Hi Cherri! Yeay another Beantown Bride I chose the MC because of a couple of reasons but the main reasons were 1) I love the gazeebo and to have 2 to choose from is even better ( beach and Garden) and 2) My Brother and sister in law got married at Excellence in Mexico and I Loved the swim up rooms. Majestic is the only hotel in DR that has them. And 3) I did not want that big hotel feel so I looked into places thast had 5 floors or less and this was the best one. Pm me your e-mail for the pricing attachments , I have pmed you the link for the pics.

OOT bag welcome letter
Bostonbride37 replied to RRsmile's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Loving this thread. You all have such great ideas. We went to my BIL's destination wedding and the one complaint I heard is no one knew where to go or what was next. There was just the invite that was sent out and nothing else, no welcome letter, no website. I am doing both for this reason. Even though mine is a vow renewal and not a first wedding, it will have that first wedding feel and everyone will know where to go and what options are available to them. Your guests will all be much happier with all the info you are giving them. -
Looking at my budget, I would rather spend more on Photos so I am looking for places to cut some corners and would love some input. One way I have found is to use Party gift bags instead of drawstring back packs. I will be making about 30 of them so the difference comes to between $120 -$180. I know in the scheme of a budget this does not sound like much but that on top of doing my own hair and make up and some other things will add up. Thoughts please? Party bags with Labels on them of the picture we were going to use on the back packs or Drawstring back packs screen printed The stuff we are putting in will be travel sizes: IN SICKNESS AND HEALTH: tummy meds Headache meds sunblock aloe FOR BETTER OR WORSE tide to go hairspray chapstick lifesavers nailfile TO HAVE AND TO HOLD Koozie foR RICHER OR POORER: Water proof $ holder FOR AS LONG AS WE BOTH SHALL LIVE Picture frame

Bridesmaids dresses

These are great aren't they? I love that they can be worn anyway they want for the ceremony but still be similar and truly can be worn again and again. -
I have been going about adding everything up and was confused about some of the pricing details. We are doing the same ( semi private dinner and reception) cab you tell me what you included in your reception? any add ons like lights dance floor ect? The private recp option comes with a sound system, yet it is added into each of the options, I am so lost.

Any other 2014 brides here getting an early start?
Bostonbride37 replied to beachbride14's topic in Newbies!!
It is beautiful. You should see of the resort will steam it for you before the big day. Majestic Colonial does as part of the wedding package. -
I saw this on another site and thought I would share it here too. I love it and will be doing it. When you do your message in a bottle invites, put a drop of cocnut liquid popouri( I don't know how to spell it) on the cork. It gives the smell of the tropics when they open the bottle to take out the invite. Simple, easy, cheap and a nice touch.

I am doing DR in July and this was very helpful!!!! Thank you for posting! Just waiting on the 1 year mark. -
I am in a sort of similar situation. I have 3 sisters and one brother of which I am inviting 2 sisters to my vow renewal ceremony. My brother will not care, he does not like to fly, hates the sun and would never go anyways ( lives in Washington State because of the limited days of sunshine). I am telling him about the ceremony and explaining to him that I do not expect him to attend but he is more than welcome. I would send him an invite but he would give me a hard time about spending $ to send it. He would appreciate me telling him instead. Weird I know but , thats my brother. My sister I am not inviting on the other hand, now she is a different story. She will be very upset but this is a decision I have made to save the sanity of my day and my family. We have not spoken except briefly on FB for a long time. She no longer speaks to my other sister who is my MOH due to an almost unforgivable act or my father for other reasons. She will cause issues if she were to go and expect everyone else to pay for her to go and make them feel bad if they don't. She lives a life I could never understand and don't pretend to but it is the fact that inviting her will cause more issues than not that lead me to take her off the list. I would rather take the brunt of the back lash for not inviting her than place the target on the rest of my family for inviting her.

How are you ladies getting around the problem with flight information not being available until a year in advance? I am hesitant on sending out my invite/std until that becomes available. Should I not worry about that part yet? -
I am all over the place! I have been working with different aspects of every different angle and idea and notion for my vow renewal. I am sure all of you know what I mean. Ok so today I am working with my OOT bags. I was going to do per family but, I have found out some families are breaking up into different rooms. Let me explain. At first my mil was going to have a room, my BIL and his family, my sister and her family and our kids were going to have thier own room. Well now My sister and her husband will have a room Her 2 kids and my son will share a room ( all between 19-21) And my daughter and my BILs daughter will be with Nana. On top of that, others are doing the same thing. I have friends who are sibs and they and thier sug others are sharing a room with thier kids( again all over 18) will be in a different room. ( Open bathroom concept~ I hope they don't mind leaving the room so the other can get ready hehe) I was going to do a bag per family with personal touches for each person. White Zin for my MIL, NY crossword book for my FIL and Step MIL, ... I could go on forever. But with everyone switching things up room wise, I might just do per room and have them distributed by hanging them on thier doors as the guests arrive or something like that with the personal touches for each one in the room. My darling husband thinks I am thinking too much into it but I can't help it. I think this vow renewal is becoming an obsession. My family may host an intervention hehe

Bridesmaids dresses
Bostonbride37 replied to TammyWright's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
For my vow renewal, I have my sister as my MOH and my daughter as a bridesmaid. Who are the people women most fight with? Thier sisters and daughters. When thinking of my bridesmaids dresses, this popped in my mind. I think my daughter would be the most challanging, at 13, I could not see me winning a you are wearing this dress fight.I do not want that stress on the ceremony day. So, I picked the infinity dress for both of them. I have yet to decide on the color, but this way #1 they can wear it how ever they wish and #2 they can wear it again and again and have different dresses all the time. I know I do not want black for the color but this picture had a very good demonstration of all the ways you can wear the same dress. -

Bostonbride37 replied to Bostonbride37's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Thank you, Thank you. I would love to pick your brain! I have so many questions. I will get them together and send them to you. Getting ahold of the resort via e-mail, as they like is proving to be harder than I thought. -
Ok I have one more question. I am looking to do my vow renewal July 2014 on or around the 22nd. How far in advance should I book? And when should I get a TA? I thought I was ahead of the curve but after reading this thread I feel like I am almost behind. I have 18mo to go. Also if anyone has any attachments pls let me know and I will pm you my email. Thanks in advance!!
