That's a great time!! They are pretty responsive... probably a few days. If its more than a week, I would recommend calling them. I would suggest buying a calling card so it's not expensive. Let me know if you need the phone number. Also, don't forget to check your spam box! When they responded to me, it went to my spam box and I didn't even think about looking there till after I called. haha

Hello fellow brides, I just wanted to share with you the way I've asked my bridesmaid. I took inspiration from the fabulous pinterest box that you guys have probably all seen. While searching for those boxes at AC Moore, I stumbled upon these boxes that looked like mini luggages and I fell in love. I'm all about videos so I also made a mini video that showed pics of all the bridesmaid and I wrote how much they all meant to me. In the video, I asked each one separately to be part of the wedding. I got the inspiration from this video: http://blog.theknot.com/2013/01/08/my-will-you-be-my-bridesmaid-video-proposal/ In the end of the video, I told them they could open the box. Instead of saying "be my maid" I painted there names inside. Included in the box: Boarding pass with their name and wedding date/location Mini passport: I had a head shot of the bridesmaid and put details of wedding i.e. their role, duties, date, location and what they would possibly wear Grey Goose Nip Ring that lights up & cute bridal team button- to use for bachelorette Wedding coaster trivia You can see the Boarding pass-- On the back of the boarding pass put a checklist with the items in the box Picture of the box-- see doesn't it look like a mini luggage? haha I also cut made luggage-like tags and wrote in name with press on letters and glued on a charm of their first name. Overall, it was a huge labor of love but I would not have done it any different

Hi Sommer, Congratulations and welcome to the forum!! I'm getting married in May 10, 2014. When are you thinking about getting married? My TA is Stacy Evos, from A Girl's Gotta Go. I found her on weddingwire (she has great reviews) and she has been super helpful. Apart from helping with travel arrangements, I know she also can act as a coordinator but I think it's for a fee. Not sure what it is though. I would recommend getting in touch with her to find out more--- her phone number is 617-314-7266, email [email protected]. Hope this helps! Happy Planning, Norma

I'm on 88!! can't wait to reach 150! -
Hi Jencadiz, I understand about things adding up. I think a buffet is a great option. Plus, it can help when people in your party have different tastes. You can taste a little bit of everything In regards to the organization...I'm sure there is a way to make it so it runs smoothly. I don't know how that works since I'm barely in the planning stages. Maybe one of the brides that is closer to the wedding date may help out.

Thanks Karen for clarifying! Yes, the Gran Azul is on the Colonial side. When they showed it to me there were two sections it could be broken down too...one where the jungle is the view and the other has a view of the pool (Colonial side) which I liked better so I would probably do it on that side of the Gran Azul. HeatherLynn83-- I just sent you pics and video of the space. jengullage- Do you want me to send pics and video too?

Amazing job, Lauren!!! I've been looking for a banner image like you have on your RSVP cards. I've spent hours looking for free ones online and trying to learn how to design on free design software that I want to pull my hair out! haha. Would you mind sharing that image with me? My email is [email protected]. I can't wait to see your other DIY's. Happy Planning, Norma

HeatherLynn, I forgot to add, YES!! This is stressful. Don't worry you are not alone. It is normal to get stress but I think it will be less stressful once you pick the packages Quote: Originally Posted by HeatherLynn83 Hi Girls Im getting stressed about choosing menus/packages, options for everything!! I don't want to pay for a cocktail hour in between either. Do you think this is too much time for guests. I know its a resort so they won't be bored but feel bad with so much time in between. Any thoughts on this? Also it seems most people on here have had reception at La Laguana....is it better than Gran Azul? They seem pretty similar. Everyone keeps saying Destination wedddings should be stress free so why am i stressed? haha

Hola Carlota! I have written down that it can be used till 2am-- I think it's because it's not that close to the room (?) but not really sure why that is. The only thing is that we will be charged for the extra hours. I like that option because I really want to do what it called a "torna boda" since I am Mexican, and it's a Mexican tradition. Generally, a "torna boda" is a party that follows the wedding usually the next day but I would like to do it as a "late-night" snack/food then head to the disco. Las Rocas is gorgeous! My FI fell in love and all he keeps reminding me is that we have to do cocktail hour there. haha. It's so cute when the man gets all bridal! Saludos!!

Carlota1981-- You are too funny but I think I am becoming addicted as well I agree, I can't tell either...but I think it may be Gran Azul since its the one near the pool. Heatherlynn83- I did a site visit this past April and i am leaning toward the Gran Azul. As Carlota said they are both similar in size. The difference is the layout--- Gran Azul has two sides that you can set up which is divided by a bar. Whatever section you choose will be blocked off by the public. The bar, I believe (don't quote me though) may be open to public but Grace told me that guests usually stay away when they see it's a wedding reception. The Gran Azul faces the pool. The Gran Azul can be used till 2 am while the La Laguna can be used only till 12 pm only. The Laguna, again is similar size but it faces the Lagoon. There is a bridge right in front the view of the Lagoon which made me think there would be more foot traffic. However, Grace assured that this is not really a problem. My first impression was that Gran Azul was more private. However, it could go both ways...plus it's been a month since I've been back I do have pictures of both sites... I can email to you if you would like.

Hello fellow brides I'm in the final stages with the GP to set my date May 10, 2014! I can't wait. It's been really great reading everyone's reviews about the resort. Chrestena- you looked amazing!! Me and FI watched your video and got goose bumps. At first, I wasn’t thinking about having a videographer but I think you changed my mind. newmrskassner- Welcome!! When in May are you getting married? For those who are getting married in the gazebo, please find a link to a wedding that I stumbled upon on my search for photographer http://deansandersonweddings.com/2013/03/cam-and-kevins-wedding-3/ The photographer mentioned the sun was out in full force at 2 pm. In the pics the guests have fans which I think are a nice touch. I’m not sure from the pics if they had the reception at the Lagoon or the Gran Azul. Maybe one of you brides can figure it out? Happy planning everyone, Norma
