It seems as though they are giving you the subpar treatment because you have less guests, which is a shame. I would call them out on it and see what happens before you lose out on your deposit. I haven't requested any areas for pictures. I didn't know that we needed to do that but I'm fine with taking pictures wherever we can, there's so many beautiful places. Another idea, is to go to Playa to take pictures and then head to the reception. There are so many great places and I love the artistic flare that the pictures have with the city as a backdrop. Or what about doing a first look? You might be able to get around the fact that they're setting up weddings by taking your pictures earlier. For me, aside of the fact that they want to charge you extra because you breathe pretty much, I haven't had too many issues. I just get frustrated with the lack of perks for Canadian brides. I'm calling BS on the fact that they give you the same amount of a discount on our vacation packages. I'm not saying let's get everything the US brides get, but something would be nice. I just found out they also get a discount on the menu prices (on top of everything else), what do we get? nothing. I would be a 100% happy camper if I was in the States and I'd even be happier to pay their outrageous fees because you're getting so many other free things. Ok rant over haha.

Oh man that truly sucks and I'm so sorry. Hopefully it will be half healed by the time the wedding rolls around and the cast can come off at times, for longer periods of time. As someone who got stuck with a non-removable cast for half a summer I feel your pain, but the good thing is that at least you can remove yours to swim and things like that . that would be the best haha. I remember when I had that cast, I went to a place that was like a huge supermarket/home store (i lived in Argentina back then) and they gave me a scooter to get around. I felt like the queen of the store. It was so much fun haha.

that's exactly what i'm doing. I mean, all my BM bouquets are fake, but I'm using them for the center pieces too, rather than buying and bringing even more flowers. I agree that as long as your vases are not glass they're probably not very heavy and you can sneak them in anywhere. I have 6 little jars that I need to bring and some lanterns too. My plan is to put the lanterns in a carry on and spread the jars among different carry ons of family members. This honestly feels like I'm smuggling in drugs hahah

I think you can never go wrong with vanilla but I would clarify about the dulce de leche. 3 leches and dulce de leche are not the same. 3 leches is like a moist, sweet, tasty cake. It tastes like a vanilla cake infused with condensed milk, just delicious. Dulce de leche is also very yummy and it tastes a lot like caramel, but better in my opinion, so you'll love it! Whichever of those two it is (dulce de leche or 3 milks) i think your cake will be a hit

3 Month Count Down?

How about booking things like a facial or something like that to make your skin look super healthy on the day of? I'm still not that far out so that's all I can think of haha. -
It really makes no sense considering the gas prices are so low. How airlines operate makes no sense to me haha. I'm hoping for the best ladies, and let's hope those prices go down. Your guests might be able to luck out on a sale

I agree, I'd try to go undercover with it so no one will know and they can't say anything -

good to know! I'll keep mine as it is then. I have a 30-40 people cake for a bit over 40 people. If there's any left over I'll them them to put it on a plate and I'll eat it all by myself in my room hahah! -
Groom's Attire
TinkerSofi replied to MissFrench's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
We're having our wedding in August, so just as hot as July . We didn't want to go for a beach casual look so the groomsmen will be wearing grey summer dress pants from Express. They're sort of a cotton, stretchy fabric, they're pretty comfy according to Juan and they always seem to have sales like buy one, get one 50% off. Then we'll pair that with white shirts and a tie or bow tie with suspenders. Juan will be wearing a suit, at least for the ceremony. He wants to get it at Hugo Boss but I finally convinced him to go with a light color (he wanted navy originally).- 12 replies

I can't wait to read more. Your proposal story is so heartfelt, I loved it. You know you have a keeper when you have someone like that, who will be there by your side no matter what. I think it was a perfect time to propose. It's funny that he says that he knew you guys would be together. Our story is somewhat similar, and we run across each other again after a few months of not seeing one another. I had a boyfriend, but to this day I remember him telling me, "I don't care who you're with right now, because I know you and I will end up together. We're just meant to be" haha.

I'm sure you won't regret your choice. That's an excellent price for the time of the year you're traveling in! So I went back to notes I had when I first got in contact with my TA. She actually recommended the Grand Sirenis to us along with Azul Fives when our first choice didn't pan out! haha I've only heard good things about this resort.

Thanks, I think it will look better than the one I had seen at David's Bridal because it's simpler. I'm a pretty small person so I never like wearing too many things at once I agree about the hair, and MOH #2 said she will get an updo as well for the same reason I know right? The nice curly hair probably last until the party begins I'm guessing, but I still want to look somewhat presentable after that haha. Thanks. I kept searching for other jewellery to see if I liked anything else more but I can't, so I guess that's a sign that I'm ready to commit

A new trip always gives you something to look forward to. I'm always the planner so I spend hours doing research as to what we're going to do there, where we can go, etc. It gives me something to do while the time comes, and Juan doesn't mind because he hates planning, he just gives me a list of things he wants to do and I just include them

I'm loving those cards. This is exactly what I was thinking of for when we come back. I really don't think it looks bad that the picture wraps into the back and I love the idea that you're including extra pictures for each person. It makes the cards to much more personalized . That's what I was considering for our DIY photophooth. I'm sure your guests will love them and it will bring back such good memories! I'm trying to enjoy the planning because of what you said, while at the same time I want to fast forward time hahah. talking about honeymoon, I saw a video of Fiji yesterday. All I can say is OMG hahah. I want to leave everything and just move there . I wonder how much it costs to go there... I think we're going to keep our honeymoon simple because we're traveling to Argentina and possibly Colombia next year. I've never been to Colombia and I'm so excited to go! Luckily all this wedding stuff is helping me rack up points on my credit card so we should be able to pay for one ticket using points

Cake Flavors - Karisma Resorts
TinkerSofi replied to girlinthecity97's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
that's awesome. We chose vanilla rum for one of them so I'm glad it was delicious. Now I'm wondering whether I even want to being boxes...hahah we'll see I guess. It depends on our final cake to people ratio How big was your cake and how many guests did you have? -
I'm sure it was tough to go without your mom. Moments like these are always tough, but I'm glad you had supportive people around you to help you out . I like dress #1 and #2 the best. I really like how the color of #2 looks on you. I think brighter whites look really nice on your skin tone. I also like a fit a flare with a belt like on #1. I keep going to #2 though so I guess that's my fave Edit: in terms of feeling somewhat unsure of which one to pick and whether there's better ones out there I think it's totally normal. I felt like that for a couple of months and I think we always wonder whether we could find something better. Now, if there's anything I learned on my psychology degree, after we make a choice our brains automatically extra convince themselves that we made the right choice. Basically you look at your choice under rose covered glasses hahah. So I think as long as you love your dress now, if you commit to it and don't keep shopping around you'll be happy with your choice. It's normal for pretty much everyone to second guess their dress from time to time because there are so many choices! My best advice is to try and not think about "could I have gotten something better?", chances are that if you searched high and low forever yes, you will find something better, but what's the point? are you happy with your dress? Do you see yourself walking down the aisle with it feeling like a queen? that's all you need
