  1. I don't know. I left it up to Juan but he probably didn't tell them. We're telling people the first week of May is our cut off but I don't know if he actually told them haha. I'll ask him tonight when I talk to him again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Haha yeah some people are just frustrating! I really don't think it's only for DW, I'm sure people with local weddings have to deal with some shenanigans like this too. I'm glad this is really the only drama going on. I really can't complain otherwise Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. @@calgarybride2015 has a very good point. The time when we got the one favor for the two of us, the favor was actually the seating chart . It had our names on it and it said what table we needed to sit at.
  3. I know! You'd think the drama is coming from the girls but my friends have been amazing throughout the process, and even our mutual friends. It could be age, this guy is 30 going on 20 and she's 20 hahah. I really think (and like to think) that they are completely oblivious as to how much planning and coordination a wedding takes. On kind of a related note, I need your guys' opinion. Our final payment is due on June 14 and we have a family who last June said they would come but would wait to book and haven't mentioned anything since. We sent them a message on Sunday asking them if they were still thinking of coming and letting them know that we got that deal on packages where they can still book at the same price we had been quoted originally. They haven't replied yet, so I was wondering if it would be too pushy if I give them a call at the end of the week and ask? of course if they haven't replied by then. I mean maybe they're still thinking about it? I don't know. i don't want to be on their face but I need to finish planning! (the planner needs to plan! haha)
  4. We had that idea originally but then slashed it because we wanted to dance more haha. I still think it's a lot of fun! especially if you want to break up the dancing with games and different activities . As a kid I was never a big fan of the piñata so I won't miss it that much lol. I was always the small kid who would get pushed around and stepped on when trying to get to the candy . My memories aren't the greatest when it comes to piñatas hahah. However, as adults this is so much fun!! it makes everyone feel like a kid again
  5. They look soo good!!! You would think you bought them like that! I'm glad you were able to find a use for all the extra bags
  6. ok that would make total sense why your kids can choose on the spot and we can't. I'll send out the choices to the parents next month then before our deadline for finalizing things.
  7. I love finding those gems of heels that are just magical. They look great and are so comfortable. The unicorns of heels hahah.
  8. I'd be fine getting one for Juan and I if I was a guest. I don't know if everyone shares the same view but I'd think it would be kind of a waste for both of us to get one. I've been to a wedding where the favour was a wine stopper and we got one as a couple. I thought that was fine
  9. That's a good question and I wish I could answer from my own experience but I haven't been to the resort. From what I hear they do have some shows at night and they also have the Zky Bar open until 1am, I believe they have a DJ there. It's probably not the most crazy, off the hook party you'll see, because it's a family resort. However, to be honest with you, out of all the hotels I've been to I can't say their shows were amazing. We still found things to do to keep us entertained and I can't say we were bored. Even when it rained the whole week we managed to have fun. I think the biggest thing to consider is that you will have a bunch of your friends staying with you, so hey, if the nightlife is boring I'm sure you guys can stir up some fun! Another thing to keep in mind, at least when it comes to the hotel club, the fun really depends on the crowd. I've been to one hotel twice. The first time the club there was totally lame, no one danced, it was terribly boring. The second time, the crowd was so much fun, everyone was dancing and just having a great time. to tell you the truth, we had more fun at the hotel club than we did at the Cancun clubs! So yes, it's not the Oasis Cancun but I'm sure at least our group will be ok. We certainly don't have money to go out every night so we will have to settle for the hotel nightlife and trust that we will all create a fun atmosphere . Perhaps the people who were writing that review traveled as a couple and if the nightlife is boring, yeah you don't have much to do unless you go outside of the resort. But you being with so many people there I wouldn't be too worried . I hope that helps a little.
  10. that's great to know! I totally want the flan in there but i don't think our menu has it. Maybe we can swap something By the way, our WC told me the kids' menu choices for the reception need to be made before we travel, bummer. I wonder if it's because we're at the sky deck and we can't have pick and choose menus. Where's your reception?
  11. I agree with you, we are in this mess because we accommodated him in the first place. Juan was pretty direct that the plans are done and she should have said something before if she wanted to come. I don't think she'll say yes, but this is just placing totally unnecessary stress on Juan and I. If she does say yes then we're in this whole mess again with one person without a roommate and I'm out of ideas honestly. Plus, he'll make us look bad with two people. I really don't want to make some guests feel like they are less important than others and that's why I don't want to change plans again, because that's how it would look. Juan is basically done with his friends too. I feel really bad for him .
  12. I think you could use a little bit of hot glue to secure the tops. Maybe try one first to make sure the hot glue doesn't melt the cork or anything. It should be ok though. I wouldn't even go all the way around the corks with the glue, just two tiny drops will probably do and then squeeze the cork in there as much as you can so the sand doesn't slip through. I would put your names on the messages because I think it makes it more personalized and memorable , especially because it's a favour that the get to keep, rather than it being an edible one. I have some little bottles, they were bigger than the ones you have, they came 5 tied together and I used as little flower vases but anyway, around the neck of the bottle they had baker's twine and it looked really nice so I think yours will look nice too!
  13. @ @@veryvalentine thanks guys! I still love the champagne anyway so I'm keeping both, using some of my tax money haha. I know it's a total overkill, but they're seriously gorgeous and I can't let go haha. I'll probably wear one for the Mexico wedding and the other pair for the Argentina reception . Or I'll wear the champagne ones with the legal ceremony dress. I'll definitely put them to good use! @@Smellsey I'm honestly so picky too! I can't handle very high heels for very long so they have to be the right height. I also find peep toes very painful and they end up cutting the circulation off my big toe, ouch. Too bad, because I think they look amazing! I'm sure you'll find the shoes. Go into the Nina shoes website, they have so many gorgeous shoes!! I was just checking it out yesterday and I decided that it was good that I didn't find the website before getting my shoes because I wouldn't have known which ones to picked! The drama lowdown: Ok so I am sorry to post this here and burden you with my drama but I am so fed up. We've had a pretty drama-free planning process and I'm glad for that but I am fed up and done with Juan's friends. I believe I told you guys that only one of his friends is now interested in coming. We had given him a plus one but about two months ago he said his girlfriend couldn't come so that meant he had no one to stay with because the rest of Juan's friends all backed out for one reason or another. For a month Juan and I have been trying our very best to get him a roommate. The rates are way too high for single occupancy and we didn't blame this guy for being unable to pay that much! We went back and forth with some people who were undecided, some who wanted to stay only a few days rather than the whole week, nothing worked out. My brother this week said that his girlfriend is interested in coming. She just finished school and didn't want to book anything before because she wasn't sure she'd be able to get the time off her new job. Now she can get the time off so we orchestrated everything last night to leave my brother and his girlfriend in one room and Juan's friend and another guy who's coming alone in another room. Basically this was a huge inconvenience for us, but hey, if Juan's friend wanted to come we gladly did it. Well, today Juan talks with him and now he says that his GF might be coming!! WTF?!! I am beyond pissed off right now. I seriously do not understand how people are so inconsiderate. We did this favour for him, he knew we were trying to get him someone to room up with and now he comes with this BS?? We tried to convince him for about a month for his GF to come but he said 100% she's not coming and now he changes plans last minute. Juan told him that she can't come now because we planned everything on her saying no. Apparently they'll let us know tonight. I'm really hoping she says no because otherwise they are making Juan and I look awful with other people that we had to ask if they'd be willing to switch rooms, etc. Just embarrassing. Juan said he was pretty direct with him and told him that the plans are done and she plain out can't come, she had said no so we moved on and made other plans. Honestly we should have told this guy that if he couldn't get someone to book with him he was on his own and too bad. As always, you give people a hand and they walk all over you. I really need to learn how to be a b** sometimes. Ok rant over, although I'm not any less angry.
  14. I really like the first choice! I also think it will be the easiest to assemble . The other ones are cute too though. I agree with Calgarybride, with the DR sand it would be so fitting
  15. Congrats Kristy. You looked great! I can't wait to see more pictures and read more about your week.
  16. I found a page at the nina site where the colors are really close to the real ones, so this is what the blue ones look like: http://ninashoes.com/vinnie-new-dusty-blue-luster-satin--18202?c=714
  17. I'll stop by David's bridal this weekend and pick up one so I have it for the alterations appointment thank you! Pink it is!! I'm so excited to wear them!!
  18. I love shoes but it's hard for me to find comfy ones so when I do I hang on to them! Haha. I do love #1 but I'd probably have to take them off after the ceremony and photos haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. if they're anything like the pasties I have they have glue on the inside so they just stick on. It does feel like they'll fall off but they don't! It's crazy and if you take care of them they last forever! At least mine came with a little plastic sheet so I could stick them back on there when they're not being used, and just making sure you don't use lotion before you put them on. I've had them since 2 summers ago and they're still going strong. Since I pretty much have no natural cleavage I wear them quite a bit when I go out with shirts that are backless or have a plunge neckline. I got the pasties from La Senza but I haven't tried their silicone bra so I can't speak about the strength of the glue. It's also totally painless when you take them off. It's like magic!
  20. well, I did my taxes the other day and since I had some money left over I decided to keep both the champagne and the pink ones haha but I'm wearing the pink ones for the wedding . I have so many dresses that can go with either that both will get used . #2 are nice as well and since they are lower they will be more comfortable. I also think they'll get more use than #3. Don't order more than one though because you won't be able to decide, like me hahah, and then end up keeping both.
  21. I am totally biased, so I vote for the ones I got, or #1 . I think #1 are really fun, but my faves are still the Nina ones from Nordstrom haha (of course I'd say that, right?) You will honestly not regret the Nordstrom ones. By the way, something I didn't mention, I did find the color was brighter in person than on the website, so plan for the blue to be less pale
  22. yeah I think the inserts work great when you have a nice cleavage already but they just looked very strange on me, at least I felt weird and they weren't comfortable. It was almost like I had two pillows on there haha. Small chested problems I guess I'll check out the different options. The biggest thing is that it has to be something backless or close to it because the dress goes down at the back and I don't want to worry about the strap showing. @@Wafflesmom oh god, I've had my pasties for like a year now haha, those things don't quit. Only now I started noticing that the very edges don't stick on as much as they used to but they still work fine. I really don't know what happened that one night but we sure had a good laugh with my girlfriends about it haha. It's good to know that the glue is just as strong on the bras as it is on the pasties. I don't know why I felt like it wouldn't be because they were bigger and heavier.
  23. Thanks girls. After a lot of back and forth. I decided to keep the pink ones for the wedding . Now it's just a matter of calling Norstrom tomorrow for them to send me a 5 1/5 before they run out and I'll send the size 6 back. I have the stick on petals but never the whole bra because I was afraid that the glue wouldn't be strong enough. Only once I've had the issue where they moved. I had like a body suit on and all of a sudden I find one by my belly button and the other one somewhere on my ribs lol. I have no idea why as they were totally fine after and never had that issue again (maybe I put lotion on before wearing them, I don't remember). Lol @@Wafflesmom they do look like that! haha. It freaks me out when I wear the petals because I always forget I have them and when I take my clothes off it looks totally freaky haha.Where are the ones you have from @@Wafflesmom? I'll definitely give that a try because at least if I flash someone it will be with chicken cutlets lol. I really dislike the foam inserts they just looked weird all night, at least for me. I got the guy's ties today from Etsy! I bought Juan the one with the stripes. It was the only left so I ordered the solid pink ones for the groomsmen. I'll post more when they arrive! I measured the heels! They're around 3.5 (from the very Base of the heel to the floor) but very comfortable. They feel like maybe 3. The strap at the front is wide and comfortable so your toes don't slide around too much. The biggest thing is getting the ribbon tight enough to hold the back part of the shoe securely. If you have really skinny ankles it might be more of a problem but otherwise they're ok Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
