i know its been discussed buf im still unsure about tips how much do you generally tip hour wc, how about the florist (marvin) and the dj and decorators (zuniga). also Ems85 how did you convince them to upgrade ypi to the presidential suite? I'm not good at things like that but would love to try since we have our son and it would be so nice not to have to share a room! thanks!! -

Hey Everyone, I have been on here for a little while but I just wanted to say that I had Alejandra as my wedding coordinator, she was amazing and now has transferred me over to my onsite wc, Karen, and so far she is super helpful as well! I leave in two days and my wedding is in one week so Ill come back and let everyone know how it went! If anyone has any questions they need answered let me know and I will try to help! -
Stephanie, I'm so sorry I just saw your post! We are from Canada so I know if you are from the States its a bit different. We paid $4038 for two of us in an Ocean view room (no kids allowed in ocean front). That is an all inclusive price, flight, transfers, room, food drinks ect. I hope that helps! It was a bit more money in the end than some of the other resorts we were looking at but with the $1500 resort credits it made it worth it. Not to mention how gorgeous their weddings are! We are leaving in two days and wedding is one week today! I'm so excited! if you have any other questions let me know!

I have a question for anyone who has taken a baby to Moon Palace.... what are the cribs like? nice and comfy or kinda old? Just curious if we should be hauling our own down there or trust that theirs will be ok? Thanks -

Adehaarte, I'm having my favours mailed to the resort instead of mailing them to me and then dragging them down there. The resort will give you the proper shipping address and then they will hold them for you until you get there, just give them a heads up of whats coming and when you expect it to arrive. I was told they don't charge for this either which is nice! But maybe double check with your coordinator because again that may be different for everyone! -

Ooops I just saw your second post with your wedding date. I am going to ask again about this! Im getting married in late January which I have been told is prime time but I would imagine that April would be pretty busy as well so I am going to ask again and see if I can get that changed, If I do I may have to reconsider a few things! Jinele Fracasso, Have you seen any photos of the Caribbean Terrace set up for a wedding? I have only seen very few and find it a bit difficult to choose decorations and such because of the lack of photos! How many people are you having? -

I have chosen Caribbean Terrace, I will have to ask again if we can extend our reception but they told me because it is close to guest rooms that 10pm is the latest. Like I said it may be due to the time of year. -

Hayley, MrsTobeD has said that she is having her reception on the grand terrace because it allows later receptions. When I asked my coordinator she said there is no place I can have it and extend past 10 unless its indoors. I think maybe this may have to do with time of the year we are having our weddings? May be best to ask the resort just to make sure! Britt -

Julie - Yes, I'm getting married in the chapel and got to see it. I'm also doing an indoor reception and saw the two ballrooms I want. Cocktail is still up in the air. Everyone is so nice. Those of you that have menus, etc... Can you email them to me please? [email protected] I'm editing/negotiating the contract now and want to close any loopholes through which they can unexpectedly charge me for things. PS - The first draft they sent me sais they can change the Date, time and location of the wedding anytime. ?!!!! YIKES!! Was this on everyone's contract? Hugs girls Hey sorry it's been so long! Only 2 of our guests didn't book through the same travel agent. I was going to do what Shannon said and not mention anything and hope I don't pay extra for their dinner! To be honest (I know I sound stupid/crazy) I've never seen my contract, my TA has all of that. They did tell me who I could use without being charged the outside vendor fee and I have all my emails in a file of what they have said the cost would be for the other vendors I've chosen. They seem like they wont go back on their word if you have it in writing so my whole wedding file is coming with me in case they try to change things up when we go to pay! For the menus, did you want the one for over 50 ppl or the one for 50 and under? Britt -

Oh Juliebeth, also i think she sent me the menus for larger groups, if I find it would you want me to send you a copy? -

From what I have been told is that the outside vendor fee is different for each vendor. We have two photographers coming and for each we had to get a guest pass, same for the florist (because he is coming in to set up the centerpieces, free if you are just getting bouquets and grab them from him in the lobby). When it came to the DJ that got crazy! Recently they changed that and now I think it is 800$ to bring in a DJ, apparently that is because of the electricity? Also I will be having around 60 ppl at my cocktail hour and reception, I asked about how on the menu it says "max 50 persons" she said that I still don't have to pay for anyone over 50 ppl (as long as they booked through the same travel agent) it is just a different menu with more options bc you have more ppl. Hopefully that helps a bit! -

I'll send an email to Alejandra tomorrow and book that then! It's really the only thing I was worried about! Anyone know about the beach locations if one is better then the other? Maybe I can secure that too! -

Does anyone have any recommendations on locations that would be suitable for around 100 people? I'm leaning towards terraces for all the events, so there'd be a nice view of the beach, but there are so many terraces between Nizuc, Sunrise and Moon Grand! Any suggestions/feedback or pictures would be helpful! When you get stressed out over them not responding just try to remember when you are there it will be you they are spending all of their time on. Sometimes my WC is super fast but the other week she was slow, so I just sent her a "hey did you get my last email" email and when she replied she explained how busy she was and that she was sorry. If you have questions so that you can come up with a realistic budget, I found it easiest to first ask ppl on here so I had a clue and then verified with the WC when she had a chance. They were usually pretty close! I definitely don't have all my questions answered but if you have anything I may be able to help you with feel free to ask! -

Sooo excited I also love your photos of the Bravest Race I'm trying to see if I can fit that in while I'm there!

I'm on the fence on the whole ipod/DJ I want the party atmosphere and don't want to be worried about the ipod messing up the flow of things but you are right to spend over a grand for a DJ for 2 hours seems a little much. Ohh that is so exciting! Are you making a special trip down to get your engagement shots done? Quote: Originally Posted by NJBride2014 Love this centerpiece very beautiful! As you can tell I'm not much of a DIY type for this. I love that other brides do, I'm just not very crafty, it would look like 10 year olds put it together if I did it lol . Ill definitely keep you posted on how my choice to cut out the dj works! You have tons of time to figure out what you want and see if that's the best route for you! I know they have increased their outside vendor fee for DJs for 2014 so they are getting pretty expensive!

Im going with Marvin for bouquets and centerpieces. His prices seem great to me! Because I am choosing to have tall centerpieces with tall glass vases Marvin did ask that I get permission from the resort to allow one of their guys to deliver the flowers and vases safely and pick up the vases later. They are only charging me the day pass for one person for this so I thought that was fair and still way cheaper than resort flowers! And no worries or coordinating guests to pick them up which will be nice!
