4 Days Til My Wedding!
TinkerSofi commented on andreaberretta's blog entry in Step by Step - Azul Fives Hotel 2015
I'm the same way about being in front of cameras hahah. All of a sudden I don't know what to do or say. I'm hoping that during the wedding you have so many other things going on in your head that you kind of forget that there is even a camera there. Best of luck on your wedding week and please post a review and tons of pictures . I love looking at wedding pictures!- 5 comments

this is exactly what I was thinking haha. I know they won't move the beds for you, so why would they charge you? my brother and his gf booked a deluxe room and requested a king or queen bed. We'll see what happens! No one else in our group has though so I might tell them to just join the beds too! I've been to hotels that had 2 queens and that was nice. Even if you have kids it's cool because the kids are basically swimming in the queen bed haha. so exciting! I can't wait to hear how things went!

that's pretty awesome that they can buy their dresses where they choose as long as it's red. It can totally be done when using a common color that you can actually find in places haha. I chose a pretty rare color so that didn't work

@@IzzyDeee lucky you. I guess I have a small head haha so finding hats is pretty hard, they're all big enough to fit at least one finger in between my head and the hat lol. I want a nice floppy hat but it's hard to find one that doesn't make me look like a 5 year old wearing her mom's hat lol. I think I might have to go with a baseball cap or a fedora, which I have two of .

I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry for your loss. I really don't have any advice that is any better from what these girls have suggested. I agree that I would wait off a couple of months but I think you should send an invite to him. I think it would make him feel excluded if you didn't. After losing his spouse I can only imagine the loneliness and isolation that must be feeling, especially after the dust settles and people go back home and continue on with their lives. It would be nice for him to feel included in family events and feel like there's people that have his back. I like the idea of adding a handwritten letter. I think it would better express your feelings and then the invite doesn't come off as being cold and inconsiderate.

You looked gorgeous! I love the dress and how the hair and makeup came all together . I'm happy everything went relatively smoothly. I have to say I laughed with some of the special moments haha. There's always something of that at any wedding but that's what makes it so memorable haha. At least my parents always talk about the little mishaps the day of the wedding haha. -
I don't know if it's too obvious that it's a little mermaid song. When I played it for Juan I didn't tell him what it was and he said "well, it's a disney song, but I don't know which one" haha. I'm not too crazy about that flute towards the beginning but whatever. thanks guys! I'm always pretty self conscious of sharing my music because I think my taste can be kinda lame sometimes

I'm so sad to hear about the burn, but to be honest I didn't even see the band aid without you actually mentioning it! It actually didn't look that bad I just finished reading your review. I started last night but it was too late haha. It seems like you guys had a great time! Now that you mention that the extra hour wasn't a big deal it makes me think maybe I shouldn't stress out about that and just keep it at 4hrs and then go to the hotel club rather than paying an extra hour. I love it because Juan is very much the same, he fights for all these things he doesn't want but then when he sees everything put together he admits that I was right and it looked good or it was good that we got that haha. I love how you're so laid back about the songs! I'm a total control freak hahah so I'm basically giving the coordinator a detailed sheet of instructions of who is walking to what lol. What a bridezilla, i know . I love the song of 1000 years, it's so romantic . I think all the song choices were great. Congratulations again! I'll try not to stress over the little stuff but like you said, easier said that done

We're putting a few items for the kids in the bags of couples that have kids. We bought some sand toys. Dollar Tree had some nice things, and then Superstore had some sand moulds that were 6 for $2. I also got them a beach ball each and a water gun (i might regret that later choice at some point haha)

OMG. I could just keep on adding to this playlist haha I need to stop because we need to add Juan's songs as well and then start cutting. I managed to get done the ceremony one today. Juan basically gave me total freedom on this one because it's really so that there's some background stuff going on. This is what the hotel gave us: I changed a few, mainly some were too long and others were definitely not us, so this is what it looks like now. I still have to split it into songs that we will play before the ceremony and those that will be played after but this is the whole list: General Songs for Ceremony: Amazed - Lonestar Entra a mi vida - Sinbandera And I love her - Congo (it’s a reggae cover of the Beatles’ song) Arioso - Bach Better together - Jack Johnson Can’t take my eyes off you - Frankie Valli Me estoy enamorando - Alejandro Fernandez Canon in D - Pachelbel Dangerously in love 2 - Beyonce Come away with me - Norah Jones Ave Maria - Bach Can’t help falling in love with you – Elvis Besame – Ricardo Montaner Serenade No. 13 in G Andante – Mozart Dale alegria a mi corazon – Mercedes Sosa Is this love – Bob Marley My Girl – The temptations One love – Bob Marley Somewhere over the rainbow – Israel Kamakawiwo’ole What a wonderful world – Louis Armstrong It’s a beautiful day – Michael Buble And then here are the rest of the important songs. Juan still has to pick what song he's going to dance with his mom. Processional: Cello Suite No. 1- Bach Entrance of the bride: Tour of the Kingdom (from the little mermaid sountrack haha, ok you can make fun of me now but I have always loved this song ) First Dance: Valio la Pena (salsa version) - Marc Anthony Father Daughter song: Tale as old as time (instrumental). - From the beauty and the beast This is a long story. As a kid I always used to ask my dad to dance this song with me, and he always would, so I thought it would be very fitting . Cake Cutting: Sueños - Diego Torres Garter Toss: Fever - Michael Buble (This is what I'm thinking but we'll see what Juan says) Bouquet Toss: Another one bites the dust - Queen Last Song: At last - Etta James (Juan picked the first dance, so I picked the last one ) So there it is! I won't get into the party songs because I have way too many haha. If you guys are interested I can post a word document with a list after I'm done editing it . As you can tell I'm a sucker for old songs . I just think some of the newer songs are so overplayed on the radio that I have included some for the party, but otherwise I wanted to stick to songs that people perhaps haven't heard in a while. An update on some of the decor: I printed out the signs I had made for the reception. My printer run out of ink at the end of the first one (of course), but I wanted to see what they looked like. I'm happy to say the chalkboard effect on the background translated extremely nice on paper. I was pleasantly surprised, so the first signs I had posted (black with white writing) are a go! I got some frameless picture frames from Ikea today, since the sign I had made had a pretty intricate frame already, and they worked perfectly. They were under $4 and I got 3 of them for signalling the guestbook, photobooth and the fans. I also got a couple white plant vases from Ikea. They have like a lace finishing at the top and that's where I'll be placing the fans on the ceremony . My mom has the small version of these, and I was going to put the pens for the guestbook on there so I thought they go well together. Update on attire: I went into David's Bridal today and got my chicken cutlets! LOL . I also got the flower petals for the shoes. I haven't tried either yet because the music basically consumed my weekend haha. I also found a garter on Etsy that I liked. I prefer the simple ones and this one is only $13 and it's simple enough. I'll probably get it soon. After that I'm pretty much set for the attire . You have plenty of time to get into it! I feel a lot better now that it's done because it was nagging at me haha. I do suggest starting a list somewhere of random songs you think of sometimes. It made my life a little easier. However, I have to say this was A LOT more fun than I thought it would be. It was certainly time consuming though.

I used weddingwire but definitely not many opportunities for customizing pictures. I just wanted something quick and easy and that would allow me to keep track of RSVPs on there to group the tables later. My mom has a business and she has a free website through weebly.com. It's free to create a simple website, which is definitely more than you will need. You might have to pay for the domain name though, I'm not sure how that works. Anyways, she loves it and it's pretty easy to catch on. It might take you a few hours of playing around until you get the hang of it but I'm sure you'll be happy with it .

wow you looked gorgeous! Congratulations Edit: I just saw the pictures from the gropro. I loved your guestbook, so cute When we were planning our wedding at Gran Caribe I loved the gazebo, it looks great when everything is set up! Your pictures give me a good idea for how things will be set up on the tables and how many people could I realistically fit in each table. Did you have 9 or 10 per table?

This thread has been dead for the last week and I apologize. By the time I get home from longer hours at work then go to the gym there's basically no time for wedding planning. I knocked one of the things out of my list today: The dreaded playlist!! It actually wasn't as bad as I thought and had fun doing it. So much fun that I put 6 hours worth of music into it haha, and that's without counting what is on Juan's list. Needless to say we're going to have to cut it by half . Now I'm starting to wonder whether we might want to add another hour to the reception. I know there's not much of a point, since we can go downstairs from our wedding to the club there, but it's not the same as having a private party and it's our wedding! It turns out we have less people attending than we planned at first so that means we have some extra cash, so maybe . I think I know Juan's answer to this so I have some convincing to do, and some numbers haha. Now i'm stressing about whether I have too much spanish music, whether people will have fun, or they'll find my music boring. Most of our guests are Latin but I also don't want the ones that aren't to feel left out. I tried to include a variety, and I tried to choose Spanish songs with good beats, so even though you don't know what they're saying they still sound fun. I'll definitely ask my Canadian MOH what she thinks, she's really good at this. Next I have to work on the ceremony music. That should be a lot easier. The hotel sent me a list of the playlist they have and I like a lot of the songs on there but others not so much. For example, there are some country songs and everyone knows we don't really listen to country. The good thing is that I can just swap those few songs with some that are more up our alley and voila! I have a great ceremony list. I'll post a list of the songs once the reception playlist is cut down and the ceremony list is done . Also, for more good news: The guest booking drama has been resolved. Everyone is booked and good to go. Also, a friend is thinking she might come now. She wasn't sure she'd be able to afford it, but they might now so that's great . Turns out her and her bf had planned another trip to Mexico in a month or so. However, he broke his foot a few weeks ago and they had to cancel that trip so now they're considering coming to our wedding . I do feel bad for the guy, but I think they'll have a lot of fun at the wedding too, especially since some of their friends are already attending. My brother is coming home this week and now that all the guestlist stuff has settled down they can go get their groomsmen outfits . Juan said they'd get together with the guys in the next few weeks and go get that sorted out.
