  1. Royal Caribbean, Brilliance of the Seas, 3/20/2014, port of Tampa, embarkation day wedding, Sending out save the dates the first week in April
  2. Thanks for the link to cruise critic, I too am apprehensive about not being able to "control" all the planning. I will check it out. I like to at least know what to expect so that I am able to prepare accordingly. I have done 21 cruises and this will be my first wedding aboard one. Alot can happen in the 5 hours that has to accommodate getting to the ship, getting ready, the ceremony and the reception all in time for the mandatory boat drill....ugh! It just seems like not enough time for the wedding experience. (I have been to some wedding that last like 6-8 hours.) Even so, I have always wanted a cruise wedding, so I am gonna do it! As far as cruising, once the cruise has started, you can do as little or as much as you like. The atmosphere is laid back and the cruise line gives you a daily itenerary the night before so you can plan your next days events.
  3. Most day of sail weddings can only allow for a reception to last only 1-2 hours, not being familiar with wedding receptions, I would like to hear from people who have experienced a cruise ship reception and can share their experience. I would like to know if it is structured or up to the wedding couple to lead the activities??
  4. Including children in the sand ceremony is an awesome idea, children today feel left out in new relationships. I need to do this for my 19 year old, LOL. Your husband did a wonderful job on the box as well, congrats to you both!!
  5. I did NOT read all 44 pages of post, but I wanted to add my 2 cents in on this one.....Coupons can lower the cost of the items for the OOT bags significantly.
  6. I have never heard of this before, This seems like a great way to offset the cost of a group excursion.
  7. I am at a loss as to how to get people to hand over money in a timely fashion, because I am in the same boat, even family members that say they are coming are procrastinating and YES it is frustrating!!!! Keep your head up and carry on is all that you can do.
  8. Hair, nails, and $200???? That sounds like enough for BM who are just there......js
  9. Congrats!! I am happy to hear of another awesome cruise wedding.
  10. I agree with Andreann, you can do as little or as much as you like, it just depends on your budget. That is why I am choosing a cruise wedding. Andreann, I have seen your posts on here and am happy to hear that your wedding turned out great!!! I was worried about others posts, but your post has reassured that I chose the best venue. I am an avid cruiser and wouldn't have my wedding any other way!!! Your pics are beautiful!! Congrats!!
  11. The cheapest time of year for cruising is End of Sept-Dec. The cruise companies aslo tell you in their brochure when peak season is and how much extra you're gonna pay. They are pretty straight forward. Unfortunately I picked one of the most expensive times to get married as my daughter is in the Navy and had to work around her deployment schedule, but it is still cheaper than other venues.
  12. I am getting married on the boat before the cruise at a port near our home base so that our friends and family can come. Most of our out of town guests are going to cruise with us.
  13. I am getting married on RC Brilliance of the seas 3/2014 and I read the post from a very disgruntled bride. I voiced my concerns with the Royal romance department and she did acknowledge that RC had just taken over doing their own weddings last year and have recently hired more people to assist with the planning and coordination of weddings. The wedding itself is not that hard to pull off, I am worried about the reception....however I am working with the groups dept. to plan a separate celebration while on the ship for all who cruise with us, because the one hour prior to sail reception just isn't going to be enough for our group, LOL!!!
  14. I too am getting married on RC Brilliance of the Seas. The photographers onboard are very talented and professional. The wedding package includes several photos, however they have photo sessions every night on board the ship and you can take formal or casual photos with numerous backgrounds. We get our family pics done on the cruise ships every year. Both Carnival and RC have some of the best photographers around. I am unfamiliar with the TTD...what's that all about??
  15. I too am getting married on a RC cruise and so far I have not had any issues. I too am not to thrilled with not having a lot of contact before the cruise itself, but I have been on several cruises and feel confident that all will go well. Will tune it to this post to see how others fair with them.
  16. You have so many wonderful ideas, you must have spent a fortune on OOT bags!!! They are definately gonna be a hit at your wedding. I also like the wine charm idea as well.
  17. I was wondering the same thing about vistaprint, thanks for posting this info!!
  18. Wow thanks for sharing this, I too am doing the cups, and I appreciate the tip on getting extras just in case!!
  19. You really did an awesome job on these!!! Everything is very organized. I hope that I can be this organized when it comes time for me to make mine. I hope all went well with your wedding.
  20. This is a great idea!!! I am doing a wedding cruise and will be partying with guests for several days as well, it would be fun to give away the awards at the last night dinner.
  21. These really look fabulous and the names entertwined are great!! Thanks for sharing. I have been looking for cheap towels online.
  22. I too feel the same as you, I would like to get started on the projects but can't. LOL So I will be working on my postings as much as possible.
  23. I too am a platinum member with Carnival, but I chose to do my wedding with RC because the closest port is Tampa and RC has the nicer ship. We are getting married on Brilliance of the Seas on March 20, 2014. I too found it difficult to get hold of the Royal Romance team at first, but once you book your wedding they give you another number and answer right away. I too had reservations about booking my wedding on a cruise and not knowing the details until a few weeks before the actual date, but I figure as long as I show up almost ready, they will pull things off for us. I have only read one bad review and heard several people say they would do it again!
