I try . I enjoy doing these things even if sometimes they don't work. I guess I'm always doing silly experiments. Hopefully I have time today to do round 2 to see if it works! I thought the price was very reasonable! I wanted kind of a bridal belt but didn't want to spend $80-100 on it since it's only for the legal ceremony and the dress only cost me $30 hahah. I was surprised to find it at Michael's . I'm totally like a hawk when I go in there and find the most obscure things haha.

thanks! I found it right with the rest of the wedding stuff. Right by the garters. They have other ones too with flowers and things but the flowers were pretty big and I'm on the small side. I would have taken a picture of the belt with the dress but my legs need some waxing hahah. Yes! my cutting is just horrible. Let's just say I have all these ideas in my head but when it comes down to executing them it takes me a while to get them perfect

I know! time is just flying now! The music is really keeping me awake at night. I need to get on that. The stencil I used is actually for cookies, so that might have to do more with the the fact that they didn't quite turn out. I wish all crafts were as easy as they sound! Sadly they're all about trial and error at first.

Update on Stencils: I made an experiment today with the stencils to see if it would even work. I'm going to sum it up in one word: fail hahah. I had a tiny stencil and tried it out on an old shopping bag. Now, I love doing crafts but I've never been a fan of painting so I don't really do it. This is what I started out with: You can barely see the stencil because it's almost the same color of the bag. I used some double sided tape to keep it in place. Well, first attempt was really a total fail. I put the spray paint too close and basically soaked the fabric to the point it bled to the other side. Don't do that guys haha. That's the right side on the picture below. Then I decided to try again. I put the can further away and went over it a few times. It turned out a little better, but since the stencil wasn't big enough and it has really tiny parts which I couldn't put tape on, the design didn't come out very well. I'm not ready to reject the null hypothesis yet haha. I have experiment #2 to do. I'll try it with a bigger stencil and really stick the whole thing on to the fabric. Let's hope that turns out ok. On a more positive note... I felt like my dress for the legal ceremony needed a little something. I found a nice belt at Michael's. I didn't want to spend a lot, but with the coupon this ended up being $20. It looks really good with the dress, I just have to cut it.

He previous pos has really good suggestions. After picking the resort I booked our photographer and videographer (once we had a date). Then. I think for me it was thinking about invitations and getting those done. Then I bought my dress and then I started thinking about decor, timeline and things I wanted to do during the reception Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Palmtree99's Planning Thread...7/29/15
TinkerSofi replied to palmtree99's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
I think the dress looks great and no arm fat that I can see at least . I love the shoes you have on that picture too. I have very similar ones but in black but too bad they don't go with the wedding dress hahaha. -
I'm not really that young. I'll be 27 by the time we get married but I think some things are meant to be and some aren't. I don't think you need to be in your 30s to be able to recognize when you love someone and to know that you've got a good person beside you. It's a bit of a gamble no matter what age you are, sometimes things work out and sometimes they don't but that's just life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi! Welcome to the forums! You will definitely find lots of help here. Sadly I'm not very familiar with the Punta Cana and Jamaica areas since we're getting married in Mexico. How about going through some of the resort threads for the destinations you're looking at and asking the girls or doing a search or amount of guests people are having for that specific resort. The ladies can be really helpful. I agree, it can be difficult to find a resort that has the capacity for so many guests. The positive side is that it will narrow down your choices and make it a little easier to pick one . Another idea is talking with a travel agent that specializes in destination weddings. They are very familiar with the resorts in that area and they will be able to point you in the right direction to begin your research. Happy planning!

It's funny that you mention that. In our culture there is no such thing as bridesmaids and groomsmen, so our unconventional is having them! haha I guess it's all about perspective I'm also breaking the rules even more by having my brother on my side haha and he's having at least one of his sisters on his.

I know, there are things that I totally wanted to do, but then the budget doesn't allow. I still think giving them anything is great anyway, doesn't matter if it's a lot or a little, it's more the thought that counts . Juan has been thinking about this suit for ages, looking online at things he liked, etc. In a way it was harder to find his suit than it was to find my dress! haha. He just says that it's an important day and he needs to look good haha. I think a 7hr catamaran is more than enough! We got offered to do a private yacht for our guests but it was wayy more per person than what our bags cost us, so needless to say we couldn't afford it haha. As a guest at your wedding, I would be super happy with the catamaran cruise and wouldn't expect anything else. Yeah, Costco is ok but not great. Superstore wholesale wasn't amazing either. They sell a lot of materials for cooking and baking, so for restaurants and things like that and those things are cheaper, but I don't know about everything else. I think the glasses on the chairs is a fun idea! We're putting them on the welcome bags because we're not getting married until 2 days before we come back, so I think they'll get more use that way. Yeah it's the Real Canadian Superstore, but wholesale . There's one in the NE and another one by Chinook.

Centerpieces/ Decorations/ Flowers Help!
TinkerSofi replied to lornj29's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I haven't used her and I'm not sure I will. Not because I don't think she's good, I'm not using a lot of decor so I have bought most things. However, she's always been really responsive when I contacted her and I know of a few people that used her services and they were very happy. I don't know of anyone else that does this sadly. I would ask @@reynbow or @. Both of them rented out stuff from her.- 32 replies

@@nadiakat17 I agree, I'm definitely happy that I don't have to go though all the trouble of changing everything haha. My mom never changed hers either, maybe that also has to do with my decision

In our culture the kids take the dads and the moms last name. So my kids will be named Aguilar Lopez, just like I am Lopez Bilbao and he is Aguilar Zapata. That way the kids always have both the parents' names Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That's awesome! I had never heard of that before, only of guys who get really offended when women will not take their last name. Thankfully Juan left it up to me [emoji4] he said that it was my name and I should do what I wanted with it. I think if I really hated my name I would change it as it would be the perfect excuse to do it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I never wanted to change my last name, even before meeting Juan. My mind was made up pretty much since I was a teenager. I like my last name and the way I see it, if a man won't change his name why should I change mine. I know it's a silly argument haha but it makes sense in my head [emoji14]. I guess I don't have a super valid argument more than my last name being part of my identity and I want to keep that . It's always personal preference I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I visited the fossil store today and they do indeed have amazing deals. Much cheaper than their posted prices online. I got Juan some of those shaving kits, a passport holder and a luggage tag for his sort of graduation this weekend [emoji2]. He's having the ceremony to be recognized under the college for his profession . Yay! I also almost fell because the prices were so low! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I know! Holy, then we started wondering who would buy such a thing haha, probably people who wear suits every day I'm guessing. A lot of our friends are getting married so Juan will definitely use his suit again . I think even small files will do the trick. My nails grow so quickly in the tropics that I look like a witch by the time the week is over haha. I've done experiment #1 with the table numbers. I put one in my room and turned the fan on. They did move a little but they didn't tip over, which is good. Next is experiment #2, taking them outside on one of those crazy windy days we get and seeing what happens. Those sewing kits are so cute I thought. They're by the front in the $1.50 bins like Calgarybride mentioned If people don't use them this time around they might come in handy for another trip. I always make sure to bring one when I travel. Yeah! Honestly I thought we wouldn't be able to get much in that budget, but if you shop around you can definitely find good deals. If you have enough time always wait for sales and coupons everywhere . Looking at these forums you always want to go crazy and buy everything because some girls put together really good bags haha but personally I'm happy with what we got for our budget . According to Juan I'm the deal hunter hahah. We're also doing favors and I didn't include that in the price. My mom will be gifting me those and they'll be something small and edible. They're mainly to look pretty on the tables haha. I got the favour boxes way before I even started thinking about bags. They really didn't cost much but I'm of the philosophy that there is nothing more expensive than that which you buy and don't use. Our bags will definitely be the big favours though . Are there Superstores in Ontario? Superstore is like a big supermarket and they have really good prices regularly, but they also have a wholesale division. They sell things in bulk. I'm not sure if you need a business to shop there, my mom has one so I went with her, but you might be able to shop there anyways. To be honest, if you can't shop there you might not be missing much. The medications I didn't feel like they were a whole lot cheaper, and they didn't really come in bulk (like 30 packs or anything like that). You can probably find the same prices online, but since I was there I bought the gum, the tylenol and the anti acid. I'm not sure what Tylenol sells at these days at a regular store, but I got a bottle of 200 for $12 or around there. For the gum they worked out to be the same as Dollarama, 77c each pack, but rather than getting the smaller packs (the ones you snap out of the package) I was able to get those bigger packs (the ones that come in little sticks of gum).

Hard Rock Punta Cana 2015/2016 Brides
TinkerSofi replied to Cablelove11's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
We considered Beach Palace, which is pretty similar to HR, but it was too expensive, even for traveling in August they were quoting us $1800 plus taxes those are some great quotes! Especially including taxes. I have to say Punta Cana has the best beaches, never been to Jamaica, but between Mexico and DR. That's something to consider too . I was at Majestic Colonial a few years back (right next to and sister resort to Elegance) and it was a pretty nice resort.- 30 replies
