Every review here is super very welcome, this helps to the future girls to take note for things that in other way maybe we would have thought about them. I was considering the option to have a DJ but we are alredy having a lot of extras and we prefer to do not pay a DJ if the sound with the Ipod is good. We are alredy paying a lot!! lol Thomas and I were making counts before with the wine. We have found a supermarket in Cancun that delivers the bottles to the hotel. The manager sent me the list of all the bottles they have with the costs. The cost is just the half from the bottles that Grand Palladium offers. We are going to be 20 people, we want tp take bottles only for the dinner (nor the appetizers before the supper neither the cocktails after the dinner) we are planning to take 8 bottles of red wine (Spanish wine), 8 of white (France wine) and 8 of champagne (Moet & Chandon). This has a cost of 1025 USD... I think it is a lot of money!! Any advices? What are you going to do with the wine? Which drinks are you going to give to your guests for the dinner? To tell you a little story about "our" wine... We have a lot of culture in Spain around the wine and we always have wines of quality in important days (events, weddings, etc) I asked Vanessa about the name and denomination of origin (this is the exact area/state/region for the country which is the wine) and she told me the name... It is a Spanish wine... and a baaaaad one (ok it is included, what we could expect? lol)... This is the reason we are planning to take wines from outside. Taking the same bottles at the resort cost 2000 usd.... Thanks all in advance!

One more thing (sorry I forgot again), how was the quality of sound of the music while the ceremony? Vanessa has told me that during the ceremony the DJ of the resort plays 3 songs that you have choosen previously and give it to him at your ipod. How was your experience with this? Hello Heather, Yes, there are different prices for differents menus, ones of 50, 55 and 60 USD. Have you thought in other cheaper possibility? Vanessa, my planner, told me in September that is possible to make only the cocktails and appetizers. This has a cost of 14 usd per person (for a minimum of 25 people) and you have cocktails, drinks and food during 2 hours. You have some selections , 12 cold appetizers, 12 hot and 6 veggetarians. You could choose a maximum of 6 hot appetizers. You can choose any scenary: Sports Bar, Heminway Bar, Las Rocas, La Laguna, El Gran Azul, etc If 2 hours is not enough time for you, you may ask your planner for making a third or fourth hour. If not you always have the option to make the reception in a la carte restaurant (not all are available). This has a 2hour duration and you can also combine it later with cocktails in another scenary. ¡Un saludo!

Hello Heather, For me is cheaper to get marry at Riviera Maya than doing it in Spain. For giving you an example, in 2011 my elder sister got married in my city (northwest coast of Spain) and had 210 guests. Just only the appetizers, cocktails and dinner had a cost of 320 usd for person... So this is 67000 USD.... just for eating... I do not know exactly how much we are going to spend, but more or less is like 7000 usd for flowers, food, drinks, etc (without counting the travel, wedding dress and shoes). Apart from the money we always wanted to have a wedding in the beach in Riviera Maya and a small wedding. I would never go with a big wedding as my sister did. But here in Spain is the normal amount of guests for a wedding. Marrying in Mexico is also good because you really have those ones that you love and not people you just see once or twice a year. If you are planning to have a wedding outside the resort I am sure you could find cheaper costs. I have seen a video at the website of my cameraman and there is an Italian couple getting married at a beautiful chappel in Playa del Carmen. Surely you could find a local hotel or restaurant with cheaper costs (really mexican standars). I hope to help you with my answer!!

Hello Lauren, You are welcome! It is good to know that it is useful for you. As you have seen it has nothing special and an bride can organize the different ings at the document as you want. Yes for Vanessa words I could understand sherally needed it. The menu is one that I have choosen at the beggining but later we decided to change. And we decided this change in November, so from that month she did not put down the change at my file.... Ok everybody could forget things... so this makes more important to take the time to write ALL for the WC. Un saludo!

BTW, it is not finished. But Vanessa scared me a little bit when last week she wrote me thinking that I have choosen another menu... completely different menu. So this was reason I decided to send it to her before. I will send her the final document some days before we leave Spain and of course I will bring a copy with me for our meeting and comment with her all the details there. Maybride, thanks a million for your detailed review. This helps to understand more and more. I am completely agree with you. Grace must be organized with all the things. I trust in the people but I understand that not everybody is as well organized as I am, or you are or were when you worked as a wedding organizer. If I were one, I would have never thought in having the file of a bride almost empty, just because later it is worst for making your job. I have to say, that Caribbeans are very quite. They live the life in general very relaxed so knowing this from their character it is also another reason that made me to create a document with all the information. It is not that they are fool and I am inteligent but I just assume that is better to assure the things. And I see it was a good idea because in just 4 sheets I put down all the details. It is also organizing for me. I have a notebook where i have written all the things with the vendors and Vanessa, photos, etc. I just want to be sure to do not forget anything. And by another hand I have to recognize that since I decided to celebrate my wedding there, I am making lots of questions to Vanessa. I know I have to bring everything to her because I asked her. Every doubt about number of waiters, hours, places, vendors and thousands of other things are subjetcs at my mails with Vanessa since last August. So girls, I advice you to ask her your wc everything and write a document to her. At least, when can be sure that we have done everything we could. Hello Karenk, I do not know if you still enter at this website but I forgot to ask you two doubts from your review. If you have the time to answer, I will be really thankful. One is you said that the menu at your reception was not the one you had ordered. What did happen? They completely changed the menu, some of the courses, or the way to cook one or more courses? The other one is about the blood test, I am quite nervous about this because I am very frightened of inyections... how long they took for making it? Vanessa told me they took two test tubes, is this correct? Please any other thing you could tell me about this I will apreciate it a lot. I am really scary about this part of the wedding.... Hola chicas! This morning I have received a mail from Vanessa, She gives me a huge thanks for sending her the Word document with all the information. She tells me that she really apreciates that because everything is clearer and more organized. So brides: go for the doc!! lol Good suggestion about the photos of things you want to be in a particular way, I am going to add that as well. Chrestena, time really flyes!! Your wedding is so near!!! 12 days for arriving Mexico!! So exciting!!! I imagine you will write at least one more time here, but just in case, wish you the best of the lucks and the best organizing wedding!! Yes, we are similar then... soooo organized with everything, imagine with a wedding!! lol I was thinking that of course it is impossible that everything is going to be perfect. Almost impossible, at least. During the last four years I have went to several weddings: my sister's, my cousins', my friends... and in all of the weddings being in different places, sth was wrong: the music from the DJ, the colour of the flowers, etc... So I think that now I am still in time to start thinking that is going to happen to me as well!! But anyway, one thing I have clear: i am going to try to repeat the things as much as I can to Vanessa. By the other hand, I am really sorry about your experience. I think it is terrible that you had that problems. I would like to know also who was your wedding organizer, please could you tell us? I also would like to know if your lack of communication it was because you wanted to say sth else to her or forgot? I mean, do you have your meeting with her, right? Did you try to look for her during the mornings but not even you could reach her? or try to leave a message? I just want to understand until what poing the wedding organizers are difficult to talk with them. For example, Vanessa told me that everything I wanted to tell her I have to try to do it the day of our meeting because later it is going to be impossible that we could have another meeting as she is going to be with other couples. Please, I know you have written is a long story, but what happened to your dress? Did you have not the opportunity to give your dress at your meeting? Did you book the flowers with the hotel (included at your package) or with an outside vendor? Maybride I am very thankful about your review, this makes me think that it is very important to talk to my wedding organizer giving her the Word document with all the details about the wedding.
