  1. @@kcole123 The lashes look great! Just with the smaller filling you can see such a big difference . They have so many cute bathing suits at La Vie en Rose. I was there this weekend and bought a coverup. I really like the one you got. I find that when going bathing suit shopping it's best to go with someone else. It makes it more fun when things look horrible and sometimes I find that when we're on our own we're too overcritical and start seeing all the flaws and make them 100% worse in our minds. I'm really not a big fan of the light in changing rooms either, it brings out all the imperfections. I love how the centrepieces look with the seashells . That was a really good idea! I've had my ring dipped once since I got it and I agree with you, what a difference!! It looks like you just got engaged haha. I've had my wedding band for a while and when I got my e-ring dipped, I compared them. It was so weird because even though I have the wedding band put away and never use it, it looks more yellow haha. It's probably just the normal oxidation process. Anyway, I'll send both of them to be dipped before the wedding. @@calgarybride2015 I don't think you need to dip the platinum ones. White gold tends to turn yellow over time so that's why they dip them again. I'm guessing just a cleaning and polishing would have the same result for yours
  2. Survival Kit Tags I made the tags for the survival kits. I'll just be trying them with a ribbon and adding a business card sized card. I'm so proud because I made these myself, usually my mom has been helping me out haha. I used photoshop and I bought the Mexico Owl clipart from Etsy. I wanted to go for a fun/cute feel for the stationery in the bags. I think a monster has been born, there's so many cute vectors and design things!! I need to design more now hahah. I've always been a bit obsessed with paper products and stationery to be honest but this is just too much fun! While searching for things I came across this gem http://www.freepik.com/They have tons of free vectors, backgrounds, wedding invitations and stationery packages. I really wish I had come across this earlier, I would have totally chosen one of their invites rather than going through the trouble of making them myself. Anyway, it's great!
  3. It's true, when we first came to Canada we literally didn't have anything. We lived in a furnished apartment for the first 3 months and when we moved we realized we had gotten so many things in just 3 months! It was crazy. I thought that was a great idea for people who already have most things
  4. We only have a bed, a TV and a few items that I've been getting in the last year like a food processor, some plates and things like that. We still need most things though
  5. Another update I forgot about yesterday because I was so tired. We started our registry . Originally we weren't going to but then everyone started asking us what we wanted. We told them that we didn't want any gifts but they insisted. We were torn between asking for money and opening a registry. However, then we thought, when you give money, sometimes you don't have a lot but you don't want to look bad by giving too little. With a gift you might not spend a lot but still look good . We also need everything from wooden spoons to a vacuum cleaner, so it will come in handy for us anyway. It was fun! going around and scanning things. I think we will end up buying the most expensive items ourselves, but the good thing is that we get 10% off on anything we don't get for our wedding and we have a year to buy those things. We're still telling people we don't expect gifts but we made a list of things we want to buy for our house. That reminds me when I sent a picture of my dress to my MOH in Argentina, the first thing she said was "it gives you a mermaid butt!" hahaha
  6. me too! haha. I didn't choose a mermaid dress but only because I seemed to be the only one who loved them and neither my mom or my MOH thought they were really "me" haha. However, I am totally an ocean girl too so I'm obsessed with mermaids too
  7. I'm sorry to hear about your first MOH but I'm glad you found someone to step in her place. I don't think there's anything wrong with having two of them. I am! They're both coming to Mexico, but either way, each one has different jobs which are just as important and it would be the same in your case. Maybe talk with the new MOH and ask her what she's comfortable with. Maybe she doesn't want to do a speech. Or she might want to be involved in everything as if she had been there since the beginning. Either way I think it would be better and less awkward if you are both aware of each other's expectations
  8. I have an iPhone 5s and this is what it looks like when it's inside and closed. Sorry the picture is kinda crappy but the only way of doing this was borrowing my dad's phone With my iPhone the camera lines up well with the clear side on the other side but I'm not sure how it might work with anything bigger :S It's about 6.5in from the bottom to the top (when closed) and almost 5in wide. The clear part is 4X3 and it starts 1 in 3/4 from the bottom TA Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. The waterproof pouches finally came in. They took about a month and I was getting a bit worried they would never make it. My review is a bit mixed. The bad: these things take A LOT of effort to open. With that said, water will not be getting into these babies. Smartphones work through them so people can use their phone as an underwater camera or at least that's what I think so far. I need to try one out (another one of my silly experiments) and make sure they're 100% waterproof before I can tell people to put their smartphones in there and go in the water. They do have 2 super strong zipper closures and two snap buttons on top of that so I don't foresee any problems unless you close them incorrectly. I guess my mixed review comes from the fact that I thought they'd be easier to open for people to put money and stuff in there, so that they could open and close them a few times. However, they take so much effort that I would just put my phone in there and take it out at night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I've also used iskysoft video converter. I'm not sure if you can edit right there, but at least you can convert it to a format that windows movie maker will recognize
  11. [emoji20] sorry that's all I've used before Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I use iMovie. If you have windows I think there's a program called windows movie maker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. there's stairs for us to walk down to get to the aisle. I've seen so many videos of girls struggling with their dress when coming down the stairs lol. I picture myself falling flat on my face down the stairs hahah. That would be so embarrassing, but a wedding to remember for sure hahah
  14. I sent invites to absolutely everyone I invited, even if they told me they weren't coming. My fiance didn't agree with this and I think you'll get a different opinion from everyone. It just felt right to send everyone an invite. It's kind of playing it safe so one one gets offended. You'd be surprised, some people say no and then they get offended that you didn't send them one . Very frustrating. I would at least send them to people who have booked and those who haven't said anything yet. Some are waiting for the invite before booking .
  15. I love the hair flower and your shoes. The earrings are very pretty too , they'll look great! I think all weddings bring on family drama at some point, especially when you start getting pretty close. Our families here in Canada are very small so the chances are less but the bigger the family the worse it is. I have a really big family in Argentina and wow, there's always a different drama going on for every family get together. People that don't talk to each other, people who hate each other's guts. You didn't invite so and so and they get angry. You name it, they have it. It's totally normal
  16. Chitchen Itza is far!! haha, it's in a different state, not in Quintana Roo so it's a very long trip. It was worth it, but I don't know if I'd do it again while staying in Cancun, let alone in Playa. Something we did in Cancun, we rented out some seados in Marina del Rey and they took us out snorkelling. I'm not sure if they have enough seados for a whole wedding but you could try and see if there's anything like that. It was only a couple of hours and it was so much fun! The snorkelling was gorgeous too because it was in the middle of the ocean pretty much.
  17. Same here, I have two MOH's because they're both really important, and my man of honor (my brother) . There's no rules, just what's best for you
  18. I wouldn't worry about reviews, every new hotel has some and there's always the trolls going around hating on everything. They should just stay home because apparently no one does things like them. The reviews saying there were so many bugs always kill me . If it's 10 min from the airport the cab ride won't be too expensive. Also, if you and your guests want to go clubbing during the week, most hotels' entertainment team arrange a bus for everyone to go down to different clubs every day of the week. Then you just need a cab to come back .
  19. I think the Tulum ruins would be awesome. I've only been to Chitchen Itza (i'm probably spelling that wrong lol) and it was beautiful. Coba is also pretty close. We've been to Xel-Ha twice and love it there. It's sort of like "choose your own adventure" and tons of fun and many things to do. I've been running the idea of a catamaran by my friends but a lot of them get sea sick so I don't think it will be a good idea for us. We also had a tour with Aventure tours. We did their extreme something (can't quite remember the name of the tour itself) and that was great fun too. It's more structured than Xel-Ha because they take you through different activities, you go snorkeling with the turtles, then you go into a cenote, do some zip lining and rapel. They also provide lunch for you. They're on trip advisor, just search for Adventure Tours in riviera maya . The only downside of this one vs. Xel-Ha is that couples with small kids might not enjoy it much, whereas Xel-Ha is good for all ages. Good luck!
  20. Pinterest creates so many false expectations hahah. I really dislike the "picture tutorials" because I feel like they don't give you enough details on the little tricks to make things go from "kindergarten art project" to "voila! I actually made this" hahah. It was the same with the invites, I had so many mock invites. Some didn't come out the right size, I tried different types of paper and it didn't look good, etc. I have one friend and she's so amazing at anything she makes! She's very creative and actually knows how to execute the ideas. My mom is really good too. I guess some people just have that gift. I'm mediocre I would say Me neither, which is why I end up having to do a lot of trial and error
  21. thanks! I'm getting my makeup done at the resort because even though I like doing my make up I think it would be nice to get it professionally done for once. I want to do a trial though to see how it would look and know exactly what I want. I might go with sephora. I already have tons of makeup and with a gift card at sephora I can buy other things like moisturizer and stuff like that .
  22. How did you arrange your make up at MAC? Did you walk in or did you book an appointment? How much does it cost?
