@@Lia33 the BM might as he is part of that group of friends as well and has been told about it. The MOH(my sister) probably would not as she doesn't know them well and will be having a baby in a few weeks. Vegas isn't really her scene anyway... I think I might tell her that I would like a pampering day with the girls and maybe a nice dinner and see if I can follow through with the coco bongos plan or something called a cuncrawl.

Thanks for the feedback! It actually isn't any more $$ to have two options so I figured why not give our guests the choice. Was definitely surprised that it was an "extra" LOL. @@NJBride2014 our food is very similar! :Dcute menus! I cant wait to hear all about your big day!
-
@@NJBride2014 those are actually the same exact choices we are leaning towards...rib eye and salmon. Our thought process has been the same... food is everywhere at the resort so they certainly can eat something else but I have heard good reviews of the wedding meals. I am having them chose their meals through the RSVP process so no surprises. Hopefully that will aid in everything running smoothly. The WC has been really firm about making sure I have a method to differentiate the guests so the servers will know who wants what entrée without having to ask them so I will have to come up with some sort of system or decoration on the seating card to let the servers know. Did you have to do this?

Anyone Else Overwhelmed With Cost?
MrsCtoB replied to kcole123's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
@@Lia33 I think that's super generous of you and certainly enough. I get what you mean though... I keep finding them other things that I want to get them. Its such an honor that they are flying for our wedding, I want to make sure they know how truly appreciative we are but cant go crazy with it. I think earrings would be good, especially if there are certain ones that you find that you like. -
I would say send out the save the dates first. Do your save the dates include your wedding website (if you have one)? In most cases that would be enough to get everyone on the ball to begin depositing as you can update the website with all the info they need and spread the word about deposit deadline. Then maybe send invites out later ?

Hi all! Just looking for a quick consensus...Are you giving your guests a meal option? If so, are you offering a beef and fish or beef and chicken? Plan on having a vegetarian option but looking for some opinions on the rest. Thanks!

Help!
MrsCtoB replied to MacyLyn's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I asked this very question myself and was told by my WC that no, there would be no charge incurred. It might vary by resort though. Did you ask your WC directly? -
What Flavor Is Your Cake?
MrsCtoB replied to nadiakat17's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
the resorts tres leches is to die for so one layer of that for sure and debating adding another flavor to give our guests choices...YUM! -
nice timeline... definitely need to give mine more thought. I have it printed out but started to work on it and got frustrated! I don't want a garter/bouquet toss. Not many singles so I would throwing a bouquet to maybe one person? lol Guess that leaves more time for dancing!

Wedding Dress Garment Bag
MrsCtoB replied to hyoungquist's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
@@NJBride2014 that bag is awesome! contemplating getting one...are you planning on carrying it on and stowing in overhead? -
@@Lia33 I think he doesn't really know what he wants either! I know he would love Vegas but feels the way I do. His best man has made some pretty awesome suggestions but I don't think he really knows what to want/expect. Its weird... have both been MOH and Best Man numerous times so its weird for us to be on the opposite end. One of his groomsmen and best friends told us he may be planning to "elope" to Vegas in January and would want us to come as witnesses if we would be interested. I think deep down we are both hoping that will happen and we can use the trip as one big party! Just takes away the planning from my MOH and his BM which will hopefully not result in any hurt feelings.

Show us your wedding dress!

Anyone Else Overwhelmed With Cost?
MrsCtoB replied to kcole123's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I agree @@TinkerSofi and my FI always gets a kick out of it...he says I should tattoo the phrase "Do you know how much this would cost here?" to my forehead because its usually what I say when I get a bit overwhelmed. I have a HUGE family and the fact that our wedding total is currently at 32 not 320 is very comforting -
Anyone Else Overwhelmed With Cost?
MrsCtoB replied to kcole123's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Yes certainly overwhelmed and always trying to weigh what is most important to us. I think we have been pretty realistic with budget etc but certain things have taken me by surprise. Agree with the personalization advice! So true. -
Yes he is usually pretty on point when he points things out dam it! lol I may take a general consensus about the Thursday night. The way I see it, they will have all of Friday day to relax/sleep/beach/pool etc. as the rehearsal isn't until the evening anyway. OR we could just do it after as you mentioned but he feels like I will be "jipped" if I don't have a bachelorette event before the wedding. I think I would be okay with it. Guess I need to think about it a bit more.

Welcome Dinner/post Wedding Brunch
MrsCtoB replied to nadiakat17's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I plan on having a welcome cocktail party the night the guests arrive. Contemplated having a dinner but I know that depending on the time of their flight they may be exhausted so I didn't want to put much requirements for the first night. Just a quick drink and meeting so everyone can see each other. Other than the ceremony and reception, I don't think we will have many other events. Decided on no post wedding breakfast so everyone can rest and recover. May plan an excursion/night out/bachelorette/party night but only those who wants to attend will of course. -
Always wanted a Vegas bachelorette and have planned a few but once we decided on a DW, I don't feel right letting that be known. My MOH (sister) wants to plan it and keeps asking me what I have in mind but I haven't given her a straight answer. My next thought was having it in Mexico (CoCo Bongos ) but FI and I talked a little about it and I think he is concerned with going before the ceremony and worrying about everyone's safety and behaving etc and timing. We arrive on Wednesday but our guests arrive on Thursday. Friday is rehearsal and Saturday is wedding. I suggested Thursday night but he worries our guests may be too tired from traveling. *sigh*
-
We decided on adults only because it was the resort where he proposed and we have visited a few times and felt confident in the quality that we would be offering our guests. I did think we might lose interest from some of our family/friends with children but they have ALL actually thanked us and cant wait for a kids free getaway. Depends on your guests I would think.

Legal marriage at home before DW Advice?
MrsCtoB replied to maridr2012's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
If a "real" wedding is when a judge declares you married, then your really not "married" if you follow the legal processes at your DW. It doesn't become legal until (if) those documents are translated here and deemed creditable and legal. So it comes down to being legally married before or after... you really aren't married for "real" at your DW either way. Everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinions and should 100% follow their personal wishes for their weddings however those are truly the options. BEFORE or AFTER, if you want to be literal. -

Tanlines.. Anyone else concerned with this?
MrsCtoB replied to prairiegirl's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
purchased suit tops with thinner straps if any so hopefully that will help and I will remember to tuck them in when laying down hopefully. Not really sure how much time I will have to soak up the sun before the ceremony anyway with the welcome events, rehearsal, etc. Not worried about AHR since its about a month after we come back.
