My website is "done" although I seem to keep making changes here and there haha. I need to stop but I guess it's the procrastinator in me! People can see it already but I keep adding things. I did gave them a warning that I'd be updating it as I go so to keep checking back lol. We will be sending our invites probably in the middle of July right in time for our Aug 19 deposit deadline. So it would all be a year before the wedding and then I can start the real planning.

good luck! She's pretty awesome. I really hope she can jump in and help out. I think it will take a lot of stress off your shoulders. Yeah! I always thought it was better to go with a TA because my friends are so disorganized and I really don't want to be chasing them to book and the process would have been super stressful for me. I spoke with a couple of other TA's a long time ago at one of the bridal fairs but when we met up with LaurieLee we didn't even shop around lol, we just booked

Is she through a travel agency or a private TA? If she's through an agency, what if you talk to the company about the awful service you're getting? Maybe they'll switch you? It's just a shame that you will lose out on the perks because someone doesn't care enough to do her job right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Best Ways To Prevent Sunburn?
TinkerSofi replied to TinkerSofi's topic in Destination Wedding Articles
Luckily I tan but I have to be super patient and it has to be really gradual. I'm ok when the sun is not too strong but the caribbean sun destroys me every time, no matter how much sunscreen I wear . I think I'll definitely do some fake tanning to help the process a bit. I'll just have to wear baby sunscreen before the wedding hahah. -

I did! I think we're saving a lot on our hotel so yay! I just found out azul fives is on the expensive side of the karisma family hotels. Oops! Haha. No one has booked yet but she's always been around every time I have questions or anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Newly Engaged And Looking For A Fab Canadian Travel Agent
TinkerSofi replied to FutureMrsAllison's topic in Newbies!!
Go to her website LaurieLee.ca and she has her 1-800 number there in case you're not calling from Calgary. I have the same TA and I really recommend her. She helped us out to pick another hotel when we had to switch before booking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 22 replies

Yes! So where they sell the alfajores it's actually my mom who makes them and she has dulce de leche. She can make the tiny jars for a special order and she has the bigger jars usually at the store . This is the address #32 2110-41 ave NE. I put dulce de leche on everything! Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I don't think so. They should be ok I think but it would really depend on how many I need to bring. They can also be packaged just to make the trip. I wouldn't get the decorated ones just out of fear that the decorations will not make it and then I can't replace them with more. Plan b is tiny jars of dulce de leche and they would go inside the same boxes . That might be a lot easier to carry over there too. I'm kind of torn between the two. -

We're bringing small alfajores and putting them in little favor boxes that I bought on ebay [emoji16]. Here are pictures www.cocokaramel.ca Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Don't stress too much about accommodating everyone. There will always be someone who can't go. Of course, ask around and see if there is a time when most people can't come but at the end of the day you also have to take into account how expensive are the fares during that time and does that affect the hotel you want to go to, the weather, etc. Also, think that this is going to be the day that you and your hubby will celebrate forever . I booked everything a year and 2 months before and I still have people saying that they can't come because they already have previous commitments :S

@@jackielemman thank you! I'm so glad I kept an open mind because it is totally different from the other dresses I was looking at -
Octavio Montes for sure! His Pictures are really good and he has a few packages under $1000 we were looking for the same as you and just booked him . He has his packages posted online www.octaviomontes.com. He really offers a lot for the value We looked into bringing someone from home but it was still more expensive Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can't believe things got rolling so quickly! We've been confirmed for our reception at the Sky Deck and now just waiting confirmation for its availability for the reception. We've picked our menu, decorations and our invitations are being printed right now. It's crazy how quick things go! . I'm even surprised that our wedding coordinator answered us within a day. She seems pretty awesome. Smooth sailing over here so far! We also hired Octavio Montes for our photos and videos. I would really recommend for you guys to check him out! After searching around for the prices of photographers in the area we finally came across him through another bride on this forum. We are on a pretty tight budget and after hearing about the $800 outside vendor fee we thought we were stuck with the resort photographer because we wouldn't be able to afford anything else. When I went into Octavio's website I was surprised by the quality of his pictures and videos. They were up to par with some of the more expensive photographers we had looked into but his prices were extremely fair. The best part is that since he offers both pictures and video you only pay the outside vendor fee once! We were super happy that we didn't have to sacrifice the video! His response is always quick and he seems to really take pride in his work. I can't wait to work with him and I hope you really consider him as your photographer too . PM me if you would like more details, or of course, visit his website www.octaviomontes.com and check out his work.

How Much Is The Trip Costing Your Guests
TinkerSofi replied to kcole123's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
I'm hoping for the same! I really want that free cocktail hour...and maybe a few other events hahah. Bottom line is, we can't afford a cocktail hour on our own so if it's not free we have to cancel it . I'm also really counting on the free people we get with the group to help our family come from Argentina and Colombia. I feel awkward saying that to guests when they ask if it's better for me if they book through the group. I don't want to put them between a rock and a hard place, but if my grandma could come I would be in heaven! So far i've only had one person say that they might look elsewhere. When I talked to my TA she said that there is only one tour operator that goes to our hotel next year so the prices will not vary much and if they are able to find something really cheap there is either something wrong with the pricing or our group can get a discount too! -
@@carmor2 have you tried talking to your TA about alternative resorts? We were really set on one hotel but then there were these whole bunch of little things that weren't panning out at the time of booking so we needed to change. We were really reluctant, since we had gone to do a site visit to our first choice and everything, but our TA was phenomenal in suggesting different hotels that were in the same price range and that met all of our requirements. In the end, we chose one that was $100 more for a 7 day stay but it has much better reviews and just seems like a better resort overall. By the way, I have the same TA as @@kmk2016

@@nikkicraig10 I just spoke with my TA and she told me no one has booked hahah. I felt like a kid that they just said "you have no friends" to hahah. I better get my family on it to at least make some numbers! haha. I'm still far away from the deadline so I'm not worried (2 months). Most people have said that they are coming but I know everyone is procrastinating. I'm hoping they will start booking when I send invitations next month. -
Hang in there! I just made it last week, after being a year around here. However, once you get all the planning rolling you'll have them in no time! I had to take a hiatus last year from planning because the wedding got delayed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They require a $150 deposit it ends up being $1700 with taxes for the cheapest room. The fiancé and I are splurging with an upgrade and it will cost us $1900 with taxes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
