached out to the travel agent. I sent her a simple email asking if she was still planning on attending or if she had changed her mind (stating that I understand that things can come up and to make sure to get her deposit back if she could not attend) and she called me in hysterics stating that she has 5 wedding invitations on her fridge right now and she can't do it all. She was asked to be a bridesmaid in 3 of them and that was more important. I couldn't help but giggle after I hung up the phone. Please, do tell the bride to be about how YOUR stressed out lol
  5. Exactly!! I found it so uplifting to free myself of it to be honest. I am not one for tit for tat but I busted butt for her wedding. Her MOH was a monumental let down so as her friend I basically scrambled to arrange her bachelorette and wedding shower with another bridesmaid otherwise SHE WOULD NOT HAVE HAD ANY OF IT. I did not expect the same from her because she is a very selfish person but I did expect her to be honest and straightforward. I have so much more respect for those who are honest and come out and say they cant attend because of fiances, children, work, etc. She thought it was the most AMAZING idea until it became time for it to be reality. Hey...her loss! More tequila for the rest of us.
  6. I found that the eye lash extensions did do a number on my real lashes. I also thought that my first set was probably the best as far as results. I won't get the extensions for my wedding because of the damage. I am either going to use a set of mink lashes or individual lashes for the big day. They make really natural looking sets that my brides love! Avoiding the mascara route because of crying (I'm a baby, so I am sure there will be TEARS) lol
  7. I agree with everything that has been said above and I think it really depends on what you would like to happen to the friendship post wedding. Do you plan on eventually rekindling this friendship or would you be 100% okay with severing ties? I was in the same situation. She was actually asked to be a bridesmaid and had initially said yes, but then no with a million excuses that were aimed at making me feel guilty about having a DW. Our friendship had been pretty rocky for years but I looked at the whole thing as my last attempt. In the end, I did not send her an invitation. I just refuse to focus any of my energy on negativity during this process. I do have other friends who I knew would not be able to attend, but I sent the invitation regardless.
  8. I agree! While having everyone important to you help you pick the dress, it can be super stressful to consider all their opinions. It was the first time I had ever tried on wedding dresses and just the excitement of that alone made it hard for me to concentrate. I only brought my sister. I ended up bringing my mom, MIL, and SIL a few weeks later to help me pick out a veil. They still got to see it before everyone else so they felt special but I didn't feel overwhelmed when I was choosing. I hope you have/had a great experience!
  9. I have had a few people ask me... I told them to come in whatever they would like as long as it isn't a bathing suit and cover up. I am not overly concerned. My family and friends all have their own personalities but know what to wear to what occasions. Some have even sent me a photo of things they have picked out. They are just as excited as I am and want to look their best so I am happy with whatever that may be.
  10. I used an Etsy seller! She was excellent! She allowed me to fully customize the invitation to exactly what I wanted. She sent me an online proof, as well as one in the mail. She offered all the extras including guest addressing and calligraphy! It was an amazing experience. I highly recommend.
  11. I like the second, the one raffa tie. I had a single raffa tie on our invitations. I went back and forth with it also lol. I wasn't sure if I wanted to include the additional mailings behind the invitation, tucked in the raffa. I ended up leaving them loose so when they were opened, it would be near impossible to miss the additional items! Good luck!
  12. We are hosting a little get together at my home before the big day and we will hand out the wedding party gifts, pre-travel info, luggage tags, and a few other essentials!
  13. I am giving them their gifts a few days before the wedding. We are having a small get together at my house to review some final details etc. so I thought it would be a great time to give them out and also make them responsible for traveling with the items. I have so much to bring! Also, as mentioned above, we didn't want to hand them out at the Welcome Party and single out people. So...that's the plan!
  14. We are paying for our wedding. I really wouldn't want it any other way. I have planned my dream wedding with every detail being exactly as I want. I know I would never be able to do that if someone else were footing the bill. I would not feel comfortable adding some of the extras that I have added if I knew it would effect someone else's wallet. We both work very hard and being together for 7 years now, have had plenty of time to budget. We do own a home and I still have student loans, so it can be difficult at times but for me (and this is just my personal opinion) it means more that we have saved and done this on our own. I know we will receive some monetary gifts from our parents at the wedding but to me, it is more important that they have made the effort to attend our DW and have always supported us throughout our relationship.
  15. I certainly agree, from an industry point of view, that the keratin complex is the way to go for any type of straightening treatment before the big day. In regards to hair extensions, I agree that clip ins are the best way to go. I find that any of the above mentioned (glue, tape, sew) can damage your hair while the clip ins are versatile, especially if your looking for a certain look for the big day but dont necessarily want a permanent look. Sally's are okay but I do find the quality lacking and the look is not as organic as the better brands. My personal favorite are bellami extensions. http://www.bellamihair.com/ I have worked with a few different types and I am always pleased with the results. They are a bit pricier but hold up to heat and look SO GOOD! I have purchased a set myself... I will try and attach a photo
  16. From my experience with my clients and applying to myself, the airbrush is usually worth it for a special event such as a wedding, especially considering the heat and humidity. I especially like it because you don't have to worry about rub off during dances/hugs/etc. If you aren't oily/sweaty, you certainly could skip the airbrush but I would definitely recommend a setting spray, a good primer, some blotting sheets, and some setting powder to reapply during the day. A good foundation applied with a flat top kabuki gives a similar look to the airbrushing, just forfeits the longevity factor. Hope that helps...either way, I am sure you'll look beautiful
  17. No problem! Glad I could help. The site allows you to create a showroom also which I found super helpful. I chose my top favorites and the girls chose from there. I had ordered from the site for my SIL's wedding and had really good results. They offer their opinion before they put the order through in regards to sizing etc. Highly recommend.
