Hey RK Bridal is great! Iv been there several times. I would recommend coming in when they open because they dont make appointments for first time dress shopping so unless you get there at opening and put your name on the list you have to wait till an employee is free with a room. I found my dress at RK Bridal but I ended up buying it through another bridal store because they gave me a better price. RK Bridal also has a great selection on BM dresses and different ways to save money on them. R

Hey Ladies just a little advice on the wedding dress I am from NYC and I got engaged at the end of dec 2012, I started looking for my dress at the end of Jan and I was shocked with how long it took me to find a dress (due to style budget and what you see in your head doesnt look like that on you). Aside from that on average it takes about 4-6 months for the dress to come in plus you need time for alterations. This was the average time in ALL the stores, thats includes the little boutiques in NYC to the more sample sale boutiques in NYC and the stores around the other boroughs. This really had stressed me out and even though I ordered my dress at the end of March/beginning of April its only coming in mid September and I didnt think it would be so tight. I always like to give my self super extra time in case something goes wrong. Same situation with the bridesmaid dresses, and those take a while to pick out as well. And you need to give those extra time in case your girls lose weight or gain weight and major alterations need to get done. Just how things went for me with the dresses. R

I choose the aqua package and I did not black any rooms. I used a TA because she gave me better deals then the resort. Our wedding is on a Sunday, so we are traveling Thursday and Wednesday. Theresa told me that is more then enough time

HI Ladies Congrats to all the new brides and all the new wives!!! I havent been posting often because I have been working with Theresa and she has been a LIFE SAVER!!!!!! If anyone is interested in her information please let me know and I will give it to you. She is AMAZING! I gave her my wedding budget and she is managing to pull of everything i have been dreaming of and Gabi Beach which I didnt think we would be able to afford. I also wanted to tell you that she offered me a great alternative to flower centerpieces, these large crystal trees. HI You have to take into consideration that not everyone will be happy or like the resort. I was also between Dreams Palm Beach and PPR and based on the reviews PPR was better. Im from the NYC area and everytime I tell someone Im getting married at PPR the response I get is WOW they are amazing. Speak to your TA and ask her if she has had any clients that have traveled to both resorts and find out what they had to say

Hi ladies Sorry for the confusion, but everyone is talking about Theresa the wedding planner. Who is she? How and is she affiliated with the romance team? Sorry for the confusion, Im trying to keep up lol. Rita

Our wedding is in Dec 2013, we booked it in Feb. I think you still have time to book the stay at the resort. We have been working with a travel agent and she was able to get us a deal through Delta. It was 1350, for 6 nights, traveling non-stop from JFK with transfer from and to the airport in DR. Most of our families have already booked with this deal. Prices will fluctuate for the resort and for the flight. What I think you should do is give information regarding the date of the wedding to whomever you are inviting and tell your travel agent to constantly look for deals. You have time so I personally wouldnt worry. When we sent out STD we gave the info of our TA and told people they could book through her or book it on their own. She kept updating me on different deals she found and when she found the Delta deal, I went through the fine print with her and when I realized it was a great deal I called all of our family and people would call her and give her their info. She asked for $150 deposit per person, and the full payment will be due 1 month before we travel. Our friends have been taking their time with this and I dont have the energy to push them so if they book too late I cant do anything about that. I have given them more then enough notice.

HI! I feel your pain and stress level! I am also finishing grad school, externship, work and have my tests for my license coming up (which I havent started to study for). My fiancee's family has been a thorn in my side since we started planning this. My future MIL cant keep up with any information I tell her and then claims I didnt tell her anything. Everyone in his family has a new story or something every week. This one wont get on a plane, this one says they cant afford it, this one only wants to go for this and that date. Basically just a pain. From the moment we got engaged I felt as if noone in his family cared. I was forced to invite people from his side of the family(distant relatives that he doesnt speak to) who did not congratulate us on our engagement when we saw them, then they said wont come in a nasty way and now they are thinking about it. One of the girls im asking to be my bridesmaid (im asking her bc I was her bridesmaid and my fiancee and I both feel the bridge to our relationship with this couple will be burned if I dont ask her) has not called me in 2 months, not to ask how my wedding plans are going, not to say hi and when she was getting married I made myself available to her all the time, whether it was to run errands or just to vent. We sent out STD to all family and friends and NONE of our friends have gotten back to us, just to say YES/NO. My fiancee and I have gotten into several arguments about this wedding. If it wasnt for my mom I would said screw this to this entire wedding. I basically came to a point where this is something me and my fiance want. I told him to deal with his side of the family and that I dont want to have anything to do with their nonsense. I understand ur stress and frustration. U need to sit down with your future hubby tell him your concerns and frustrations and make a decision together. If this is what you want then do it. The girls wont answer u? then screw them! the people that really care wont make this day a headache for you. They will go out of their way to make it less stressful. Hi ladies This is a question about your bridal party...I am in the NYC area. My fiancee wants to wear a beige suit for the wedding and we will be investing into a nice suit for him since we can wear it again. Does anyone know where I can rent nice beige suits for the bridal party, we both want them to be nice and we obviously cant ask the guys to buy themselves suits. I also figured that some of the guys would have beige suits but then the colors may be off and I dont think that would work well. I would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations on what you ladies have done with your bridal parties. Thank you!

Hi Ladies Needed some advice please. I received confirmation yesterday about our December 8 wedding. I got excited because it felt like wow this was actually going to happen and then I called my future MIL, who as usual completely killed my buzz lol. Shes difficult to work with lol. I then contacted my TA who sent me an email this morning saying she wants info on all the guests that are def coming. I was planning to save electronic save the dates this weekend ( Thank You! EVKnowsitall for the amazing website! It super cute!) and then I was going to order invites, Now im thinking if it makes sense to just send out electronic invitations instead. I would really appreciate advice from ladies who have had this debate! Are electronic invitations really tacky? If I did invitations I would only do them for friends and a few family friends. My family has told me not to get them invitations bc it would be a waste of money. Thank you!
