  1. @@Sabes44 I got one for my mom, grandma, grandpa he's walking me down the aisle, my mother in law and my father in law. The seller that I posted from etsy was great to work with but I would order with time because it does take a couple weeks to get it.
  2. I did personalized handkerchiefs for the parents with a nice message. My fiance and I also payed for their flights and covered one room night. I think i'll also cover the mom's hair for the day of but that will be it. Oh and I'll also give them a nice card. This is the handkerchief vendor. https://www.etsy.com/listing/193809282/personalized-wedding-handkerchief-for?ref=shop_home_active_1
  3. @@helenk I didn't know they did either I've only used the thicker ones but she recommends these to a lot of brides. Def makes a difference.
  4. I'm doing spanx underneath the lady at the bridal salon actually recommended it for the beach because if you sweat it will be buffer between your thighs to keep you dry, sexy right? lol The spanx I got are super thin and just smooth me out.
  5. Thanks!! You are too sweet, you make a girl feel great about her decision. lol
  6. We are flying first class and with United my fiance and I can check in 2 bags each up to 70 lbs. and we get our carry ons as well. I'm hoping to fit most of the stuff in our check in bags but my family has volunteered to use their free check in bags to bring whatever we can't fit. My 3 sisters and mom are all only staying for 3 nights so they only need to pack their stuff on a carry on and will let me use their free check in bags. I should be able to fit everything plus some extra decor but If we need to pay for one extra bag that will be alright. My resort won't let me ship anything and also its not recommended because there is risk of it not making there on time or just disappearing altogether.
  7. Yeah Etsy is good for some things, other things I just use Etsy for inspiration and then try to do the stuff myself. Here are my hangers, shirts, maracas and shot glasses. All Etsy inspirations and all together probably spent around $200.00. If I would have bought everything through etsy it would have been over $500.
  8. I orderd my canvas bags on bagiva.com I bought 40 for around $40.00 with shipping. Then I just bought iron transfers from Michaels with coupons and printed out my logos and ironed them on the bag to customize. The bags are pretty big and can fit alot of stuff. For the hangover kits I bought everything with coupons at Sallys beauty store they take bed bath and beyond coupons at Sallys and they have a great travel section so I got the travel size stuff there. I seriously used like 10 coupons, the guy thought I was crazy but it saved me a lot of money. I also bought some stuff at the dollar store. I think all together I spent $150 for 40 bags. So under $4 a bag and that includes the hangover kit. I DIY almost all of my extras for the wedding. I would look for inspiration online and then tried to see if I could do it myself for the cheapest price but still look good. I did my own hangers, oot bags, maraca favors, bridal party shirts, bridal party etched shot glasses and I'm making my own fan/programs, menus and signs. I actually like the challenge to see if I can make the same thing much cheaper lol. I know my guests will appreciate the bags, I went to a destination wedding recently and there weren't any welcome bags or favors of any kind and I felt like it was missing. I could have used some extra aloe and advil at times and also it would have been nice to know who was part of the wedding since the bag would have been a dead give away. Just my opinion.
  9. @@tygrrlily did you meet your onsite coordinator when you went to your onsite visit? We did and we have her email address, sometimes I'll email my off site coordinator and cc my onsite so that one of them answers me. My onsite sometimes takes over and I get answers and things waived that my off site coordinator previously said couldn't be done. Just a tip.
  10. I bought all 5 of my bridesmaids their dresses but I also found them online for an awesome price. Donna Morgan had a sale going on and each dress was $50 from the original price of $250 so I bought all 5 dresses for the price of one. My bridesmaids really appreciated the gesture, they are covering the alterations though. Look on Donna Morgan's website under the sale section they always have bridesmaids dresses on sale.
  11. I had my engagement photos taken in Playa Del Carmen by Del Sol Photography and I loved how they came out. You can see some of my photos if you click on the link below in my signature. They are great photographers they are also doing my wedding. The beach is beautiful and you have the lush trees and plants.
  12. I wanted to share my DIY wedding favors. I bought white maracas from amols.com and then spray painted them my wedding colors turquoise and coral. My awesome brother in law then made me a stencil to spray paint the design and then we used paint pens to write on them. I think they came out great!! I was going to order them online from a Mexican vendor and get them shipped to my resort but it would have been around $350 to $400 for the maracas. I only spent around $75 for all 40 maracas that's including all the spray paint and paint pens. I'm also adding some tags that says "shake me for a kiss". I'm loving all the DIY projects and the savings.

  14. Wow I know that feeling I went through the same thing with my best friend of 29 years. No text though she just ignored me for 5 months then I got it an email saying she couldn't make. Trust me it'll get better and you're right not much you can do about it. You will appreciate and have that much more fun with the people who do go, she's missing out.
  15. Thanks girls!! Making me feel good about my choice. lol I'm usually not the one to show off curves or bust but when I tried this one on it felt right and very womanly. My sister said don't hide it that day flaunt it.
  16. I went to my first fitting yesterday and the dress fits better than I expected. I can't wait to finally get to wear it, only 2 more months until my wedding. Getting excited!!!
