Yay! CONGRATS KDoyle!!!
-
Hey Danielle03:) Yes, I'm super excited! I have decided to do the 3 hour pkg for $1400, plus add an extra hour for $250 (so 4 hours total). With the $350 vendor fee discount, it ends up being only $1300...not bad! And Brian said he is able to break up the 4 hours so I can have the ceremony, and reception covered as well:) For my videography...I've decided to have a friend or family member record the footage for free (why spend more?). If you go to Brian's FB page, he just posted some really beautiful pics of some RIU Ochie pics he recently did...I really love the ones of Cortney and Wayne! Yassy.

Booking with Brian Nejedly tomorrow...one more thing checked off of my "to do" list!!! ~yay!~ ...6 more months for me!... Starting to hit the gym more regularly so I'll be able to fit into my wedding dress;)

Hey AshleyD, Thanks SO much for the info, I do appreciate it~! Yassy
-
Hey AshleyD, Can you confirm what doc's were required? I have already gotten our Long Form Birth Certificates and made sure our Passports are up to date. And how much did it cost you to get your photocopies notarized by a lawyer? Thanks:) Yassy.
-
Hey Allirose...$350!? Really!? I'm pretty sure he quoted me a lot more than that:( I'll have to double check his email again to make sure I'm getting a fair price...but thanks for the info:) Yassy

Hey Danielle03, I had my photographer friend look at the pricing and photos done by Brian Nejedly and she thinks for the quality/time he offers, the pricing is pretty good! So I'm seriously thinking of going with him...I just wanted to thank you for the recommendation as that is how I found out about him to begin with:) I would have had my photography friend do the photos, but unfortunately, she is one of my bridesmaids..lol. Just curious...who did you end up going with for your photography? (if you don't mind saying) Yassy.

Hey AshleyD, Like Danielle03, I also opted for the "free wedding" pkg and decided to do the Semi-Private dinner @ 10.50pp and have booked the Disco for $650 (for 2 hours) based on a maximum of 50 people, as it also includes the dj and an open bar with a bartender. Prior to making my decision, I actually took the liberty to price out all of the possible options to see what was most suitable and cost efficient for me...I'm providing my personal breakdown for anyone who is interested: Dinner & Reception Options: Based on 50 people **Free Ceremony on the Beach $500 (includes MOC + Marriage Certificate)** Option #1: Semi-Private Dinner $10.50pp No Reception Option #2: Semi-Private Dinner $10.50pp ($525.00) Private Reception (beach/poolside) $15.00pp ($750.00) Extras: $600 Set up fee, $200/hour to rent the Soundsystem (Speakers,Mic, Ipod Docking Station, CD Player) Option #3: 6:30pm – 10:30pm Private Dinner & Reception (Beach/Poolside) $67.00pp - Extras: $200/hour to rent Soundsystem (Speakers,Mic, Ipod Docking Station, CD Player) – OR - $300/hour for a DJ, $600 set up fee. Option #4: 6:30pm – 10:30pm Private dinner & Reception @ the Plantation Restaurant $1000.00 (for 4 hours) and $10.50pp ($525.00) Extras: $200/hour to rent Soundsystem (Speakers,Mic, Ipod Docking Station, CD Player) – OR - $300/hour for a DJ, $10pp for open bar with bar tender. **NO SET UP FEE CHARGED** Option #5: 6:30pm – 8:30pm Semi-Private Dinner $10.50pp ($525.00) 8:30pm – 10:30pm – Private Rental of the Disco (includes open bar + bar tender + DJ) for up to 50 people $650.00 Yassy.

Hey Jessica, Do you have any family members attending that happen to be bilingual? Perhaps you can arrange to have them translate the ceremony as it's being done? That is the only cost efficient option I can think of... Yassy

Hey Danielle, I was just thinking...I received an email back from Jan's Flowers with their pricing list and I notice they offer the decorated 4-poster Chuppahs and Arches that they can set up directly on the beach...there is an extra cost for them ($180 and up), but this could be another option for you to still have your wedding on the beach for the date/time that you want if you are unable to get the beach gazebo. I would think that the resort would still set up the chairs for you for free, and hopefully they have more than one person for the Officiant. I'm seriously thinking of forfeiting the beach gazebo myself and going with an Arch as the pictures look so beautiful! Anyway...just a thought;) Yassy

Hi Jessica, Here is the email I received back from one of Keisha's reps: "Photography coverage includes bride/groom getting dressed, ceremony & photo-session. 2 Cd's with over 400 Hi-Res images 2)Two Photographers Wedding Gallery upload (optional) DHL-delivery,two weeks after event with tracking number No time charges !! Venders fee we pay !! - $440 USD $1,650.00 USD Videography Services Cinematography coverage 2 professionally edited DVD Videos $650 USD Reception dinner (1st 2 hours includes cutting the cake, decor detailing, first dance, guest tables etc.) $300 USD 10% deposit retain your date. Marcia can customize a package for you." I did ask for further clarification on the above as far as timelines and if they provide actual prints or just the cds, and am still awaiting a reply...but it seems like the above is customizeable depending on your needs. It's been 4 days, so hopefully the delay is due to the long weekend;) Yassy.

Oh Man!!! I'm so sorry to hear that this is happening to you....what a nightmare! At this point, perhaps an email to the Corporate Office is in order...I'm sure they will do something to accommodate you if you tell them you have all the email confirmations from Fernanda. I really hope it all works out for you!!! Yassy.
-
Thanks for the info Kerri and Danielle, very much appreciated:) I sent an email to the address indicated on Marcia's website [email protected] and am just waiting to hear back from her... Yassy.
-
Hey Danielle and Kerry, Just out of curiosity, with the vendor fee + the cost of the pkgs for Marcia and Brian (Photographers), does it end up being less expensive than going through the Photographers associated with the resort? Or are you paying for the photographers to stay overnight to offset the cost of the vendor fee? Thanks Ladies;) Yassy

Looks like we will just miss eachother!!! I'm arriving on the 14th and leaving on the 21st! I'm just praying for good weather!!!
-
Hey Kerry, No worries! Life happens! lol Wow, you wedding is just around the corner!!! How exciting! I'm sure everything will go wonderfully! Please do share all of the details once you have returned as I'm sure many of us would love to hear all about it:) Yassy

Hey Guys...I'm only now noticing that there are some nice wedding pics posted in the right hand column of this forum under "Recent Images In This Thread" which really give a great idea of what we can expect for our wedding ceremony and reception at the RIU!!! I thought I'd mention this just in case you guys hadn't noticed it either. It actually shows pics of the beach and garden gazebo, the free bridal bouquet, the dinner/reception areas, etc. I found it very helpful;) Yassy.
-
Hey Newrorbridetobe, Congrats! I am also getting married at the RIU Ocho Rios in November...what is your wedding date? Mine is the 18th:) Yassy.
-
Geez! That is SO frustrating!!! If Keisha replies with the same thing, then I'll have no choice but to do the Tuesday (if it's even still avail) which sucks as I think someone had mentioned in a prev post I saw that the disco is closed on Tues...
-
Hey KDoyle:) A piece of your message is making me really nervous!!! You mentioned this rule: "Couples must respect the arrival date, they have to arrive at least 2 full business days before the wedding (not counting Sundays and the Arrival day)" So I am having my wedding on Monday, Nov 18th/2013 and I've already booked my flight/hotel and plan to arrive on Thurs, Nov 14th...do you have any idea if the Thurs and Fri will count as the 2 full business days? Or should I have booked to arrive for the wed? I've also emailed Keisha, so I'm really hoping it will be considered 2 days....YIKES!!! Yassy.
-
NP at all Joanne! I hope it works out in your favour;) Yassy
-
Hi KDoyle~Are you able to clarify for me if the price points you mentioned to rent the disco with bar/bar tender/dj are for the full 2 hours? Or are those prices per hour? Thanks so much for all the great details you've been providing!! Yassy.
-
Just curious...I have a few friends who are DJ's and they do have their dj equipment (serato)...do you have any idea if the dj equipment can be directly hooked up to the sound system? Then I won't need to pay for a DJ and can just use my friends!!! (Anything to save money!!! lol) Also, how was the sound quality when you used your ipod/cd's with their sound system? Was it loud enough? Yassy.
