Hello Nanfa, For everything you are asking for there is the Grand Palladium at Riviera Maya. It is one of the hotels in the area that has more options in general for everything: swimming pools, lots of bar and restaurants. For example it has 4 buffet restaurants as well as 9 a la carte. I was there on vacation and I decided to get married there. Every bride is very happy with the results. We are making a private reception as well, and a private beach party. But you have loads of options. I do not know how cost from America as I am coming from Spain but I would take a look there ¡Un saludo! Carlota

Hello!! I am the Spanish girl again! lol From the threat of the Spanish words. I was taking a look at new threats and then I have just seen the subject for the videographer. I would recommend you Indigo Wedding http://indigowedding.com/ Matias, the videographer, it is very professional in his mails and we found very good costs!! Other videographer were too expensive for us. But of course, first on looking on the budget I was looking for quality. I really like his job. If you write him, tell him that the Spanish bride Carlota (Grand Palladium wedding in August) has suggest you. You will see it is better. Well of course, if you like his job!!

Hello Carebear82, When I first got engaged we have decided october 2013, the same month as you. Then after a month we decided to change. My FI and I were once watching the TV and there was a programme about foreign people living in Riviera Maya. All they were saying that the end of September and the whole October is a nightmare because it is the worst period for hurricanes and that rains a lot. THen we got scared and started to look a lot of information about good months for marrying. I also took the advantage to ask the locals. I asked to photographers (in that period I had not decided yet which would be my photographer so I asked for having more opinions), and other outside vendors. I was able as well to read a lot of opinions and reviews and I was also able to contact a former Mexican bride. EVERYBODY told me the same. I am not saying there are no brides getting married in October but I am not making a DW in the Caribbean to have rain everyday... Then I decided to ask directly to my wedding coordinator. She told me that if we had the possibility to change the month, then it would be better. So we finally decided to go for the beggining of August. One thing is that it is going to rain 15 or 30 minutes like is typical at the Caribbean with that heavy rains, but not raining the most of the time. For another hand, I have a friend of mine that got married in November here in Spain and he went to Riviera Maya for the honeymoon. He told me that the degrees were 20ºC but that they were able to swim only in the sea because the water from the pools were really cold. If your FI is returning March-April 2014, why you do not go for June, July or August? At the end we, the women, are the ones that organizes everything. You could start organize with your planner and comment everything with him at his return Hope to be helpful!!

I am getting married at Grand Palladium Riviera Maya. This is sth like 100 km away from the Cancun airport. Everybody that goes there speaks very well and brides are happy. I have recently read a very positive review from a bride about her wedding planner. It has several options for receptions and depending on what you want for the wedding day, you could find a good offer.

Hello Kwells!! I am staying at the same resort. My wedding is 6th August and guests are leaving the next day. We are going to rent a car and during 3 days make a tour and staying at Mayaland hotels at Chichen Itza and Uxma, visiting as well other mayan ruins. Then we will return to the same resort. I love so much that resort that I do not want to change to another one. I did not want to have fear and other resort I do not like it or that I was going to be make comparasions on my mind. I stayed at Grand Palladium Resort Riviera Maya at 2009 and I am counting the days to return since that moment!! Hope to be helpful!

Hi Claire, Thanks for your nice words! Thanks a million for the information about the mosquitos repelents. I really need a strong one because last time I bought one specialized for the Caribbean and even I used all the time, mosquitos bited me a lot... I was taking a look about Jungle Formula. I have seen several, are you going for the natural or the maximum? Maximus says it is for places with risk of malaria. OK this is not at the Riviera Maya but I was asking myself if maybe in this way would be better. What do you think? The Avon product did you use it at Riviera Maya as well? If we have the same "problem" with mosquitos, then I think I can buy the Avon one as well. I have no problems if they only deliver to UK. My elder sister lives in London so she could take it for me. Thanks about the idea of the paracetamol for the OOT bags!! I have made other DIY projects, as the welcome cards. I have ordered thourgh Vistaprint. Here it goes: and the back with the most important information about the wedding day as well as other important appoinments. It is good to have some time to make this things as I have been quite busy the last two months.

And here it is the DIY project that I made. I used a A5 format for the sheets. I bought ink for my printer. I selected photos from internet, other mines which I made when I was in Riviera Maya. I also bought a bow with the same colour of the invitations. I made two holes and use the bows to put together the sheets so people could read it as a "book/notebook". This has 16 sheets in total. Here I am uploading some of the pages. This is the first page ("Viaje" means travel). I write all the information about the characteristic of the travel, which is included at the cost of the travel (in that moment we did not have yet the specific cost) such as flight, shuttle bus, standard rooms, number of nights, all inclusive... This is other page, we had several guests that loves sports and our resort includes a lot of these. So I considered important to introduce this information as well. "Instalaciones deportivas" means "Sportive facilities". Other page that contains info about swimming pools and entertainment (disco, activities, shows at the theatres, etc) I also wrote info about the Spa because it is considered one of the 3 bests of the whole Caribbean and all the information about the buffets, bars and restaurants. I also added information about the long trousers for men at a la carte restaurants. We wanted that people was not confused about what was included at the travel cost and what not. For this reason, one of the pages is dedicated to this "external services not included at the cost" is but means the title. We wanted as well to have the touch of introducing information about what to visit in the Riviera Maya. We introduced information about Playa del Carmen, Xcaret, Xel-ha, the mayan ruins, etc... (For example, this pic from Chichen is mine, beautiful place, isn't it?) This is another page with interesting details like: the time difference, voltage (in Europe we use another so we suggest to bring transformers, distances to the principal interesting places and suggestions like buy a high solar cream protection and a spray for Caribbean mosquitos that you can find at pharmacies). And this below it is the back cover or back page. I toke this with my camera in one visit to a mayan ruins.
