that can be true, but maybe check out the different hotels that different TA's suggest that meet your requirements and then book the one you like the most with the TA that has a relationship with it. I find that way you can get way better deals if you do that. At the end of the day, if you're not set on one hotel 100% it's better to go with one that will give you nice perks, and one way to do that is to book through a TA that works with them. The hotel we originally wanted was giving us no perks at all, maybe because our TA hasn't worked with them too much. Anyway, she suggested Azul Fives because it met our requirements of nice venues not on the beach, our price range, and the fact that it was close to nightlife. I actually think it was a better choice than our first choice and we hadn't even heard about this hotel before. So, I could say that maybe she swayed us this way, but at the same time she listened to what we wanted and suggested something that had most, if not all of it. So shop around the different suggestions you have been given and then book what better meets your needs and wants, with a TA that can get you the deals!

same with us! We're actually heading to the bank this week to ask about mortgages and seeing realistically how much we can afford . I've been to Argentina, Canada, Dominican Repubic, the US and Mexico

Ew, yeah I can only imagine haha. The first time I got mine threaded I got a lot of little pimples but now it's not so bad, I only get a few and I don't even do them that often, maybe once every 3 months haha.

thanks! I'll look into it because I love the look of shellac

That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm really not the one to go tanning but I figured only once and go little by little probably won't hurt. I can tan too but it takes some effort haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was thinking of getting eyelash extensions because I'm allergic to the glue for fake eyelashes. I still have long and thick eyelashes but it's just a bit to add a little extra something. And they'll look great in all the pictures even without makeup haha. Tinted eyelashes look great, I got it done once . I'm opting for fake tanning vs. spray tanning because I think it will really help me in preventing burns rather than going with my pasty skin hahah Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Complaints!
TinkerSofi replied to TheBHolders's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
My fiance's dad sort of complained but he's coming haha. He just said that it was expensive and that no one would come. I know he'll have a blast when he's there, but he's just the type of guy who thinks vacations are a waste of money. Other than that, only my fiance's friends who said that "I" picked the most expensive resort I could find. That sort of hurt my feelings because both my fiancé and I picked it and we had our reasons, but I'm over it now. Whoever wants to be there will be and I try to focus on those people and the fact that I will still be getting married with the wedding we both dreamed of [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Yeah that would be kind of gross. Where I go they separate the wax they will use on me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You're not the only one! We're just getting out of the student status haha, which means we've been broke forever and this wedding plus a house in the near future is not helping [emoji13] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No! Lots of people have never waxed! I don't want to throw too much info out there but I get everything waxed from the waist down haha. It's actually not as bad as people make it sound Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I want to get some of those veil weights. I wanted to see if I could make them myself even because they're quite expensive but I don't know if the DIY ones will be heavy enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@@calgarybride2015 one of my best friends is really good with nails so I was thinking either getting her to make me a french manicure the day before the wedding/go to the salon over there/or just suck it up and get french shellac. They look nice but i have to brace myself for the months of frustration afterwards (they will actually break where the nail is still attached to the nailbed so they can be quite painful). I think I'll get a nice pink on my toes to make them fun and because my toes are very small and look ridiculous with a french pedicure haha.
-
Oh i've been considering these things since like 3 months ago haha. I wanted to get shellac but when I get them removed I pay the price because my nails keep breaking for about 3 months until they grow all out. I'm not a big fan of fake nails because I type a lot at work and I find the nails get in the way haha. I love how they look, just not how they feel .

I've been waxing for many years (since puberty pretty much). The first strip is always the most painful but soon your skin becomes used to it. Also, parts that are closer to bone or that have thicker hair (like your ankles) will be the most painful. My legs turn really red right after but it's gone by the next day. I usually get my waxing done a day before leaving on my vacation because my hair starts growing right away (sad story of my life haha). I think you should be fine having it today, also because if you shave you might have to wait a week or two before the hair is long enough for the wax to grab it. @@calgarybride2015 the same thing happens to me, when I used to wax them and now that I thread them too. That will definitely be done about a week before haha.

I know I need an updo. I just don't want to deal with the wind and my long hair just blowing everywhere haha. Plus it will get really hot so I prefer to just have it up and out of my mind .

the same thing happened to me and I'm so glad I made that choice. Even if it blows in the wind I'll suck it up ahah. I'm looking for a hair accessory too but since I still don't know how my hair will look I'm at a total loss. Should i get a headband, a flower, a comb? such a tough choice because they're all beautiful!

Elsa's & Arthur's Wedding @ Rprm 2014.12.08
TinkerSofi replied to Icis's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
I have to say I really enjoyed reading your thread. I've gotten some great ideas and I loved the scavenger hunt idea . How much is it for the wedpics app (is that what it's called?). That's great that your fiance is helping you out so much! I'm cutting mine some slack since he's in his last year of university and super stressed but we also make decisions together and we made our invitations together . Your invitations looked super classy, I loved them. We had the same issue, we included the minimum necessary on them and directed people to our website with all the info which no one read hahah. Oh well. I know you mentioned that you booked a tour for everyone. Did you pay for everyone or just make a reservation? Do you think it's cheaper to book them ahead of time or once we get there so we can negotiate prices for bringing so many people?- 87 replies

What Language Is Your Ceremony In?
TinkerSofi replied to TinkerSofi's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
@@calgarybride2015 yeah I really don't know who's worse at writing things, my fiance or me . The other day he told me, related to a paper at school, "after I'm done school, whatever I have to write I'll do it in point form" haha. -
I'm definitely keeping my dress up there with a carry on suitcase with the more delicate things/more expensive things. AKA there's no way we're checking our rings. When my parents traveled to NYC their luggage got lost and when they got it back they had stolen a bunch of things, so just in case. I'd like to bring the (fake) flowers on there so they don't get crushed, but maybe I'll find a way of checking them where they'll be safe. I also usually like to bring a change of clothes and a swimsuit in case our luggage gets lost or in case we arrive before our room is ready. Since we're going with a direct flight that doesn't arrive until the afternoon I think I'll save that spot for something for important. Our families will probably all bring carry ons with wedding stuff haha .
