  1. I'm so late posting this...today is my 1 year anniversary! But Merrick was really amazing to work with and I found reviews to be really helpful while I was planning my wedding, so I wanted to make sure I post this before another year goes by! Merrick Cousley was the photographer for my wedding in Montego Bay in November 2012. Throughout the booking process, he was very responsive and open to our ideas and suggestions and made us feel confident that we had made a good choice hiring him. The day of the wedding he arrived at the resort right on time to take pictures of the wedding party getting ready. He met with the guys first to take pictures of them and my fiancé called me to say “Don’t worry, Merrick is awesome!†And I have to agree…he was awesome to work with. He was very friendly and immediately made us feel comfortable. He stayed for the entire day to take pictures of the ceremony at a private beach off the resort, the wedding party at the aqueduct ruins, the cocktail hour, dinner and the reception at the resort. Merrick was really professional, but fun and he kept us genuinely smiling and laughing all day. I had sent him a list of pictures I wanted to make sure we got throughout the day and he got every single one, plus he had lots of creative ideas of locations and poses to try. We received our CD from him in February and we love the pictures! There are lots of great ones and we’ve had a hard narrowing down which ones we want to frame, put in albums, etc. Our families and friends were also very impressed with the pictures and had lots of good things to say about them. I definitely recommend Merrick to anyone looking for a wedding photographer!
  2. Glad I could help! In the days leading up to the tour I started to worry that it would end up being a disaster somehow and all my guests would end up hating me for booking it (I admit that was probably a bit extreme, but it seemed like a legitamite concern at the time with all the pre-wedding stress piling up...ha ha!) But the tour turned out great! Hopefully you won't stress as much as I did!
  3. Hi girls! I worked with Tropical Weddings Jamaica to book my wedding ceremony at a private beach in Montego Bay in November 2012. My group stayed at the Iberostar Beach resort and had our wedding reception there, but we decided to go with an offsite ceremony so that we could have a more private location. I was very happy with this decision as the private beach was very pretty and private! Almarie was great to work with throughout the planning process. She was prompt to reply to e-mails and accommodating to any changes I made throughout the planning. Everything was set up exactly as we had arranged on the day of the wedding. Almarie met my bridesmaids and I as we were getting out of the van at the beach, handed us our bouquets and instructed us on where to walk. Everything went perfectly from there. I had provided Almarie with a picture of a bouquet I liked and the bouquet I got was exactly like the picture! I loved my bouquet! We also booked a steel drum band to play during and after the ceremony and they were really good (my husband is a musician so he’s very picky about music and he was happy with them!). I definitely recommend Tropical Weddings Jamaica! We had no complaints!
  4. I wanted to add a more recent review of Jamaica Watersports (the company with the catamaran Freestyle) for anyone considering booking a tour. I booked a private charter with Jamaica Watersports to take my 24 wedding guests on a snorkel/sail tour in November 2012. I was looking for an activity that all my guests could do together and I loved that I was able to book a private tour with Jamaica Watersports. I worked with Denise to book the tour and finalize the details and I found her to be very easy to work with and prompt to reply to my e-mails. Once I arrived in Jamaica, she even called my hotel room to confirm the last minute details with me. Denise arranged for a shuttle bus to pick my group up from the lobby of the resort we stayed at and the morning of the tour, the bus was right on time…actually it was even a bit early! The tour was delivered exactly as I had arranged with Denise and included a stop for snorkeling and a sail. We had to make one change because we couldn’t stop at Margaritaville since it was closed due to damage from the hurricane, but we went for an extended sail to make up for this. I have no complaints and my group had lots of fun on this tour!
