well ive cried bucket loads and jumped up and down clapping when i found my dress oops ha ha ha xxx

OH MY I really thought i was alone in this we told everyone when we got engaged in nov 2011 that we would be going away to get married but wasnt sure when we then told everyone in april last year that we were going to go to jamaica in april 2014 (2 years notice) my mum and dad didnt say a lot my brother didnt seem impresses but my sister in law was delighted all of my fiance's side were over the moon His friends however were very vague on saying if they would be coming my friends however said straight away they would be there how its actually turning out is my fiance's mum step dad and sisters and brother have all booked his friends are booking in the next week or so none of my friends are coming only my mum and dad and that has been a nightmare my brother and sister in law found out they were having another baby instead of just telling me they wouldnt be able to come they said nothing he pulled a face and changed the subject everytime it was mentioned my parents changed the subject everytime it was mentioned. eventually i had a bit of a meltdown to my dad and told him how i felt and was told i was putting him in an awkward position!!! I said for the millionth time if they couldnt make it we understood but they really needed to tell us as carrying on as they had was really upsetting me it is my wedding after all. My dad said he would speak to him and a few days later he called round and said they would not be coming. Im gutted obviously but i do completely understand and things are better now its out in the open although people who arnt coming do tend to avoid talking to you about it!! xxx

nic it all sounds lovely have you been to gplh before? if so do they have a problem with cats Ive read a few things on trip adviser about it and am a bit worried as i am petrified of them not sure if some people are being fussy or if i do really need to psyche up for it sophie i haven't sorted bridesmaid dresses out yet Ive seen 1 i really like just need the girls to come and try on which is proving to be a bit difficult due to us all doing different working days hours etc they dint really seem to be in a rush to let me know when they are free!!! its all so exciting girls xxx

congrats nic xx it will soon be here im in the same situation over siblings and babies we gave everyone 2 years notice. sophie we have upgrades the flights too well we have along with my mum and dad and jasons mum and step dad think it will be quite nice having that time with just our parents im having 2 bridesmaids (both jasons sisters) no maid of honor as this was going to be 1 of my best friends but it doesn't look like they are coming!! we didn't ask his sisters to be bridesmaids until they had booked and i wasn't going to ask my friends until they had booked as we didn't want to put anyone under pressure if they really couldn't make it. Was going to have my little nephew until we found out there was going to be another on the way so now they cant come i now have a baby niece too even more gutted as a little flower girl would have been very sweet! Ive had a little issue with my cousins little girl asking about bridesmaids but i just dint feel comfortable having her if i cant have my own niece and nephew is that mean? and they haven't booked yet so they not definitely coming yet. Jason hasn't decided on his best man yet but hes using the same plan of wait till they book sorry for the long winded post! nic have you booked a photographer? xx

ah we will be there the same time!! we fly out 3rd april for wedding on 12th It took ages from booking in november to getting date confirmed in feb!! its supposed to be a lot quicker but thats where they let me down it finally took a (tearful) rant at our store to finally get mine sorted but it is now and its all good and like I said they dont need to do much more now ha ha it will fly by have you anything else sorted yet? where abouts are u by the way its nice to talk to another uk bride ha xxx

thanks mine are older worked in jamaica few years ago and in florida years ago but not in florida last year no clue as to why. we booked through thompson thampson and first choice are the same company now there was no price difference on the wedding when we booked so it was easyer to have it all done in 1 place to be honest they wernt great but they have done all i needed them to now it no biggy if u need to know anything give me a shout will be more than happy to help massive congratulations by the way we r getting married 12 april 2014 am soooo excited xxxx

ive booked with thompson as they are the only travel agents who go to gplh or they where when I booked. I had quite a long chat/moan/cry at the manager of the store we have booked through ad things seem to be looking up!! they have finally done everything they were supposed to now so we are literally waiting top pay off and be in the hands of gp. If u need any help or advice from the 'uk' side give me a shout ive found it a bit difficult as many brides here are usa or canada xxx

am sure we will i keep reminding myself the only thing that matters is us actually getting married!!! good luck xx

well im starting to enjoy this planning a little now still love the 2nd dress i tried on and am going to order it in a week or so and then start looking into bridesmaid dresses my at home reception is stressing me out a little its sooo expensive good job we doing the main bit away xx

I completely understand how you feel but can also see her point of view if the family cabin holds special memories for you both. I had an issue with my brother over my wedding he isnt coming but instead of telling me just moaned about it every time it was mentioned so much so that I started dreading mentioning it. My advice would be to bite the bullet take a deep breath and tell her how you feel while being understanding that its her special day also tell her you love and support her but feel disapointed that they are so close together. This will hopefully open up an honest conversation. she may not have set her heart on it but have been sounding you out about it good luck xx
