  1. msuarez, If you search back through this forum, there is a review by tkuzma on Zocalo, AND she posted pictures! We decided to have our cocktail hour at Zocalo based off of her review. Plus, I thought it would be nice to switch up the atmosphere as we are having our reception at Plaza Zavaz. Hope this helps Oh, and we are leaving for the Azul Sensatori in 2 weeks!! Ahh can't believe my turn is coming up! I remember when I first stumbled upon BDW... Which seems like an eternity ago lol. I am so thankful for all the advice and help I've received throughout the planning process. I'm beyond ecstatic, and will absolutely share pictures with you ladies once we return
  2. Hi acw271011, We are planning to go to the Mojito Lounge after our wedding reception. I believe it's open until 2am, and they have live music too! Our group loves to dance, drink and party so I was also concerned about keeping everyone occupied. But, how can you not have a good time in Mexico with your closest friends and family?! I'm sure we will also do a night out in either Cancun or Playa del Carmen to change up the scenery
  3. Jennypert, I am also bringing beverage napkins in our wedding colors for the cocktail party! They had such a nice, personalized touch. I was so excited how they turned out too. For my cocktail centerpieces, here are the pictures I sent to Lynda. I told her I wanted arrangements similar to this size, that I liked the blue vases and I wanted coral and pink color flowers. Lynda charged me for the BC-08 item on Lomas' site, but I customized them the way I wanted everything to look. Hope this helps!! Msuarez, I agree that this is the way to go! You can get things for much less than the price on Lomas' website.
  4. Murmel, Thanks for the feedback! These tables of 9 are mainly our friends, and I figure everyone will be dancing most of the time anyways June7BeachBride, Our perks are a little different than yours it sounds like, but for the number of rooms that our guests booked (which for us it was 20 rooms), we received a discount off our room. We received a complimentary event through our travel agency though. However, we are having our reception at Plaza Zavaz by the pool and I think it's just so beautiful! All the pictures I've seen look really, really pretty. We are having our cocktail party at Zocalo Alfresco which I think is a great location too. For our cocktail party I'm decorating a little bit. I purchased small flower arrangements through Lomas for the cocktail tables. It was $85 for 8 arrangements. I'm bringing my iPod, docking station and sashes to tie bows around the cocktail tables. We have a welcome/ rehearsal dinner the Friday before our wedding, and I am not decorating for that. I like the idea of ice breakers! I was going to bring glass vases with me to make my own floating candle centerpieces, but I was so worried about the glass breaking. I know some brides brought them with no issues, and others purchased vases at a Walmart or store in Cancun. I decided to just purchase flower arrangements and votive candles through Lomas. However, I am bringing my own chair sashes and a few other decorations for the reception such as paper lanterns, string lights and some other miscellaneous decor. We were initially looking at the donkey too lol! For the cocktail hour actually... But, I read on the banquet kit menu that the donkey is not allowed at the Azul Sensatori resort. This could have changed though. No clue about the alcohol but that is a great idea! I love the thought of little bottles of patron at the tables for shots.. So fun!! Good luck!!
  5. Looks like a great time!! Thanks for sharing I was also wondering, and this question is for all past/ future brides... As I'm in the process of doing the table assignments for the reception, I know that the resort sets up round tables of 8... Did anyone have tables of 9? And if so, was there enough room at the table? Two of our tables have 8 guests each so that worked out perfectly, but the other two tables have 9 guests each.
  6. AllieH, We have DJ All Music booked as well! Did they bring any props with them? I think that would make it soo much fun!! I wasn't sure if I had to request this or not though.
  7. February 8th 2014 at Azul Sensatori in Riviera Maya, Mexico with 40 guests!
  8. Hi BDW Brides! I'm selling my brand new Love by Enzoani Caspia shoes. These are absolutely adorable!! They are satin with a pretty bow and rhinestones in the center of the bow. The color is ivory and they are size 7.5 with a 3 1/2" heel. These are in impeccable condition and come with the original box. Originally paid $250 and I'm asking $100.00 not including shipping. Only shipping to the U.S. Please let me know if you have any questions!!
  9. Would anyone be interested in a beautiful pair of ivory satin heels by Enzoani? Size 7 1/2 brand new and never worn. PM me for details if interested. I wanted to offer to you lovely ladies first before posting on BDW.
  10. We hired the DJ and the MC... It's just easier, keeps the party going plus I wanted everyone to enjoy themselves and not have to worry about doing intros and various announcements although I guess it's not really a huge deal! We have 40 people confirmed as well!
  11. Question for all you ladies... Has anyone used or is anyone planning on using the Gobos (the light projected onto the dance floor with your initials)? Just wanted some feedback whether or not it's worth it.
  12. That looks really nice actually! Especially if you have lots of paper lanterns to hang up. Thanks again for the pictures Stacy.
  13. yycStacy, Congratulations! So glad to hear that your backup plan worked out perfectly. I can't wait to see pictures I nearly had a heart attack seeing plaza zavaz in shambles but it's reassuring to know that other options work out great too. Thanks for keeping us all posted.
  14. LilPumpkin - WOW!! That is a TON of food! Although it looks amazing, I think we're expecting between 40-50 guests and based off of your review/ comments that is entirely too much food. I really appreciate your feedback and sharing the pictures to give me an idea of what to expect. Now I'm wondering if I should switch to a 2 tier cake lol. I like the 3 tier for look purposes too but its such a shame that it all goes to waste. I mean seriously, our group would probably only need 2 of those desert trays lol! You definitely have options that's for sure!
  15. Beautiful!! I love the combination of your engagement ring and wedding band.
