Hello! It was me. Last year when I booked my wedding at Grand Palladium, Vanessa, my planner, wrote me all the possible options for the receptions. One was to make a buffet but private at La Laguna or Grand Azul. She told me it was for 40 people or more and some posts ago I wrote here the menus she attached at her email. For what it seems, not only things have changed around the wedding packages but also with the type of receptions. I alredy have her mail and she wrote 40 people and now it is 70. How many guests have alredy booked to your wedding?

Hello brides!!! Heather, the cocktails at Las Rocas Bar is private. It will take place from 9.30 pm to 0.00. So for this reason it will be closed to hotel guests. Anyone knows from/to what time takes the White Party there? Chrestena, in fact I was asking myself why you have the luck that the minister speaked for a long time and saying such beautiful words. I am going to copy your idea! One thing that I had read for other brides were that for them it was a pity that the ceremony was so short and minister was very fast. I am indeed going to tell the same to Vanessa as you did. Thanks so much for sharing this!!! Really thanks!! Other question, I would like to ask you is about the Spa and your hair and time for dressing. There will be a cart at Zentropia Spa to pick me up and bring me to the room at 2.45pm. Vanessa explained me that other guests will have a cart at 3.30pm and mine with my dad and DH at 3.45pm. Do you think is enough time (one hour) for preparing and photographer/videographer? How you did with this? I do not want to stress myself because I do not have enough time but I do not want to wait so much at the room because I know this will make I am going to be more nervous, lol I really would appreciate how you did with the hours from Zentropia to the room, etc. ¡Muchas gracias!!

Hi Norma! I understand you perfectly about the hours. To give you an idea, here in Spain everything is later: hours for lunch (from 2 to 4pm), dinner (at 10pm), and of course the parties and weddings! For example a wedding ceremony here usually starts at 7pm, then appetizers at 8pm and the supper starts at 10pm. Not before. The dances usually start at 12.30 am and until 4 am as minimum. If you pay extra hours also until 5, 6 or 7 am. So imagine "how difficult" for me was at the start changing my mind to adapt the wedding to the American hours... hahahhaha Here it is a sentence that says: Allá donde fueres, haz lo que vieres (that means for the rest of brides here, sth like "whatever place you go, do what you see")
-
Hahhaha Jengullage!! I have just read your last sentence and I was laughing a lot, lol, yes my FI the same, poor one!! Somedays I am super estress others not, lol. For example now we are having some problems with the Italian burocracy for the documents required for the legal wedding. It toke me a world to understand the differences between the burocracy of Spain (where we live), Italy (where my fiance is from) and Mexico. I alredy got my papers but Italy takes a lot for giving original copies. Everything is most difficult because all this things are being done them Thomas' dad. We cannot fly to Italy each time!! lol Vanessa was trying to relax me... Hopefully we will have Thomas papers here in two weeks. I am crossing fingers!! And yes! We are still booking things so more money to spend!! But yes girls take a cameraman, i think it worths the money!! Good night!

Thanks Norma !! Are you sure Gran Azul is available until 2am? I am anyway be until 9pm at La Laguna and then move to Las Rocas Bar for the party there. But Vanessa explained me that whatever location I choose, it is only available until 12pm because it is a general norm of the resort to respect the hotel guests that could want to sleep. This is what she told me but maybe things have changed.... When I booked Las Rocas Bar for the end of the evening, Vanessa wrote me "and remember, you all could only stay there until 12pm as the resort norm says". ¡Un saludo!

Anyone stayed at an All-Inclusive Resort but had their wedding off-site?
Carlota1981 replied to LukyJ's topic in Newbies!!
Hello! I am having a wedding at my resort but my videographer had actually filmed a wedding outside. They were an Italian couple and got married at Capilla Nuestra Señora del Carmen (Chapper Our Lady del Carmen, will be the translation). Maybe you could contact him or try to speak directly with the council for a wedding at this chapel. Here you can watch the video: http://indigowedding.com/index.php/category/wedding-hd-video-samples/page/2/ CATHOLIC WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY -LUCIA & CLAUDIO – PLAYA DEL CARMEN -
Welcome to the forum Newmrskassner!!! You will see how helpful is this!! I am addicted!! lol Jengullage, you are welcome. I told to my friend to send some pics of his room at Royal Suites so I will post them here when he sends me. You can write to the mail of Antonio Parrado (he is not only Spanish but also he is from my city), that you can find at Palladium Addict I think. He is the manager of White Sand, Riviera and Royal Suites. Explain him you are returning to the GP and you are getting married there. Maybe this could help. I did not meet him personally when I was there (I met Banessa Burque, the manager of the 2 other sections, and I discovered as well she is from a town 20 km from mine) but my elder sister did (she was there last year) and she told me he is adorable. Good luck! And ask me whatever you need!! I cant belive how near is now your wedding! You are the next!!! Norma, thanks for the pics. I am getting at beach gazebo and I love to see thousands of photos there!! For another hand I am not able to see if photos are at La Laguna or Gran Azul. It is too dark for me, I can see the difference just because there is the swimming pool/ trees behind. Maybe other brides could able to say sth. Heather, at the beggining we booked El Gran Azul because it was nearer from the gazebo beach and the Sports Bar (where the appetizers and cocktails will be served). But I finally changed my mind for two reasons. One because Vanessa told me that inside are all equal but in her opinion La Laguna is more beautiful. The second reason was because I did read some opinions of other brides that got married there and they finally chose La Laguna as well because they saw it is more apart from the "possible noise" of the hotel guests. We have finally changed place and we will do the dinner at La Laguna. I have also seen more photos from outside when it is dark and it seemed more beautiful having the swimming pool with lights. About your ceremony at 2pm I see your worries about this as you have mentioned it in some ocassion. Some ideas: 1) Have you considered the option to change the day? Maybe one/two days before or later it is available the ceremony at 4pm. 2) Or have you considered to change location for your ceremony? Just for giving you ideas about this. As you are asking us our opinion I will give you mine, maybe 4 hours (you are getting married at 2pm between the ceremony and pics with your guests imagine you use one hour) it is too much. Your guests are flying to Riviera Maya for your wedding so if you leave them alone so many time... I do not know... 3)if you prefer not to pay for a private cocktail or cocktail+appetizers, why do not just do it "public"? After your photos you could go to take some cocktails to an open bar and then at 7pm the supper. You could make pics with all the guests, etc at the beach and other locations, then your guests go to a bar and you continue making photos with your alredy husband and then later you could reach them at that bar. In this way, they are not going to be "alone" so many hours. I think is great you take time to be alone with your husband or you stay with your guests all the time, I think you just have to find the middle point between one thing and the other.

What are you walking down the Aisle to?
Carlota1981 replied to reevesbride's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
These are my options for the ceremony: For the aisle: Over the rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo For signing the documents (we are making a legal wedding): Is this love by Bob Marley For the end: I do by Colbie Caillat. I love this song and I think is perfect for the end of the ceremony. Groom and bride' s kiss and then the little walking and toasts with champagne with family and friends. -

Hi Chrestena, Thank you, thank you and thank you for posting your video. It is so lovely, so beautiful so many things that I really can tell you I do not know what else I can describe it. It is beautiful. And the quality of the video is very good! I have showed it to Thomas and he said the same: it is beautiful and as me is so happy we have booked this services as well. We decided to hire a videographer four months ago as we were thinking that we wanted to have a video of our wedding being in such a lovely place and with such an awesome landscape. I did not know that there was one at the resort, so I started to look for one (also for 2 hours, just as you: start, then the whole ceremony and the after). I was really surprised about the high costs and I was taking a look of so many videographers and the quality of the videos comparing quality, etc that toke me days to decide!! To give you all an idea the lowest I had found, until I found my current one, was asking me 900 usd for 2 hours.... We certanly did not want to spend that money... Then I found an Argentinan guy based at Playa del Carmen. We have booked for 2 hours for him and an assistant (I decided I wanted an assistant as well for having all the possible shots) for 400 usd. Without the assistant it is 300 usd. So as some brides are writing here the possibility to have one cameraman I am going to give you the website for taking a look. The qualities of his videos are very good! He is going to give us two videos. One longer of about 20 minutes with the starts, the ceremony and the after and other short of about 5min. Here is the website in case you want to take a look http://indigowedding.com/ And here comes the incredible coincidence!!! The camera told me we have to choose 2-3 songs for the videos. For the aisle I am going with the Over the Rainbow song, which I love, and we want it as well for the video and the other one for the final!! We have still to decide the 3rd song. I have been less busy at work this week and I am on youtube a lot of hours hearing songs. hahahaha Chrestena, once more thanks so much for uploading your video. There are more videos at Youtube about Palladium weddings, but not so detailed as yours.! Thanks for sharing!! My made of honour, elder sister and one of my witness have alredy watched it and they were saying that is so emotional!!
-
Hi Chrestena!! I could not agree more!!! I am so happy to have found this website and have the opportunity to talk with you all. It is so emotional to me to see how little by little some all brides here are getting married!! I do not know what I would have been without this forum!! I would have not enjoyed and have so many emotions I am having. I have to say Chrestena that when I read your 1st review, I also have some tears in my eyes... I am a very emotional person, too much in my opinion! And this is worrying me because I do not know how I am going to make to do not drop some tears on my wedding day with so many emotions!! How you all did it? This is sth i am little worried about!! Wishing to watch your Youtube video!! ¡Besos desde España!

Hello Jengullage, What I could tell you is that last year the Kantenah and Royal Suites section were refurbished. They are starting to make the same works at the Colonial side during this year. A friend of mine was for honeymoon at the Royal Suites last November where you are going so I was having a coffee with him right now and I asked him. He told me that they had a room with double bed at the highest floor. The terrace had a half of roof and other at open air with a huge jacuzzi. But they did not have a cathedral roof at the room. He told me this is only available at the "huts" of the Royal Section but not at the buildings. I repeat this is the information he has just told me.... Anyway, I would suggest to write to the PR (for the welcome stuff at your room as well as the honeymoon one) and enter at palladium adict website.

Hello Natdan, Congratulations for your wedding in Italy. I live in Italy in 2008 and there it was I met my Italian future husband. I am from Spain and we are living here now from four years ago but we have both decided to go to Riviera Maya!! I really love Italy so I am sure you are going to love the place. If you have any questions, maybe I could help you. Ask for doubts or Italian phrases ; ) So about your information, well my experience is that we are not going to make a home reception just because we wanted to have only our real wedding at Mexico and not other celebrations in Spain and Italy. I have read some threat at this website of a lot of brides having problems because they told both dates at the same time at the invitation so many guests decided to not travel to the DW and go only for the AHR. My advice is anyway to not write the home reception info at your invitation. You are sending invitations to your wedding that will be in Italy. Informing about AHR I think it gives minor importance to your DW... but this is only my opinion. Hope to be helpful!

Here is the Youtube video I was talking before. It is in English so good for you all, hahaha. This is a report about Destination weddings and it is recorded at Grand Palladium http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kXP10w5Nm8 You can see Vanessa at minute 02.23. One of my guests found this at November when he was taking a look at some wedding at GP and when I saw her I sent it to Vanessa and she confirmed she is, hahaha she was laughing at the fact she was at Youtube as she has forgotten that she had been recording.
