  1. Hi there! I am also a February 2014 bride!! Our wedding date is the 8th. I'm getting the Pearl package too which I think is a great value, I'm sure we'll be very happy with this option. I sent our invitations out the last week of July and we've been so excited to check the mail every day as we've also been receiving many of our RSVP's back. I think we can all agree that Lomas is very pricey! I'm bringing a few things from home for decor and renting a few things from Lomas. Items I'm bringing with me: Paper Lanterns - paperlanternstore.com Throw lights for the paper lanterns - Michaels Fishing wire for hanging the lanterns - Michaels Christmas lights to wrap around the poles of plaza zavaz - Target Miscellanous signage - Etsy (yes, I have an obsession too!) Items I'm renting from Lomas: Sheers for ceremony gazebo setup Centerpieces Flowers for ceremony/ reception (including my bouquet and FI's boutonniere). They are transferring all of our flowers from the ceremony over to the reception, which is surprising! But, nice that you don't have to pay extra Little sandboxes for place card holders A birdcage for cards For the chairs and tables setup for the reception, I think I'm just using their standard white tableclothes and white bows, which is included in the package. However, I'm still going back and forth with this on whether I want to rent them or just buy them and bring with me.
  2. Wow there are a lot of brides waking down the isle to Christina Perri 'A Thousand Years' including myself! Lol Its such a beautiful song and couldn't be more perfect for the moment. I'm planning on walking down the isle to the piano cover by The Paino Guys. Although, I love the Boyce Avenue cover too!!
  3. This is so creative! I love that you are serving pizza as a late night snack. That is just awesome.
  4. Hi! If you look back through the thread this question came up before. I believe you can bring your own sand but I don't think you can take it out of Mexico to bring home.
  5. Congrats Megan, Tammy and Bubblez! That is so awesome you were all able to meet Megan, your pictures look so cute! I can't wait to see everyone's pictures and hear all about your weddings!!
  6. Lil Pumpkin - that is too funny we got the same design! Yours look beautiful. I was also thinking about getting my 'welcome bag' supplies from her too - I love your chap stick and tissues. Everything coordinates so great together I absolutely love it!!
  7. I wouldn't worry much about the weather especially in Cancun. They have great weather the majority of the year. Typically with tropical destinations the weather forecast says that there are chances of storms every day - that's pretty normal. If anything, there may be showers lasting for 15-20 minutes on any given day and then it clears up and it's beautiful out!
  8. I wanted Doremixx as well but based off what my WC said, the hotel no longer permits outside vendors. Soo we are using DJ All Music as well and I've heard lots of great things about him through this thread. Don't worry
  9. Hi ladies! I finally got our passport invitations in and wanted to share with everyone. These were made by a vendor I found on Etsy called Allurements by Rebecca. She is absolutely amazing. I plan on sending out invitations in mid July with an RSVP date of October 1st (giving guests about 2 and a half months to respond). Hope you all like them! Let me know if you would like any information on the vendor. Jenny - special thanks to you for sharing your invitations and giving me some ideas!
  10. Welcome back and congrats Jenny! So happy everything went perfectly for you!
  11. Hi! We are considering going to the Cenotes in Playa del Carmen to do the TTD photoshoot. It's a little daring for me but my travel agent recommended going there, and stressed how amazing it is! She said the Cenotes are about 15 minutes away from the resort. If we go, then we have to arrange transportation. Upon returning to Azul, we'll probably walk down the beach a ways where the 'nicer' beach is, and do some more shoots there. My goal is to try and capture either some sunset or sunrise photos - they are so beautiful I think.
  12. Kathryn - I LOVE your paper banners. The only reason I wanted to have the paper lanterns was for extra light, but it doesn't seem like that's an issue. The banners are so festive and different! April - I have been to Mexico twice and have a ton of family and friends who have traveled there many times and did not have any issues. I have never heard of getting a shot or anything like that.. Obviously don't drink the tap water and you'll be fine!
  13. Hi! I'm also a February 2014 bride yay!! Do you have a date set? Ours is the 8th. I also loved Elizabeth Medena but opted to bring our photographer from home, who is a close friend of ours. I also heard from other brides on this thread that Caribe Photo is great and very reasonable. Good luck!
  14. Congrats Kathryn! I can't wait to hear all about it and see more pictures!
  15. Hi ladies! I wanted to share my dress with you all. After searching and searching, I finally found the one and said yes to the dress! HUGE relief. Now, I just need to order it in my size and make some minor alterations! I think the train may be a bit too long for me so I'm thinking about shortening it up a bit. Hope you all like it Officially feeling like a bride-to-be!
