  1. I was hoping that someone would solve the OOT bag mystery for me as well.  So far, the best solution that I've seen is to hand them out at the rehearsal dinner.  I don't know how we will fit the favors, etc. in our 1 carry-on bag and 1 garment bag.  The wedding party can help, but they need room for their stuff as well.

  2. Elarenee89, I'm sorry that you are so stressed.  The person on the phone should be able to answer all of your questions and accept payment.  I think that's it.  Once I passed that point, I have been emailing back and forth very successfully with our wedding coordinator.  She always answers questions quicker than I anticipate. The paperwork that they email you also lays out all of your options.

I agree that they aren't very forthcoming with details, but that could be bc our wedding isn't until April 2014.  I ask specific questions, and I've gotten most of those from other brides on the different cruise forums on the internet.  For example, I read from another bride that you can have a signature drink.  My WC never mentioned that to me, but when I asked her about it, she confirmed that I could and sent me the options.  I told her that I had favors, that I had a caketopper, etc. and she told me that she would set up an extra table for favors and that I should pass the cake decorations to her when I arrive.

I was very overwhelmed and then I remembered that I picked a cruise wedding so that I wouldn't have to plan every little detail.  I wanted to be able to add personal touches but to focus on the important parts.

If I can help, let me know.

  4. Another Breeze bride!

Yes, we should help each other.  Are you booking a makeup artist in Miami?  I'm researching that now.  I'm also curious about the timing and fitting everything (especially pictures) into the alotted time.  I do know that I'm not missing a second of my reception for pictures.

Congrats on Platinum status! :)  Have you been on the Breeze before?

The only problem I have is the space to keep everything 1 year and a half before the wedding. lol I am doing a lot of DIY projects:STDs,Invitations, Programs. I've found the flower girls dress for like $34.99 online and the bridesmaid dress for $84 online. I am also contemplating on a knock off dress to save some serious dough as the Pronovias dress that I fell in love with is $2700. Thanks for the tip regarding shoes tho. I will definitely look in the winter. But where has everyone gone to score deals on the jewelry?

Charming Charlie's!  They have everything that these bridal shops charge triple the money to buy!  They have clearance sales and B1G1Free on clearance.  It's a great accessories store that is divided by color.  They have purses, bracelets, earrings, etc.

  6. @futureMrsWilson, Who is your coordinator?  Sasha has been helpful so far and mine isn't until 2014.

Someone said that they needed pics of ceremony locations.  Give me your email, and I will send what they sent me. Congrats, future Breeze brides!

  7. We are getting married on the Carnical Breeze in the Miami port on 4/6/2014.  I agree with your decision about Carnival.  They have more items included in their wedding packages.  And I didn't want to worry about them skipping the island port for my wedding either!  Choosing the embarkation port just made more sense for our family and friends to attend as well.

  8. Congrats to you, too! I did a search for wedding prices on Carnival and RCCL websites and found pdfs with all prices. I think this cruise wedding is very economical compared to any land wedding besides justice of the peace. My coordinator just contacted me and she has been great so far. Very prompt and informative.

  9. Congrats, Nicole!

We would prefer for people to cruise with us as well, but we understand that some people will have issues taking a week off of work.  I'm glad that RC will let you have a wedding on the beach with guests.  Carnival told me that only the bride and groom could go if I did that in Miami.  We can recreate it at the beaches on the ports in our swimsuits! LOL  cheesy.gif

Why are you having a hard time planning?  I'm reading a great book called Bridal Bargains by Denise and Alan Fields that is helping a lot.  I got it from my local library, but I may buy it because I don't want to give it up.  It doesn't focus on dw, but it provides tips and tricks and sources of vendors for clothing, accessories, flowers, invitations, etc.

  10. Enjoy your 2/2 cruise!

I was undecided about Carnival or Royal Caribbean as well until I read the wedding package prices!  I've been on both cruise lines and I had a better time on Carnival, and I felt that my guests would have more fun with them.

We are probably going to hover between 20 and 40, but that's the part of a destination wedding that's bugging us now- how many people will REALLY show up.  Our guest list has more people, but maybe after we send the save the dates, we will get a more realistic number.

We are getting married on the ship in Miami.  I love the beach as a background, but I don't want to try to look glamorous while dragging my dress through the sand.

I'm not a DIY bride which is why a cruise wedding is perfect.  I will personalize it with our favors, a cake topper, and providing decorations for the cake table and reception table. (I think the brides passes decorations off to the WC the night before or the day of.)   That's about it.

How many are you expecting?  What DIY projects do you have in mind?

  11. Hello,

April 6, 2014 Bride here!  We are getting married on the Carnival Breeze.  Which ship are you on?  I have also just started planning and reading the documents.  These forums and Pinterest have been great resources for me so far.
