    Hey ladies! I'm getting married @ Now Jade on Jan 18, 2014!! Just signed my room block contract this week, how far along in the process are you? How many people are you inviting? The cost seams to really go up once you go over the package coverage lol bahhhhh.... And also, is it warm enough to go in the water in January??!!

    I guess i'm a little bit confused...the package PDF that I've received has the DJ option listed for 4 hours, but I am reading hear that the reception block is now only 3 hours unless you want to pay $15pp to extend. So if you don't extend, is their a different DJ option?? I hate that they're making all of these changes lately. By the time I get married it's going to be down to a 2 hour reception... I'm almost contemplating just bringing my ipod, if I do, do they have a microphone available with the rental?

    Figuring out the guest list has been the worst! Think I may have to make a "b" list! I love the idea of CD save the dates, I had never heard of that before. So my original plan was to try on some dresses and then have someone on Etsy make me a copycat dress for around $400. Wellllll, my mom made me stop at the dress shop the other day "just to look". Anyhow, I ended up trying on a few and then fell in love with "the one"!!! I seriously would have paid whatever they wanted for it. lol ohhhhh well, i'll just have to try and save money on something else. Originally I thought I wanted something simple and Aline, but the saleswomen had me try on a mermaid from the Vera Wang White collection and I felt like such a bride. I never though that style with a poofy train would look good on me because i'm on the shorter side (5'4"). The funny thing is I hate how it looks in the catalog and I never would have thought to try it on...I'll post pics once I pick it up! I'm still torn on colors as well...I think i'm between coral/white, or white/blush/gold.... I'm trying not to worry about that stuff until the summer, but I just cant help it!! I blame pinterest All this wedding and mexico talk makes me want a Margarita!!

    I was also considering doing a "first look" or maybe a partial first look where we take some cute pictures together before the ceremony but the grooms eyes are closed or he has a blindfold on...I am curious to see what others think about this as well

    OMG i'm so jealous that you're almost done, sooooooo excited for you!!!! I ended up going with Destination weddings.com because two girls that I work with had done their weddings with them and had no issues (we all had/have Debbie Johnson). I initially freaked out after reading some of their reviews on here, but honestly my travel agent is amazing. She is so reliable, always gets back to my bazillion emails, and has great suggestions on how to sort out some of the details (when to send save the dates, putting together a room block, etc).. Another plus is she is actually stopping by the resort this week while she is on a group trip with friends to "check it out" and get me some pictures...I also sent her with a list of questions I had for the wedding planner lol.. As far as rates are concerned, looking at rates through expedia etc. is slightly cheaper, but ive read that because the rooms aren't in a room block guests could get bumped if the resort is overbooked, that kind of drifted me away from going that route.... Either way, there are so many options, try to get word of mouth on a specific travel agent as opposed to a company. Bahhhh so many decisions!! I'm freaking out because we are inviting 135 people, ideally i want 80, but i'm okay with 100... we'll see how that goes lol... Have you thought about colors? type of gown you want?! Are you planning on visiting each of the 7 resorts on your trip? I'd love to see the groomsmen gifts that you made when you have a pic.... I'll shoot you any information I get about Now Jade once my travel agent gets back.

    I was contemplating this a lot when trying on dresses as well....I always though I needed a white dress, but the ivory just looked so much better with my skin tone....in looking at pictures of other peoples weddings, I've noticed white, ivory, and blush dresses and they have all looked amazing!! My fiance is also going to be wearing khaki suit with a white shirt (and some type of tie, but i cant decide which color lol) People are going to be so stuck on how stunning YOU look that they wont notice that your dress and his shirt don't match Go with the dress you loveeee and never want to take off!!

    It all comes down with what works best for you...honestly, picking the date was so hard because everyone had an opinion and I was trying to make it work for everyone. I believe summer is the cheapest, but I couldn't wait THAT long, and it would be a bazzilion degrees on my wedding day lol.... Maybe people could book a tropical view room (the cheapest), to make up for the higher airfare prices?? The truth of the matter is, people will really try their best to be there for you... Alllll these tough decisions bahhhhhh

    I like "Makeup Forever" and MAC w/ primer and setting spray.... I'm the person that always wants at least SOME makeup on, even on those hot and humid days....these products seamed to have held up the best for me...even in the blazing sun lol....Good luck!!

    After reading this thread I was totally convinced that I was going to get a knock off dress made by a designer on Etsy.... Yesterday I went to try on dresses just to "make sure" that I liked the style that I was going to have made. Well, once I put "the one" on, I couldn't take it off and absolutely had to buy it! Bahahaaaa ohhhh wellll, looks like i'll have to save money somewhere else! Good luck everyone

    We used the font Mishka. It's $45 but it's totally worth it (from dafonts.com) . I have MS Word 2010 and it works lovely. It's OpenType so you have about 9 choices of what you would like each letter to look like. You can also pick and choose which letters get to be extra fancy and which will be more plain. This is the photo that originally gave me the idea to purchase this font. I unfortunately didnt take any photos of my invites, but they came out very similar. If you end up going with this font, let me know if you have any questions bc it took me a little bit to figure out how to use it. Good luck!
