  4. Lovely thread! I also like dress #1 and 2 but it certainly is a choice you have to be comfortable with. As far as being unsure, I emphatically say YES IT IS NORMAL. It's a big decision so it is very normal to be hesitant to make a final decision. There are so many options out there too so I feel like if you keep looking you will always find something else that you like or could like. I think you have tried a good variety of styles of dresses so if you are leaning towards one dress, it's probably right! Good luck and can't wait to read more xo
  5. The wipes, sanitizer, and pepto came from amazon.com. The spf was from target and I got it during a sale they were having so the SPF and first aid kit were 99 cents each.
  6. Thanks love! I hope so. I think I am over thinking it because anyone that I have asked who hasn't planned a DW doesn't even know what an OOT bag is. They are from weddingchicks.com
  7. Thanks! FI drove me nuts with the hangover cure! It had to be that brand lol He swears by it, I guess.
  8. For the most part, yes! Of course, I still have small to do's but thankfully all the big things are taken care of. No issues other than the dress and getting everything organized really. I am not sure if you said you have Ana for your WC but she really is amazing. I don't know where I would be without her. She is so patient with all of my questions!
  9. Getting all my items together for my OOT bags and looking for some input. I have the bags themselves in hand and have purchased almost all of the items I plan on using. I will attach some photos of what I have so far. Here is what I have: -personalized bag (1 per room) -wrist coils with badge protectors (will print cards to go in each with cute saying etc.) (1 per person) -first aid kit (1 per room) -shout wipes (2 packages per room, with extra I will keep if anyone needs more) -hand sanitizer (1 per room) (bridesmaids will get scented bath & body versions with case to attach to their travel bags pre flight) -SPF (1 per room, because no one ever brings enough lol) -aloe vera gel (1 per room) -Blowfish hangover cure (The only item FI was excited about, haha) -Pepto tablets (got a great deal on these, so each room can get multiples) -Skin So Soft bug wipes (each packet includes 2 wipes, so 1 per room with extras if needed) Not shown: Advil (need to purchase) Welcome letter Itinerary Map of resort Any advice? Is there anything I am forgetting that you ladies recommend? I spent more than I wanted to on the bags themselves, but I couldn't help it! I love them. I still have to figure out how I want to package the items also. Thanks ladies xo
  10. glad you are back! Good luck with the invitations...time flies. I can't believe how quickly all of our weddings are approaching!
  11. Just my personal opinion, I would do the passport for the invitation. You will want to include more information in the invitation most likely so the passport set up is awesome for including a lot of details. I kept the STDs pretty simple. It was just a postcard with a picture of the destination, the date, a bit of resort info, and our wedding website. Those went out a year before our DW. I was super intent on giving people lots of time to plan & save so that may be excessive for some. The invites were sent out in October for my March wedding. It all worked out pretty well because most of my guests had already confirmed that they were attending by October but it gave some a reminder to deposit/reserve and final payment was due at the end of the year so it was pretty good timing. I'll attach our save the date... it was a BIG hit with guests. They honestly liked them more then I had expected.
  12. hmmm interesting! Well we weren't planning on having the parents give speeches unless they really wanted to and we had been told that generally, you have to have them do the whole speech thing if they are helping with the wedding financially, which they aren't but interesting that you did have yours. Not sure if it would be too long and drawn out with the moh speech, best man speech, his parents, and then both of mine. Something to think about for sure.
  13. Agreed! Someone offered to purchase a set for us as if we NEEDED them. I don't really see the need but I guess it is a nice keepsake if you plan on displaying it or something.
  14. Hello ladies! I am having a hard time making a decision ( a small one, but a decision no less) and I know I can always count on you all to be my voice of reason. I had not really thought about introductions at the reception until my WC emailed me requesting the order. I quickly got caught up in song choices and thinking about the order that I wanted my bridal party introduced that I really didn't think about one small problem....my parents. I'll explain... I had planned to have my bridesmaids come out as a group, then the groomsmen, then the maid of honor, and then the best man. I figured the grouping of the bridesmaids and groomsmen would be fun (we got the girls fun sunglasses and the guys mexican wrestling masks) and prevent the long, drawn out introduction by name. It was then that FI said, "Uh...what about our parents?". UGHHHH. His parents are married and can certainly be announced together. My parents on the other hand have been divorced for about 20 years and STILL can barely stand the sight of each other. I realize that they will be in close proximity for the majority of the day, but announcing the two of them...JUST THEM...seems horribly awkward for them and anyone who knows how much they hate each other. This would be the easiest choice however. My sister and MOH suggested that she escort my dad and one of the groomsmen escort my mom. This could work but would throw off the group idea. I realize I am probably making this into a bigger deal than necessary, but I also realize that many of you probably have divorced parents as well. How are you handling this?
  15. Also using the resort provided. Not something important to me I guess. Any of you ladies bringing champagne flutes...the customized doodads?
  16. I know!! I so want to but every time I sit down to start I get an email from the WC, the phone rings, the dog runs out the door...lol I want to try. I also read all the planning threads! I love them.
  17. Awesome review Kim! I am so happy to hear that everything worked out for you...what a beautiful bride you made!! You are so on top of your game! I have yet to make a planning thread, even though I keep meaning to. lol
  18. Congrats Kim! Everything looked perfect. So happy for you and can't wait to hear all about it xox
  19. I guess I did luck out in this area... I purchased my dress during a promotion for free alterations. Anything that is required to get the dress to fit me correctly (hem, bustline, etc.) is included and I have not had to pay. The bustle is considered optional so I did pay for that. I believe it was $125 for that because of style of the bottom of my dress and I was very particular about how I wanted it bustled I guess lol (the seamstress told me no bride has ever cared about the bustle as much as I do, which I find hard to believe)
  20. The shop that created them for me also offered to print them. I love how they came out!! They look a lot more like calligraphy than a printed envelope.
  21. "like" for the awesome stylists! Sorry to hear about your dad! I hope he is on the mend and can enjoy tomorrow fully! Sooooo excited for you. I can't believe it's tomorrow!!!!!
  22. It is sooo confusing!!! I consider myself a fairly intelligent person and I keep finding myself going...wait...what?!!! lol but yes if you wanted the exact same sun position, effect, temperature...you would want to move it forward one hour. Sorry if I confused everyone about the March thing. I only meant that for me on the east coast, after March 8th it will go back to a one hour difference because we will move our clocks forward an hour. February 1st Quintana Roo will set their clocks to my time and never observe Daylight Savings so for about a month, that area of Mexico and Eastern Standard time will be the same. Then after March 8th Eastern time will be one hour later, so it will go back to what I am used to and it won't effect my flight times, just the ceremony temperature and sunlight.
