  1. I finally caught up with your thread . I love your rings and I love your engagement pictures. Everything looks very nice. Your invites turned out great, she did a great job with them
  2. I hope you're having an amazing time!! I can't describe how jealous I am haha. Enjoy every moment because it all goes by so quickly and then you wish you could turn back time. I'm late in answering, but yes, we brought a steamer and we used it a lot, especially on the wedding day to do touch ups on my dress and the bridesmaids' dresses. I can't wait to hear about your wedding!!
  3. Congrats on your legal ceremony!! You both look so happy The tables issue, that would be one thing I would not budge. I know he might not see it now but he will once he gets there and sees everything set up. Do not give in on this one haha. I agree with @@calgarybride2015 that it will be too cramped with everyone on those little tables. Plus it makes it very hard to feed children and babies when the kids can't even reach the table. Another logistics problem is women wearing heels. I would hate to have nowhere to sit for 6-8 hours. I can't even count the amount of times Juan told me that something was an overkill or it was silly, only to admit that I was right when he saw it all put together. So hang in there, dig your heels in and just tell him that this is how it's going to be haha. Men have a tough time seeing the big picture for weddings and what they think might be "practical", actually isn't when it comes to weddings. Sometimes, while they might not agree, you just have to tell them that you know what you're doing and there's a reason why you can't compromise on this one specific topic. He will come around and I'm sure. PS: @@calgarybride2015 high chairs are the worst!! haha My feet get so swollen and numb after a while lol. Short girl problems I guess
  4. I can't believe that it's all so close now!! I would love to be going back to AF this weekend haha. I'd even take the BDR deal even if it's just to go there for a couple of days, even if my wedding is done haha. I can't believe about those people. Also, one thing is for them to be like "Oh I want to come last minute" another is to invite themselves to your honeymoon haha. I just can't believe someone would ask that lol. I remember for the very last minute people I just told them to contact our TA and make their own plans. I was done mediating between people. I also told them that they had until XXX date to make a decision because I needed to pay everything and finalize numbers. I remember the person who caused us all this trouble at the very end (leaving his brother alone in the room, cancelling 12hrs before the final deadline, making us pay an extra $500, etc), well, one week before the wedding he's like "Oh I might still come". I think you could totally see my eye twitching when he said that bahaha. I just told him that it was too late and I couldn't change my numbers anymore. Some people, seriously.
  5. Azul Fives didn't offer us many perks because we are Canadian. We got one of their packages for the reception tables and because we also upgraded our ceremony to the sky deck, our TA was able to negotiate the ceremony fee ($950) and they gave us that for free. Also, because we booked our travel with a GI certified TA, my hair and makeup were free as well as the trials. I also had a mani and pedi for free but I honestly didn't have time nor did i want to be stuck at the spa when the weather was so beautiful! I think our biggest perk, was getting every 11th person free. This was such a good deal! We got two people for free and we were able to help some of our friends and family out with that. At the end of the day, with perks or not, I have no regrets. I couldn't imagine my wedding anywhere else
  6. that photo booth looks great! Just an update: We decided to do our own photo booth for our wedding. We had found a local company in the Mayan Riviera that had very reasonable prices but unfortunately our hotel didn't let us work with them so we had to improvise a little. We used a tripod and my dad's dslr camera. I went through some old halloween costumes that we had and brought what I could. Then I also bought some chalkboard sign printables from etsy and made my own signs. We did not use any extra lighting and we used one of the walls at the venues as the backdrop. Overall, the whole thing cost about $15 tops, including the paper and ink to print the signs. I already had most of the props, so I didn't count that as part of the budget. This was the result:
  7. thank you! I've been so MIA. We moved this past week into our home and so it's been a busy few days. We also didn't have internet for the first few days. According to Octavio, he was sending our pictures Sep 18, so they should be here soon! Now it's time to begin planning our reception in Argentina. My family is so excited!! We found this place in the city of Necochea. I'll post more about it for those who are interested. I've only seen pictures and my family was able to go see it, they said it's beautiful, and it's great because they take care of absolutely everything
  8. the sky deck is so worth it!! I had my wedding there a bit over a month ago and it was perfect. You definitely won't go wrong with it . At times it can feel like they're nickel and diming you but it was all worth it once there. The resort is gorgeous. the service and the food is amazing and the wedding department truly go above and beyond to make sure your day is exactly as you dreamed it. I know I complained quite a bit about this resort before going there but I have nothing bad to say about it now. The price for traveling was a little bit over our budget for what we wanted our guests to pay, but everyone agreed that the extra $200 was very well worth it. For most of us, this was the best hotel we've stayed at! There's other brides on here that are having their wedding there pretty soon. I know @snswedding is going to the bride's dress rehearsal pretty soon
  9. I'm happy got hear about your Nan! those are great news I love the idea of having a "meet the guests" book. We didn't have one but most already knew each other, even if they had only seen each other once or twice
  10. Hi! I did all fake flowers except for my bouquet. I just put them all in a carry on and brought them down. They were fine when we got there Our resort charged way too much for natural flowers, which is why we went the fake flower route. If your resort charges you something decent, or if they let you work with an outside florist that can give you good prices I would go with natural flowers . Our resort didn't let us use another florist.
  11. I agree with @@calgarybride2015, I love them both, but you could also get the second one for your one year anniversary
  12. The logolenses sunglasses were a hit with our party hahah I still have a few around. They were great for excursions and being on the beach. I didn't care if they got lost or broken. But I would have cried if my expensive ones did . I love the table numbers, very cute
  13. I totally love the shoes. Totally something that I would get haha. I'm happy your friend was able to make it work and come to the wedding. We had a couple that did that too and I'm so happy they came . I paid for my Bridesmaid's dresses but it wan't always the plan. I gave them $150 each and the dress they picked was $160 so I wasn't about the make them pay $10 hahah. At the time both of them were students and I didn't think it was fair, both of them were making a huge effort to come spend the week with us . I let them pick their own dresses as long as they came in the color I picked but they all ended up choosing the same dress. It looked beautiful on everyone
  14. Hahah that's so funny that you grabbed his butt. I was a little upset because we practiced so much and it actually looked really good but at the same time, I knew he would mess up so I didn't take it too harshly. It definitely felt a lot worse than it looked [emoji13]. He was very upset actually that he blanked out and he wanted to do it again. I told him to just let it go and have fun the rest of the night. I actually told him that he wouldn't do it again because I was afraid that he would mess up again and then he would feel even worse. He had one too many tequila shots before the dance in my opinion hahah, which is why he almost dropped me at the end Lmao Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I think stacked rings look so nice! I have short and chubby fingers and now I'm wondering whether it would look good for me haha. I guess you never know until you try!
