Hey . im not sure on the price for the pool deck Reception. But for the Disco(club) you can rent it 2 hours prior to it opening at 11.  That is what Im doing so that way we can have our first dance. speeches if any.. etc. I dont think they can really stop speeches at dinner  Its basically like them saying you are not allowed to talk. I just dont think you can use a mic in there , thats all.

The prices for the disco I find are the best as it includes the DJ, open bar and the space privately for 2 hours. The price is as follows:

PRIVATE DINNER ON THE BEACH, POOL DECK..

Set up cost $600.00 plus $67/per person includes open bar

Plantation Resturant(private dinner reception)

$1000.00 US for 4 hrs PLUS $10.50 per additional person booked on the package

PRIVATE RENTAL OF THE DISCO

(anywhere from 10 am-1030 pm)

1-20 guests only US $500.00

20-50 guests only US $650.00

50-100 guests only US $1000.00

**INCLUDES OPEN BAR, BARTENDER AND A DJ.**

At 11pm disco is open to the hotel public except on tuesdays

Thats exactly the same with us. I want to have a baby and start our family and if we hadn't got engaged this past december then we would of been having a baby instead. So now we are engaged so wedding first and then Baby after. Otherwise IF we had got engaged i dont know 4 years earlier( been together for 7 now) then we would have had a longer engagement but time is of the essance lol

I havent even started with the OOT bags. I think ill wait until I have more of  idea of whos coming or not. How many ppl do you have confirmed so far?

Same reason we also went with Marcia was the quality. Marcia also negotiated or was most flexible from all of the photo vendors we spoke to (spoke to Brian, Mischa, Stacey Clarke, all of whom I loved their work) ..Marcia pays the vendor fees and she is bringing her 2nd photographer and videographer who are all at her cost as well. Im actually considering Marcia now too. Her prices are pretty good and i feel i might get more then I would from Brian. Although I am absolutly in love with Brians work. With marcia I see that you get the 2 photog like Kdoyle says and shes there basically all day. Its something I will discuss with my FI for sure. And Maybe we can negotiate something with Brian.

I like that Marcia pays the vendor fee instead of reimbursing it or taking it off the price. Thats a Plus. Defin. Brian and Marcia are my top 2. If you need some pics from the photog from the resort let me know and I can email them to you so you can see the quality he has.

Hey. I think its a little bit more but the QUALITY is the difference. My TA sent me pics of a wedding that was recently just there, and the quality of the pics just didnt do it for me. Brian also takes off the vendor fee up to 350 which is what the RIU charges for a vendor fee. So Basically you arnt paying the vendor fee as its off your package. I have the pricelist somewhere for the resort photographer but it was something stupid like 20$ per pic and with Brian the smallest package is like 250 pics and then some all on a cd Where the resort one is you have to pick which ones you like the best and possibly have to leave some behind or spend even more money.

Pictures are a big thing for us so we are going to spend a little more and also do a TTD the next day so thats another 150 pics also.  His quality is amazing and its something we are willing to spend a little bit more on

In the end I cant spend money on pics that I am going to hate

EXCITED!! Revd confirmation today FRm Keisha that the Disco is mine 2 hours prior to it opening That way we can do our first dance and father/daughter mother/son dance  and ppl can mingle before the disco opens.

The only thing left to do now is to put a deposit for a photographer and then get my dress, which I already know what it is and then its sit back and wait

Aww IM so sorry to hear that!!! I know what you mean. Everyone has been asking us for years where/when we were getting married. We told them numerous times, its going to be a destination wedding when it does happen. So they have had fair warning! smh.

My grandparents cant make it, my grandpa is 92 and grandma is older too, and my grandma on my moms side doesnt leave canada. Unforotunately its a sacrafice which sucks, but Im bringing her dress shopping and ill have someone record it for her.

Its difficult for my parents but they are figuring it out, and ill probably help them in the end.

Maybe something will change their mind and they will end up coming. So sorry

i KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN!! I got engaged This december. And now getting Married in Jan. I didnt want to wait almost 2 years. Because I want to have a baby soon. And Im lame. Wanna be married before that! So we just booked out Honeymoon this week, so we are staying for another 5 nights. We originally thought of staying in Negril for the second week but seeing as Ocho Rios is on the opposite end I wasn't really in favor of wasting so much of the extra 5 nights traveling 2.5hrs to get to the new resort....and then having to leave early on the day we leave early ....so we decided to stay at the Sandals Royal Carribean in Montego Bay...we are super excited -the place is beautiful. I used all the Airmiles I had to pay for 1 of us, and paid the cash for the second. I really wanted to have a place with no children and that was quiet and Honeymoon like I figured after a week of partying with so many at the Riu the quiet and relaxation is what we needed before going home Sandals has deals even if you book directly with them right now and they have soooo many resorts in Jamaica. AWESOME! thanks for that info! we are now considering montego bay also. As thats where we have to catch our flight on the monday back. We dont know what our times are yet for any of that as its too far awayy.

I will definetly check that resort out. Im hoping that some of our hotel fees can be discounted a bit if we get 16 ppl to book for the wedding. that will help a little bit, and every bit helps! Today is my research day on Resorts in Montego bay. My TA got us a pretty good rate for the RIU in negril, which is still an option if we dont find anything we like. Always wanted to stay in NEGRIL for the 7 mile beach. I love the sand and water. But im sure Montego Bay is beautiful as well.

I wonder if our credit card points can go towards a Hotel rather then a flight. Hmmm something to check into! We havent decided if we are going to use the TA for the second week or not. I love her but if i can find something cheaper I would def go with that.

Was that sandals for all inclusive? or do you have to pay for drinks/food extra?

So basically no to round tables at the mammee resturant. Only if you are doing something at the pool deck or beach??? And I am assuming she means we can seperate the square tables .... But it would still be in a T formation, just not one long table.

Hmm I am going to try emailing her in a few months about it since my wedding isnt until January, but I wanted to order table runners, and that depends on the size and shape of the table.

We are not upgrading are cake. You get a free 3 tier cake. We where talking to Keish over a year ahead of the wedding date. We are the same way we did not bombard her with questions and emails lol.

that would be awesome. Is the pool deck anymore in price then renting the disco for the 2 hours prior? I just want some where for ppl to go for a bit as a group But dont want it to be too pricey. I know with the disco the dj/bar/booze etc is included and it is like 500-600 for that. If the pool deck was the same I would consider that as well.

Keisha has been pretty good with emailing me back even though my wedding is over 9 months away. I try not to bombard her and keep things good lol dont want to have trouble like other brides have. So far so good though. Are you upgrading your cake?

EXCELLENT! Ya Id like to see if you do it at mammee how your set up was if you do round tables. So I know that the Marmee resturant is what is generally given if you are having the "free" package, but I was wondering if anyone knows if you can have one of the other resturants and have round tables or are those considerd the "private" receptions and cost more? My fi and his parents are just concerned about the One long table thing. I didnt find it a big issue but I think they would prefer the round tables and then the traditional wedding party at one long table so everyone can see.

I have a email from Keisha saying that we can use either TAI or Jans flowers now. So there is no vendor fee for the flowers anymore if you use either of them

My travel agent tried to get her to wave 1 day so I could have it on the 8th but they said no. Hopefully it works out for you, but im guessing she will says that 2 day rule applies. I wonder why the disco is closed on tuesdays. Why is tuesday a day that it would be closed.. Makes no sense.

Right now im trying to figure out if i want to do something for 2 hrs before the disco opens. Waiting to hear back from her on if its available on my day. She responded to one of my emails about the cake. I asked how much to get some deco on it or a different cake and it was 350. THE 350 cake is nice, but really dont wanna spend that. I think im going to keep the cake thats included and just get my SIL to dress it up with flowers and what not and some colour.

As far as I know. The thursday wont count. The friday will and then you would have to wait til tuesday. as the saturday and sunday do not count. I had to change my whole week that I wanted to go .
