  1. Wow, 30 people booked already, that's awesome!! When did you send out your invites? Did you give people a RSVP deadline? We just sent our STDs out last week, and our website with booking information just got launched today. I ended up booking an outside photographer (Sascha Gluck) for our wedding day, and i'm planning to use the package photographer for our rehearsal dinner. I guess the thing i'm hung up on right now is flowers. I'm planning to use the included bridal bouquet and centerpiece as arrangements on the pergola, and I plan on getting bouquets for myself and my BMs on etsy. But my-oh-my the price on the resort centerpieces are outrageous!! I emailed an outside florist today to hopefully get some quotes. I've read through here that you don't have to pay a vendor fee if someone meets them outside the resort to pick them up (that's what the GMs are for ) I tried to pull a few DIY arrangements together, but the though of lugging that stuff down with me is daunting. Here's the link for the one's that I put together the other day, they didn't really get any comments so i'm guessing they're a "no-go" lol. What are your plans for flowers, and what's your color scheme? http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/85774/beachy-rustic-centerpiece#post_1890665
  2. Congratulations, soooo exciting!!!! Looks amazing on you (as if you didn't know that already ;-))! I love how flowy the bottom is
  3. The chairs are $7 each plus tax, like others have said, the large flower arrangement at the start of the aisle are around $350 each. I'm getting the divine package as well and plan on using the included bridal bouquet and table arrangement as my two flower arrangements on the pergola (i'm bringing a faux bouquet from home). The white fabric is included. Just to keep in mind: I contacted an outside florist (maya floral) today to hopefully get some flower quotes (centerpieces and aisle markers). From what i've read in reviews, they're very good at crafting something for you that's within your budget. If you have someone meet the florist outside of the resort, you don't have to pay a vendor fee. I'll let you know
  4. You're so lucky!! I have never seen these in person, do you or your friend have any pictures??
  5. Oh wow, thats so cheap!! Does the place have any before and after pics for you to look at?!
  6. I love this soooooooo much!!!!! Are you bringing down all of the supplies with you, or having it shipped there?
  7. Hey guys, so I'm in love with so many things related to rustic weddings ( a la Pinterest!). And I'm determined to tie in some rustic theme elements into my destination wedding in the Mayan Riviera. So, on my day off today, I decided to head to A.C. Moore to get some fun stuff to play with and see what I can come up with. I was planning to hopefully have my centerpieces be a DIY project since the resort charges >$200 per table for flowers. So with a few mason jars, some burlap and lace, and some real touch flowers, I came up with this. With some coupons, it will end up coming out to around $6-7 per table. I plan to probably do some votive candles and shells around it too..Let me know what you think, especially if its too cheesy or ghetto looking. Thanks!!
  8. Woooohoooo, the NJ is going to be full of brides that weekend!!! We are doing a 4pm ceremony @ the pergola, cocktail 5-6 at the mix bar, and then reception 6-10 at either the bamboo room or castaways....This may all change depending on how many guests end up booking (we invited 136!)....thinking of just going to the disco afterward. How about you?
  9. Where is your wedding location? We decided to do ours inside because it gets very windy by the beach at night, and if it's not windy, there's mosquitos.....
  10. Thank you, soooo helpful!!! I'm getting super excited, but i'm sad I have to wait until January!
  11. Welcome Kari!!! I'm getting married @ the NJ on the 18th How far into planning are you? How many guests are you inviting?
  12. Awesome, 25 is an ideal number in my eyes...We invited 137, and i'm freaking out a little bit. I know 40-50% wont come, but i'm still anxious thinking about it. And i'm stillllll getting pressure into inviting more people, lol, not happening! I'm thinking of doing white/coral, or white/blush, with a vintage feel. Not sure exactly how i'm going to blend that in. I went dress shopping unexpectedly (i was in sweatpants, no makeup, and had my glasses on) with my mom a few weekends ago "just to look". My original plan was to pay this lady on Etsy to make a replica of the dress I thought I wanted. Well, once I got THE dress on I couldn't take it off and had to buy it. Ohhhh well, going to have to save money somewhere else. I haven't really figured out any of the other details yet, though I'm trying to decide what I want to do for DIY centerpieces bc there is no way I'm paying >$200 per table. Sent my save the dates out friday!!!!! How about you, how far into planning are you guys?! Welcome!! How is planning going? Great to hear from another January bride
  13. Congratulations!!!! How exciting Thank you for replying, i'm so glad to hear that you had a good experience. Hopefully he'll post some "teaser" pics on his blog soon. I cant remember, do you get digital photos as well as actual prints that you can put into an album? How did you end up paying your remaining balance, check or paypal at the reception? Thank you
  14. I feel your pain, crazzyyyy expensive! For eyelashes lol!!! I'm also hesitant with groupons too bc I sometimes feels that they're trying to get you there bc they dont have enough buisness. If we're lucky, maybe a Groupon will come out for a place with an AMAZING reputation
  15. Welcome!!! I'm getting married @ NJ on the 14th!!!! I'm from Boston, you?
