I think I found my shoes! At least I got one thing done from my to do list this month haha. And they were on sale![emoji383] I can't wait for them to arrive [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah that's the thing, the sellers don't usually set up the shipping cost to make money, they just pass on the cost to you (especially when it comes to small businesses like on etsy). it's just so frustrating, especially for us Canadians, we never get in those free shipping deals. Today I wanted to get a cute little Harry potter keychain for my friend for Christmas. The only problem was that the keychain was $12 and the shipping was $30 Bahaha [emoji38][emoji24]. Are they insane? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Shipping is my ultimate enemy haha, which is too bad because I really like online shopping haha

Show Us Your Bridesmaids Attire
TinkerSofi replied to MrsCtoB's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I love the look of long dresses for bridesmaids but the fiance doesn't (he basically has to put up with mine because I told him that there was no way I'd get a short dress for my wedding hahah). I guess short it is for the bridesmaids, and there's some really pretty ones out there. I just love the formal look of long dresses -
you will be ok. The Miami coordinators put together the biggest things like what menu you want, venue and things like that. When it comes to the details that's all set up when you arrive at the resort with the onsite coordinator. They can take a while to respond from Miami but at least for me it hasn't been a big deal so far. We've had plenty of time to plan so maybe that's why.

I am such a people pleaser, it's almost painful haha. For the longest time I didn't have any social functions at my house because of the way they made me feel, totally inadequate, stressed out because I worried so much about people getting bored or what they might think of the party I put together. I've gotten better at it and through trial and error I found out that people have a good time when you have a good time. It's kinda funny how that works. I'm really trying to prepare myself mentally because I know for a fact I will struggle with the same feelings as you. "are people having fun?" "am i distributing my time evenly among my guests?" and the list of self-demands goes on and on. Anyway, I think you shouldn't worry too much about what your friend said. I personally think she was the one with unrealistic expectations and it's somewhat unfair to you. It sounds to me like you did everything you could and I'm sorry she felt that way but like you said, it probably isn't about you.

I'm so worried about this because I put so much pressure on myself that I need to keep everyone occupied and entertained, but at the end of the day people need to understand that you have a lot of guests and unfortunately can't spend all your time with everyone. You also need to spend time with your fiancé and enjoy yourself. You are not a clown and your job is not to keep people entertained. Maybe your friend didn't say it to make you feel bad, I'm sure she understands that it was impossible to do more than what you did. I know I'll end up super overwhelmed by the end of the week, which is why we wanted to stay another week by ourselves but it just won't be possible due to finances. Don't beat yourself up over it. If your guests didn't have fun or whatever, that's their problem because it's honestly impossible to get bored there haha. You're only two people and they need to understand that this was a vacation for everyone, including you and your fiancé. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Definitely don't feel bad about sending a friendly reminder to guests. Many might have forgotten and they will appreciate it. Also, most of our guests waited until the last 2 days to book, including my fiance's family haha. i laugh now, but it was pretty stressful at the time and I think we've all been there. I just sent texts to people or called them and I know @@kmk2016 did some amazing postcards from vistaprint as reminders. I don't think it's pushy. It's your wedding and at the end of the day you don't want anyone to miss the deadline and come later saying that it's too expensive to book. People understand that the couple need to get stuff done, even if it means taking two minutes out of their day to read a reminder.

ohh ok, yeah I don't think they'd work either but I think the postcards look great already

Good to know! Sometimes hotels will make an exception for the fee when they dont offer that service. Mine does now so I have to go with then but I heard good things about their salon so I'm not so worried anymore. Also, since I speak the language it's easier to make myself understood as to what I want. I'm hoping that will help Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is the stamp I have. You can always put this one and then write in the date by hand Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have an idea! I have these stamps that might work. I'll post the picture when I get home Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What about getting something made at staples? They might have something. Or what about making clear labels on the computer and sticking them on? So I went to Oksanas's to see what dresses they had. First off they looked at me like I was a weirdo when I asked them if they had periwinkle dresses hahah. They didn't have any by the way, but said they could order them in. The only bad part is that they don't have fabric swatches and periwinkle is one of those colors that everyone calls it by a different name so I need to see it at least before ordering. I was looking at weddingtonway.com and they seem to have some really nice ones. I can actually order the swatches to make sure which one is the color I need. The downside being that we all need to take a leap of faith and order without trying them on. Lucky for me my maids of honor would look good in pretty much anything hahah but I don't know if they want to take that leap of faith. We're going to check out a few places over the Christmas break and I guess online will be our last resort.

Dress Cleaning!
TinkerSofi replied to chelseapaige37's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I know that preservation prevents it from getting yellow. Maybe that's the difference between the box and garment bag I'm guessing the more oxygen that touches the dress the quicker it will become yellow because it's an oxidation process. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I like the dresses i've seen on David's bridal, on the website, but then we stopped by with the fiance the other day and I only liked one dress that they had there. I think it's the same one as the one for your bridesmaids haha. My color is so hard to find! I've looked online as well but I don't know if I want to risk buying something that no one has been able to try on.

For those who already shopped for bridesmaid dresses, where did you find the best prices? I'm helping out my maids of honor with $150 and they can either shop within that price or pay the difference since they get to choose their own dress. Is that realistic? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What LaurieLee told us was that you can change the name on the flights as long as the trip isn't paid in full. So you can reserve now for those 3 and then change the names if needed. We're going with transat so I'm not sure if it's more of a company policy and it might be different for westjet. Best of luck! Hopefully she has good news for you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
