Does anyone know of any good make up artists? Or does the resort have a good artist/stylist. Our site visit in in december. I didn't hear anything about the $800 vendor fee for outside vendors? So far, we have talked to Kalena only.. any reviews on her? It would be nice to find other indian brides who are planning their wedding at BP. Good luck and have fun planning everyone:) Renal Oh I would definatly ask about the vendor fee because I just came back from my site visit 2 weeks ago at LeBlanc Spa Resort (Palace resort) and there is definately a fee of $800.00 for outside vendors. So I would have them confirm that with you.

She is great might take some time to hear back from her if you email because she is busy working on her current weddings but she will get back to you. It's also good to just set up a call with her and get everything you want to ask her that way so you're not waiting on emails. She handled my site visit and put me in contact with my onsite wedding coordinator very early on so she's been great to work with.

I was originally going to do so, but the group rate they gave me is pretty ridiculous. This is what I was given for November 2013 (SLOW season) All Inclusive AUG 25/13 - DEC 23/13 Room Type SGL DBL TPL QUA 5th. 6th. CHL Superior Deluxe - Garden View 343 191 178 172 61 Superior Deluxe - Ocean View 365 202 189 183 61 According to this, a room with 2 adults would be $382. On expedia, you can get the same room for $350. Also, if you book direct, by the chart above, 4 adults in a room would cost $688 where on Expedia - it's still just $350. Everywhere else charges PER ROOM, not per person. I hate to ask people to pay more money to go thru the hotel directly, but with a planned guest attendance of 100+, I need to make sure I earn the 75 room night benefits, and still allow everyone to get their resort credits, etc. So can I use a travel agent instead and are their rates more in line with Expedia/cheap caribbean? Are you still able to earn the function benefits/upgrades? Has anyone tried asking for a better group rate direct from the hotel? I'm having this same problem now I want my guests to book through our group contract but they are finding the trip at least $420 dollars cheaper through expedia. The problem with this is that then we would have to pay for them to attend all the private events and their stay would not be counted towards the free amenities. So if we have a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour and reception that comes out to $320 we would have to pay per couple for them to attend. I don't want to tell a guest who asks no they can't book through expedia if its such a big difference. Right now the flights are at a good price so that's why I think Expedia room/flight package is so cheap but not all guests are booking at this moment and are willing to pay the whole amount of their trip now to get the better deal. One guests has asked us if they can book through expedia for their 4 day trip since they would be saving around $400 so I need to figure out if we should pay the difference so that we match Expedia and have them counted towards the wedding group contract or just let them book on their own. I don't want to turn people off and have them pay more to do it our way because then they will probably not want to come. I'd be willing to pay the difference for this one couple because its my fiance's brother and wife and this could be considered their Bestman gift but uh I hope this doesn' t come up with other guests. Need to figure out what works out better in the end for us paying the difference and having their stay count towards our free amenties or letting them just book on their own.

Saw these cute pouches on pinterest and found them on amazon on sale so I bought them for my bridesmaids as little gifts and one for myself. Perfect to hold some makeup and money. -

This is my second dress/party dress. Got a good deal on it at a Loehmann's bridal event. I didn't buy my actual dress yet but I just thought this was so fun and perfect for Mexico I didn't want to pass it up. It's a surprise for my fiance. -

My fiancé and I visited Dreams in September and we have just this week booked the date of July 18th for our wedding. We are very excited, however we are noticing that a lot of family members are starting to be concerned about the wedding being far away ( we live in NY). My parents especially, are worried that many people won't attend ( which I am okay with). I am just wondering how many people most of you invited, and then how many people ended up actually attending. If you would be willing to share this with me I would really love it! Another completely random question I have that may be on here but I haven't read all the pages is whether or not Chinese Lanterns are allowed. We would like to release them the night of the wedding, and the ones I found are non plastic and biodegradable. I was just wondering if anyone knew. Thanks so much! I invited 100 people but only expecting about 30 people to actually book and come to the wedding. Just need to prepare yourself to get some no's back its ok as long as you and your fiance are there that's all that really matters. I'm not sure abou the lanterns that I would ask the hotel or wedding planner. I've seen them in some pics so they must be allowed in some hotels just have to check about yours.

You can use your ipod for a rehearsal dinner or welcome dinner. DJ mannia is quite good and yes the do make all the important announcements just like any other DJ in the area. and they usually play during dinner as well. You can send them your playlist or send it to your wedding coordinator to forward to them. reasonable hours for DJ is 4 to 5 hours., if the hotel only offers you 3hours you can always requests an hour extra. Hope this was helpful and feel free to ask us anything and we will be happy to help! Happy Planning! Joyce I agree I would hire a DJ to get the party going. If its in your budget I would do it just so you or your guests aren't stuck in charge of the ipod and get to just enjoy the night.

We originally thought maybe South Carolina, Florida area...then I quickly realized..we would be getting on yet another plane for a honeymoon, there are NO all-inclusive places in the US, and if we are going to do this...lets do it RIGHT! So I started looking at islands....Originally thinking the Virgin Islands, so the people that didn't have passports already wouldn't have to mess with getting them. I then learned how expensive it can be to fly there, and decided....It's MY wedding...I shouldn't be planning this around other people! I've been to Mexico twice, and Punta Cana once, so my next destination was going to be Jamaica! I ran this idea past my fiancee and he was on board! I decided that was going to be the destination! Now to figure out which resort to choose! When we mentioned this to his family, his mother instantly laughed..saying...HAH! RIGHT! We are not spending that much money!....I don't think she thought I was serious! Well...SORRY! Every since we decided this his family has been causing issues. His mom finally is starting to come around and actually said she wants to see my info I've gathered. Just when I thought I could breathe easier and they were coming around, his father made mention to his gma that he WAS NOT going to leave the country.....Seriously?!?!?! I'm really having issues with this...I am NOT budging on MY wedding....I think alot of it has to do with...they have NEVER been out of the country, let alone...NEVER even been to a beach. They don't realize the ALL-INCLUSIVE part of it. I really think if they had experienced it before they wouldn't be soo negative on the idea. Then to top it off...now his sister is throwing a fit, due to the fact we have decided not to take his 2 year old daughter with us down for the ceremony, and only have her at the at home reception. Now apparently I'm a HORRIBLE person because we made this decision, for MANY reasons!! She would be the ONLY child in the group, we are staying at an adults-only resort, even if we got a pass for her to come over, it would only be for the ceremony, we would have to get her a separate plane ticket, get her a passport (which would be hell in itself getting her mother to show up to sign for it), someone would have to watch her the whole time, I don't think she needs to be around all of the drinking and partying that will no doubt be going on, she won't remember it, and most obviously and importantly...her mother is lets just say the most pleasant person to deal with and would NEVER allow us to take her out of the country, mainly just because she likes to do ANYTHING that will hurt him or make things difficult for us. His family knows how much trouble she has already caused and the type of person she is...I would think that in itself would make them realize our decision is the right one...NOT the case...instead I'M the bad person now. I'm sticking to my guns and not letting ANY of their drama they are trying to cause bring me down or change any of my decisions. My fiancee is on board with all of this and I made sure of that in the beginning. It's just SUPER frustrating on top of trying to make all the decisions on the resort and trying to figure what to spend money on and what not to! I ended up changing resorts and FINALLY after like 2 months made a final decision on one...now just waiting to hear back about my date and make the deposit! I feel like once I have that part done I will feel like ALOT has been lifted off my shoulders! Hoping things start looking up! Sorry! Rant over!!! I haven't talked to many people about my situation...but the ones I have talked to have totally agreed with our decision! Some people just don't see it from our point of view I guess! Oh well! OUR WEDDING!!! Exactly, just remind yourself when your feel down and everyone is making their comments its OUR WEDDING. They can choose to come if they'd like but in the end you will still go through with it they way you planned it and it will be great. The only two people you really need to please are yourself and you your fiance. Anyone else who does come and joins in the festivities is just icing on the cake. For the people who do not come they can see all the nice pictures of all the fun!
